O Licensed architect by ETSAC, A Coruña School of Architecture (Spain), I completed my studies at the Nantes School of Architecture (France) and I have recently finished a Master’s degree in BIM to optimize the development of projects and work more efficiently.

I have gained professional experience working in different practices in Spain developing all the scales and phases of the creative process, since the conception of the idea to its follow on site.

My studies provided me with two synergic perspectives of architecture. The Spanish approach gave me a sound background in structures and construction, and I developed an interest in hand drawing. My experience in France allowed me to become more artistic and creative. That is why I perceive architecture as a set of interactions, in which all the elements are important, from furniture design to construction details. These details allow us to provide the project with many nuances and meanings, and trying to surprise. I like thearchitecture that improves, that produces something new.

In my spare time I am interested in relating disciplines in a creative way, I like art, design, fashion and photography. This leads me to co-found “Pourquoi Pas?”, a mark of decorative accessories, and recently, I am preparing a collage exhibition.

I am a versatile and multidisciplinary person, with great capacity for work, both individually and collectively. Committed and enthusiastic about new challenges, I always try to improve my skills and look for new tendencies and inspiration around the world.

Here is a brief summary of academic and professional projects carried out in the last few years, a compilation of my own working and designing style.

Sevilla, is a city where temperatures go above 40

degrees in summer. It has 696,676 inhabitants and only 5 public swimming pools. The Guadalquivir River flows through the city, but due to the levels of water contamination, swimming in the river is not allowed.

The proposal is based on the reuse, the revitalization and the generation of the lowest environmental impact. The project will be located in the old structures of Expo 1992, now abandoned. The facilities of the project will be located on them.

The activating element, the river pool, will use the river water, that will pass through the walls of the pool (formed by a series of filters and activated carbon) and be purified without the need of chemicals or water treatment plants.

MARKET OF KNOWLEDGEIn Istanbul there are more than 300 daily markets. So, what could we sell in this new market to be different? As Istanbul is a multicultural city (with a huge diversity and variety of people), and a market is used as a meeting point, a place for exchange, and a place of social interaction, Why not exchange people’s knowledge?

A FabLab, is a concept created in 2005 at the MIT.

The building is situated in a traditional neighbourhood in A Coruña (Spain).

The analysis is focused on how to develop such a modern and innovative concept in such a long established and traditional location.

The building will be erected as a focus point to attract citizens to participate in the third industrial revolution, and simultaneously, to helpin the revamping of the district.

As few people know what a FabLab is, the intention is to make a building whose design can explain its purpose, pointing out the creation process with an ascending path that guides users through the different stages of the building.

Ana developed her Master project under my supervision. She showed her interest, curiosity and passion in Architecture and she also revealed an enthusiasm to learn. These statements were corroborated by the highly praised comments of the board’s faculty members, besides the qualification she obtained.

Ana worked on her proposal with an attitude based on two fundamental elements in an architect’s role: reflection and non-conformism. These attitudes made her constantly search for the best answers with a reflexive attitude which was evident in all the documents in her project.

Throughout the project, Ana constantly showed concepts that should not be forgotten in architecture: involvement, relationship between filled-in parts and voids, perception...Using common tools of our profession with an expressive handling of the building codes, far from trivial and thoughtless proposals, so plentiful nowadays.

Consequently, the project document was made carefully and detailed, taking care of the appearance. Ana was concerned not only about “What” she told, but also about “How”.

Students like Ana are those that make teaching at the school of Architecture worth the effort.
