Possible Difficulties Caused by Using OER

• Students not knowing how to download or navigate the material

• Material not being equally easy to use among platforms (phone vs. laptop vs. tablet, etc.

• Additional time to prepare resources• Content in texts being too basic• No more book rep visits (good and bad?)

Possible Benefits Caused by Using OER

• Cost to students• Easily adaptable for visually impaired• Less paper; more trees• Less angst over replacing texts• Programmatically an easy way to

assign last minute courses or maintain consistency
