INSTALLATION: '' My own chessboard is the thumbnail of my own society.’’

lamps, lanterns, plastic articles, bottles ,painted floor.2.25 x 2.25 cm'', February 2014''

,

Concept:"Chess", represents a real conflict betweentwo kingdoms. Often considered as abstract wargame, with many terms. This gave me occasion, to parallel it with the politicaland social game of our day whichviolates human rights.

I replaced the pieces and I put other everyday objects which highlight in my opinion the causes of the encroachment of human rights

Concept:Through an investigation forthe properties of radioactivity,I gathered information on the benefactor of the molecule radium, Marie Curie, a Polish-born chemist and an acclaimed Nobel laureate. She had two loves, the chemistry lab and gardens. In my effort to narrate the life of this great woman,I ended up in following installation, trying to represent the moment of the discovery of the radium molecule.

Participation to NEFELE project |Art Residencies in Mental Health UnitsIn this project, twelve students by the Athens School of Fine Arts visited eight mental health units and conduct short-term creative workshops with the members. Our stay in the units was supervised by the unit’s art therapist and the project’s supervisor artist. The students conceived and brought creative topics/ titles, under which the members creatively contribute, so that a final participatory artefact was produced by all. It’s a kind of creative “assemblage” of many different artworks, with a therapeutic and rewarding value.

During nefele project, I worked with a group of 8 members, who have taken mental health services. This group had done dramatherapy lessons, andloved the theatre.

Creating masks from plaster on balloons, was a newexperience for them, littlecumbersome but funaccording to their interests .

In the workshop we also played lot of roles, we tabledour souls, and we enjoyed it.

Workshop: In situ art ‘’Philoxenia’’, Loutraki, Greece, 2015‘’philoxenia’’ greek word means > hospitality

Collaboration of studentsfrom School of Architectureand Fine arts, trying to organize newconditions between twodifferent paths of art. Final goal was the intervention in selectedseafont locations.

.

Consept: In our effort to make a seaside place more hospitable for humans, we chose to process an area near the sea, with circular shape which was enclosed by hard rocks. The natural beauty of the place was spectacular, but at the same time it was also dangerous because the rocks that where within the pond could easily hurt you. Furthermore, what caught our interest was the phenomenon of the tide which clarified what our end goal of our project would be.

Taking into account the rocks and the tide, we decided to create a square, where you can visit in the morning and sit without any kind of barriers or obstacles. In the afternoon you can also enjoy the tide without fear of the increased amount of water and enjoy the sunset safely.

So, we moved all the large stones that were inside, and placed small gravel instead. Then we placed wooden planks, old pieces from windows and doors of local homes. These planks have helped us record the tide, and to create a document that shows the unpredictability of nature.

So I believe with the end of our project our goal was achieved, because now we acknowledge the fact that the safe natural beauty of a place makes us feel more hospitable than any other.
