It's not the traditional Cinderella, with traditional, long ballet costumes.

Nen to klasick Popelka, s tradinmy dlouhmi baletnmi kostmy.

But it was also appealing, showing humor, repulsion ... a lot of emotion, feeling, and a lot of acting and pantomime.

Ale bylo to tak pitliv, pln humoru, ale i odpudivosti ...V pbhu se promtalo hodn emoc, pocit, a mnoho herectv a pantomimy.

This was an international production. Did it feel that way to you, as a Czech? Or was it 'Czech'?

Byla to mezinrodn produkce. Psobilo to na Vs tak? Nebo to bylo esk?

It felt 'international' to me. The costumes, the set, the acting techniques 'it came from somewhere else.' That's the feeling, for me.

Psobilo to na m 'mezinrodn'. Kostmy, scna, herectv - 'pochzelo to odnkud jinud.' To je mj pocit.

I was surprised that there was so much humor, and right from the beginning.

Byla jsem pekvapena, tam bylo hned od zatku tolik humoru.

Mary:

I started chuckling right away, but nobody else did. Eventually people caught on that it was OK to laugh or applaud.

Zaala jsem se okamit smt, ale nikdo jin se nesml. Nakonec lidi pochopili, e je vpodku se smt nebo tleskat.

That's the most intimidating thing about the theatre people want to show their enthusiasm but they're afraid to make any 'noise.'

To je velice divn vc v divadle - lid chtj ukzat sv naden, ale boj, aby nedlali 'hluk.'

Absolutely.It's that 'sh-h-h' respect.

You had the opportunity to see a final rehearsal. Did it start and stop a lot?

Zuzana: There was only one moment at the beginning when the father didn't enter on time. They started over, and from then on it was wonderful.

Na zatku tam byl jenom jeden moment, kdy otec nenastoupil vas.Zaali tedy znovu a potom to bylo bjen.

Zuzana:

After the rehearsal, conductor David vec gave some instructions. Then he came onto the stage and 'air-conducted' to show the audience who he was!

Po zkouce dal dirigent David vec njak instrukce, a pak piel na jevit a ukzal se divkm!

Mary:

I guess people aren't used to a live orchestra, which I couldn't even see down in their 'pit.'

Myslm, e lid nejsou zvykl na iv orchestr, kter jsem ani nemohla ve snenm pzem vidt.

Mary:

There were many curtain calls at the end. It makes me happy to see how happy the dancers are then. It's a nice moment.

Na konci byl soubor nkolikrt vyvoln ped oponu. Potilo m, jak moc tastn jsou tanenci. To je moc hezk moment.
