Introduction

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) invites foreign citizens who ate interested in studying for a specialization masterg degree or doctorate conducting graduate~level research or taking part in an undergraduate or graduate~level academic mobility program in Mexico to participate in the 2016 Mexican Government Scholarship Prograll~ for Iuternational Students

The scholarships are offered to more than 180 countries through a series of bilateral conventions multilateral programs and special agreements More than 70 Mexican institutions ofhigher education (lES) participate and all offer academic programs registered wttll the National Council for Science and Teclmology (CONACYT) in the National Program of Quality Graduate Deglees These programs demonstrate the progress made by Mexico in various areas of the sciences and humanities

By offering Mexican government scholarships for international students Mexko strengthens its role as an actor with global responsibility and renews its commitment to cooperation programs that help create highly skilled human capitaL The presence in Mexico of international students academics and scientists helps build pennanent bridges of dialogue that enrich the long-term foreign policy agenda through contributions of exceptional value for the country and for its partners abroad In additionmiddot the Mexican institutions and the academic community benefit fmm the increased internationalization

General Tetms and Conditions

The scholarships are awarded annually for the following

Program Maximum Length of the Scholarship

Undergraduate and graduate mobility programs One academic term (quarter trimester or semester)

Graduate-level research and postdoctoral fellowships 12 months (1 month minimum)

Specializations 1 year

Masters degrees 2 years

Doctorates 3 years

Medical specializations and subspecializations 3 years

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL THE SCHOLARSfTIP BE EXTENDED

Scholarships are not granted for direct PhD programs (combined MA and PhD programs) distance learning programs open or online education

The scholarships are offered for the following institutions and academic programs and are offered in these countries

The following academic programs are not eligible for scholarships business administration plastic surgery accounting marketing dentistry and advertising and related areas

If the graduate studies program requires a preparatory or introductory course the student must cover the cost as it is not included in the MinistlY of Foreign AffairsAMEXCID scholarship The scholarship begins with the first academic term (quarter trimester semester) after the student successfully completes the preparatory course if required

If the academic program requires a thesis and an endmiddotofmiddotcourse exam tIe student IIIl1st finish tlte thesis and take tlte exam before tlte specijiel end date oftIe scllo(lfslip

Individuals already studying in Mexico at an institution of higher education and in an academic program included in the scholarship program may apply for a scholarship However the Ministry of Foreign AffairsAMEXCID scholarship is not retroactive that is it will not cover any expenses incurred before the soholarship is awarded

Applications for the scholarship will be accepted from April 15 to August 31 2015

The results wiH be aimounced starting in November 2015 by Mexicos diplomatic offices abroad

Candidat~ Profile

Requirements for all applicants bull Bachelors Masters or PhD degree as required by the program for which the

scholarship is requested bull Minimum grade point average of eight (80) on a scale of 0 to 10 or the equivalent

for the last academic degree received bull Be accepted to or currently enrolled in a program at one of the participating

Mexican institutions

The applicant must submit the documents in the following order 1 Official nomination of hisher goyernment 2 Atmlication form 3 An explanation of why the applicant is interested in studying or conducting

reseirch in Mexico 4 Curriculum vitae (maximum of3 pages) 5 AcctWtance Jetter from the MeXican host institution signed by the responsible

party (Director of the International Affairs Office Director of Academic Exchange8~ Head of the Graduate Studies Department Graduate Studies Coordinator etc) stating the length ofthe studies with the staIt and end dates and the type of studies2 For research the acceptance letter should also state that ttle candidate will receive the mentoring needed for the researph project and if possible the name of the advisor

bull Select a program 011 issues that are a priority for the development of their country and of strategic interest to Mexico (priority will be given to academic programs related to the energy sector)

bull Apply for graduate programs not available in their country bull Study or do research at institutions located outside of the Mexico City metropolitan

area bull Hold faculty or research positions at public universities and scientific research

centers in their country bull Are public officials in charge of areas oX programs of special interest for their

country bull Have not previously received a scholarship from the Mexican government

Applications that meet all of the requiremerlts are subject to review by authorities from the applicants respective countries as part ofthe selection process

The Mexican government will only review files received froni its embassies

bull Monthly stipend of 4 times the minimum salaty in Mexico City for mdergraduate mobility scholarships specializations masters degrees or maqters-Ievel research Spanish language or Mexican culture courses currently the equivalent of $841200 pesos (approximately US $546234)

Monthly stipend of 5 times the minimum salary in Mexico City for doctoral studies and research postdoctoral fellowships and medical specjalizations and subspecializations currently the equivalent of $1051500 pesos (approximately US $68190)

Registration fees and tuition as established by the program at each institution (see the academic programs offered by the participating IES)

bull Health insurance from the Mexiclln Social Security Illstihlte (IMSS) starting in the third month of the soholarship (the schOiarshp recipient must have health insulftnce that covers both major and minor medical expenses and provides lntClnational coverage for the first three mouths in Mexico)

bull ROlU1d~trip intemational airfare at the beginning and end ofthe scholarships bull Transportation from Mexico City to the host institution and back at the start and end

The admissions process of the Mexican institution and its letter of acceptance are independent of the scholarship program Applicants are responsible for applying for admission directly to the academio program of interest

bull The applicant must present a nominating letter from hisher government for the scholarship application to be proc~ssed

Submission of an acceptance letter a nominating letter andor all of the required documents does not automatically result in a scholarship AU applicants go through the selection process described in this announcement

Applicants will be advised in writing by the cOlre~ponding Mexican diplomatic office ifheJshe has been awarded u scholarship The scholarships are nonmiddot transferable and may not be deferred for use in subsequent academic years

Introduction

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) invites foreign citizens who ate interested in studying for a specialization masterg degree or doctorate conducting graduate~level research or taking part in an undergraduate or graduate~level academic mobility program in Mexico to participate in the 2016 Mexican Government Scholarship Prograll~ for Iuternational Students

The scholarships are offered to more than 180 countries through a series of bilateral conventions multilateral programs and special agreements More than 70 Mexican institutions ofhigher education (lES) participate and all offer academic programs registered wttll the National Council for Science and Teclmology (CONACYT) in the National Program of Quality Graduate Deglees These programs demonstrate the progress made by Mexico in various areas of the sciences and humanities

By offering Mexican government scholarships for international students Mexko strengthens its role as an actor with global responsibility and renews its commitment to cooperation programs that help create highly skilled human capitaL The presence in Mexico of international students academics and scientists helps build pennanent bridges of dialogue that enrich the long-term foreign policy agenda through contributions of exceptional value for the country and for its partners abroad In additionmiddot the Mexican institutions and the academic community benefit fmm the increased internationalization

General Tetms and Conditions

The scholarships are awarded annually for the following

Program Maximum Length of the Scholarship

Undergraduate and graduate mobility programs One academic term (quarter trimester or semester)

Graduate-level research and postdoctoral fellowships 12 months (1 month minimum)

Specializations 1 year

Masters degrees 2 years

Doctorates 3 years

Medical specializations and subspecializations 3 years

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL THE SCHOLARSfTIP BE EXTENDED

Scholarships are not granted for direct PhD programs (combined MA and PhD programs) distance learning programs open or online education

The scholarships are offered for the following institutions and academic programs and are offered in these countries

The following academic programs are not eligible for scholarships business administration plastic surgery accounting marketing dentistry and advertising and related areas

If the graduate studies program requires a preparatory or introductory course the student must cover the cost as it is not included in the MinistlY of Foreign AffairsAMEXCID scholarship The scholarship begins with the first academic term (quarter trimester semester) after the student successfully completes the preparatory course if required

If the academic program requires a thesis and an endmiddotofmiddotcourse exam tIe student IIIl1st finish tlte thesis and take tlte exam before tlte specijiel end date oftIe scllo(lfslip

Individuals already studying in Mexico at an institution of higher education and in an academic program included in the scholarship program may apply for a scholarship However the Ministry of Foreign AffairsAMEXCID scholarship is not retroactive that is it will not cover any expenses incurred before the soholarship is awarded

The results wiH be aimounced starting in November 2015 by Mexicos diplomatic offices abroad

Requirements for all applicants bull Bachelors Masters or PhD degree as required by the program for which the

scholarship is requested bull Minimum grade point average of eight (80) on a scale of 0 to 10 or the equivalent

for the last academic degree received bull Be accepted to or currently enrolled in a program at one of the participating

bull Apply for graduate programs not available in their country bull Study or do research at institutions located outside of the Mexico City metropolitan

area bull Hold faculty or research positions at public universities and scientific research

centers in their country bull Are public officials in charge of areas oX programs of special interest for their

country bull Have not previously received a scholarship from the Mexican government

Applications that meet all of the requiremerlts are subject to review by authorities from the applicants respective countries as part ofthe selection process

Registration fees and tuition as established by the program at each institution (see the academic programs offered by the participating IES)

bull Health insurance from the Mexiclln Social Security Illstihlte (IMSS) starting in the third month of the soholarship (the schOiarshp recipient must have health insulftnce that covers both major and minor medical expenses and provides lntClnational coverage for the first three mouths in Mexico)

The admissions process of the Mexican institution and its letter of acceptance are independent of the scholarship program Applicants are responsible for applying for admission directly to the academio program of interest

bull The applicant must present a nominating letter from hisher government for the scholarship application to be proc~ssed

Submission of an acceptance letter a nominating letter andor all of the required documents does not automatically result in a scholarship AU applicants go through the selection process described in this announcement

Introduction

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) invites foreign citizens who ate interested in studying for a specialization masterg degree or doctorate conducting graduate~level research or taking part in an undergraduate or graduate~level academic mobility program in Mexico to participate in the 2016 Mexican Government Scholarship Prograll~ for Iuternational Students

The scholarships are offered to more than 180 countries through a series of bilateral conventions multilateral programs and special agreements More than 70 Mexican institutions ofhigher education (lES) participate and all offer academic programs registered wttll the National Council for Science and Teclmology (CONACYT) in the National Program of Quality Graduate Deglees These programs demonstrate the progress made by Mexico in various areas of the sciences and humanities

By offering Mexican government scholarships for international students Mexko strengthens its role as an actor with global responsibility and renews its commitment to cooperation programs that help create highly skilled human capitaL The presence in Mexico of international students academics and scientists helps build pennanent bridges of dialogue that enrich the long-term foreign policy agenda through contributions of exceptional value for the country and for its partners abroad In additionmiddot the Mexican institutions and the academic community benefit fmm the increased internationalization

General Tetms and Conditions

The scholarships are awarded annually for the following

Program Maximum Length of the Scholarship

Undergraduate and graduate mobility programs One academic term (quarter trimester or semester)

Graduate-level research and postdoctoral fellowships 12 months (1 month minimum)

Specializations 1 year

Masters degrees 2 years

Doctorates 3 years

Medical specializations and subspecializations 3 years

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL THE SCHOLARSfTIP BE EXTENDED

Scholarships are not granted for direct PhD programs (combined MA and PhD programs) distance learning programs open or online education

The scholarships are offered for the following institutions and academic programs and are offered in these countries

The following academic programs are not eligible for scholarships business administration plastic surgery accounting marketing dentistry and advertising and related areas

If the graduate studies program requires a preparatory or introductory course the student must cover the cost as it is not included in the MinistlY of Foreign AffairsAMEXCID scholarship The scholarship begins with the first academic term (quarter trimester semester) after the student successfully completes the preparatory course if required

If the academic program requires a thesis and an endmiddotofmiddotcourse exam tIe student IIIl1st finish tlte thesis and take tlte exam before tlte specijiel end date oftIe scllo(lfslip

Individuals already studying in Mexico at an institution of higher education and in an academic program included in the scholarship program may apply for a scholarship However the Ministry of Foreign AffairsAMEXCID scholarship is not retroactive that is it will not cover any expenses incurred before the soholarship is awarded

Requirements for all applicants bull Bachelors Masters or PhD degree as required by the program for which the

scholarship is requested bull Minimum grade point average of eight (80) on a scale of 0 to 10 or the equivalent

for the last academic degree received bull Be accepted to or currently enrolled in a program at one of the participating

bull Apply for graduate programs not available in their country bull Study or do research at institutions located outside of the Mexico City metropolitan

country bull Have not previously received a scholarship from the Mexican government

Applications that meet all of the requiremerlts are subject to review by authorities from the applicants respective countries as part ofthe selection process

bull Health insurance from the Mexiclln Social Security Illstihlte (IMSS) starting in the third month of the soholarship (the schOiarshp recipient must have health insulftnce that covers both major and minor medical expenses and provides lntClnational coverage for the first three mouths in Mexico)

The admissions process of the Mexican institution and its letter of acceptance are independent of the scholarship program Applicants are responsible for applying for admission directly to the academio program of interest

bull The applicant must present a nominating letter from hisher government for the scholarship application to be proc~ssed

Submission of an acceptance letter a nominating letter andor all of the required documents does not automatically result in a scholarship AU applicants go through the selection process described in this announcement

Applicants will be advised in writing by the cOlre~ponding Mexican diplomatic office ifheJshe has been awarded u scholarship The scholarships are nonmiddot transferable and may not be deferred for use in subsequent academic years

General Tetms and Conditions

The scholarships are awarded annually for the following

Program Maximum Length of the Scholarship

Undergraduate and graduate mobility programs One academic term (quarter trimester or semester)

Graduate-level research and postdoctoral fellowships 12 months (1 month minimum)

Specializations 1 year

Masters degrees 2 years

Doctorates 3 years

Medical specializations and subspecializations 3 years

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL THE SCHOLARSfTIP BE EXTENDED

Scholarships are not granted for direct PhD programs (combined MA and PhD programs) distance learning programs open or online education

The scholarships are offered for the following institutions and academic programs and are offered in these countries

The following academic programs are not eligible for scholarships business administration plastic surgery accounting marketing dentistry and advertising and related areas

If the graduate studies program requires a preparatory or introductory course the student must cover the cost as it is not included in the MinistlY of Foreign AffairsAMEXCID scholarship The scholarship begins with the first academic term (quarter trimester semester) after the student successfully completes the preparatory course if required

If the academic program requires a thesis and an endmiddotofmiddotcourse exam tIe student IIIl1st finish tlte thesis and take tlte exam before tlte specijiel end date oftIe scllo(lfslip

Requirements for all applicants bull Bachelors Masters or PhD degree as required by the program for which the

scholarship is requested bull Minimum grade point average of eight (80) on a scale of 0 to 10 or the equivalent

for the last academic degree received bull Be accepted to or currently enrolled in a program at one of the participating

The admissions process of the Mexican institution and its letter of acceptance are independent of the scholarship program Applicants are responsible for applying for admission directly to the academio program of interest

bull The applicant must present a nominating letter from hisher government for the scholarship application to be proc~ssed

Submission of an acceptance letter a nominating letter andor all of the required documents does not automatically result in a scholarship AU applicants go through the selection process described in this announcement

Requirements for all applicants bull Bachelors Masters or PhD degree as required by the program for which the

scholarship is requested bull Minimum grade point average of eight (80) on a scale of 0 to 10 or the equivalent

for the last academic degree received bull Be accepted to or currently enrolled in a program at one of the participating

bull Apply for graduate programs not available in their country bull Study or do research at institutions located outside of the Mexico City metropolitan

area bull Hold faculty or research positions at public universities and scientific research

centers in their country bull Are public officials in charge of areas oX programs of special interest for their

country bull Have not previously received a scholarship from the Mexican government

Applications that meet all of the requiremerlts are subject to review by authorities from the applicants respective countries as part ofthe selection process

bull Monthly stipend of 4 times the minimum salaty in Mexico City for mdergraduate mobility scholarships specializations masters degrees or maqters-Ievel research Spanish language or Mexican culture courses currently the equivalent of $841200 pesos (approximately US $546234)

Monthly stipend of 5 times the minimum salary in Mexico City for doctoral studies and research postdoctoral fellowships and medical specjalizations and subspecializations currently the equivalent of $1051500 pesos (approximately US $68190)

Registration fees and tuition as established by the program at each institution (see the academic programs offered by the participating IES)

bull Health insurance from the Mexiclln Social Security Illstihlte (IMSS) starting in the third month of the soholarship (the schOiarshp recipient must have health insulftnce that covers both major and minor medical expenses and provides lntClnational coverage for the first three mouths in Mexico)

bull ROlU1d~trip intemational airfare at the beginning and end ofthe scholarships bull Transportation from Mexico City to the host institution and back at the start and end

The admissions process of the Mexican institution and its letter of acceptance are independent of the scholarship program Applicants are responsible for applying for admission directly to the academio program of interest

bull The applicant must present a nominating letter from hisher government for the scholarship application to be proc~ssed

Submission of an acceptance letter a nominating letter andor all of the required documents does not automatically result in a scholarship AU applicants go through the selection process described in this announcement

Applicants will be advised in writing by the cOlre~ponding Mexican diplomatic office ifheJshe has been awarded u scholarship The scholarships are nonmiddot transferable and may not be deferred for use in subsequent academic years
