Preceptorship Development Programme CMFT 3

Introduction

The Preceptorship Development programme has been designed for you as a newly registered practitioner to assist in your transition from student to health professional within the Trust. All learning is individual, however it is envisaged that the 12 month programme will allow you to further develop your professional and reflective skills, which will assist you in becoming a competent practitioner.

As a new registrant, the Trust anticipates that you complete a formal period of Preceptorship as outlined in this document and the Preceptorship Policy (2010). This programme is mandatory and therefore those involved are required to demonstrate commitment to this process by signing the following agreement. The Preceptorship programme comprises of three main components: a) Induction and orientation to the Trust and clinical area. b) Support, supervision and assessment reviews in the clinical area. c) Further development of professional skills you have already acquired, also the acquisition of new skills pertinent to your professional development, by attending a series of study days In conjunction with the Preceptorship programme the current CMFT Preceptorship policy explains definitions and roles and responsibilities.
