What is DameWare Remote Support?

• DameWare® Remote Support is an easy-to-use remote control and system administration software that simplifies remote access and troubleshooting of end-user workstations and servers.

Flexible Deployment Options

• Based on your remote connection needs and distributed type of infrastructure, you can choose to install DameWare Remote Support in one of the following modes:

o Standalone deployment: For quick and easy remote connection within the LAN. Faster configuration and instant remote connections. Recommended for most organizations that do not need to support computers outside the network firewall.

o Centralized deployment: For centralized management of DameWare license and accounts in large and distributed networks having more IT technicians, and for initiating remote control, over-the-Internet sessions to support end-users outside the LAN.

• These are only two types of installation options. There is no change in pricing or licensing depending on the mode chosen.

1. Multi-platform Remote Access Within the LAN

• DameWare Remote Support includes the following connection types:

Connect to Windows® computers:o Use the built-in Mini Remote Control (MRC) Viewer. Benefit from

remote session tools such as chat, file transfer, screenshot capture, locking remote keyboard/mouse, and more. Supports both attended and unattended remote connections. This is the default connection type and is most suitable for remote controlling Windows systems.

o Use the built-in Remote Desktop (RDP).

• DameWare® Remote Support includes a host of built-in system tools and TCP utilities to remotely manage Windows® PCs and servers within the LAN without initiating a full remote session.
