• there is already a wide spectrum of strategic efforts defined and now on the way of implementation: – Strategic Plan of Vienna 2004; – CENTROPE and CCC, – STEP05– and others.
• Unlike these recent strategic and marketing efforts, the specific cooperative student’s project will realize – a specific evaluation of strengths and weaknesses in the
respective home-city – a description of expectations regarding its partner-city– a synthesis of strengths and weaknesses for the twin-city situation– visions of the situation 2020– elaboration of strategic efforts for positioning and marketing

• Conditions of development for the metropolitan agglomeration Vienna-Bratislava
– Identification of potentials for both cities– SWOT-analysis for both cities– Synthesis of strengths and weaknesses on the base of a joint
evaluation• Development of a co-operative vision for a Twin-City
– Identification of potentials and unique characteristics in urban competition on the European level
– Description of basic goals of positioning on the European level• scenario of possible developments• risks and chances
• Strategic Efforts for Positioning – Definition of new forms of urban governance– Elaboration of strategic projects and involvement of stake holders– Elaboration of a planning game “Vision 2020”
