El estrato de la isla está formado por
fango y formaciones lodosas. Debido a que es una zona
costera altamente sísmica, se realizaron
estudios sobre movimiento de aguas
e intrusión salina.
Kidal es la región más pobre de Mali y la más poblada. No hay caminos asfaltados, ni hospitales y tiene condiciones climáticas adversas. Se realizaron estudios para determinar la factibilidad y sustentabilidad de la región para la construcción de barracas .
CONCLUSIONES
•Las aguas subterráneas son un importante recurso, frecuentemente olvidado. • El almacenamiento de agua por medio de presas tiene las siguientes ventajas: reducir o minimizar la evaporación, reducir los tiempos de diseño y construcción, menos susceptible a contaminación o riesgos sanitarios, las técnicas utilizadas son de bajo costo. • Se deben realizar estudios previos para el diseño y construcción de una presa, que permitan determinar el lugar más adecuado, la mejor utilización y aprovechamiento, el mejor costo y mayor durabilidad.
•Se deben realizar modelos y simulaciones que permitan determinar, fragilidad, comportamiento ante sismos, posibilidad de fractura, materiales y dimensiones óptimas, etc. • Hay muchos modelos que pueden utilizarse para realizar análisis de una presa, el de uso más frecuente es el método o modelo de elementos finitos. • La intrusión salina es un gran problema, principalmente en zonas costeras, ya que el sodio daña cultivos y vuelve inestable el terreno al alterar las arcillas.
