of the SISS team for many years, and constantly works hard to serve our
international students. We truly appreciate all that she has done for SISS, and
wish her the best of luck with her new job. The following is the description of
her new position on campus:
Sarah’s official title at the College of Letters and Science is an Academic Counselor. As an Academic Counselor in L&S, she will be responsible for
providing in-depth, wide-ranging and complex academic advising to second, third and fourth year undergraduate international students and other special populations.

We will miss you dearly Sarah!

The 14th Annual REACH Retreat
The Cross Cultural Center and Office of Campus Community Relations, in partnership with many other de-
partments, are excited to announce:
The 14th annual REACH Retreat January 10-12, 2014
CONNECTIONS, EMPOWERMENT, FRIENDSHIP, FUN, SELF-REFLECTION, SOCIAL JUSTICE
For the past 14 years the Cross Cultural Center has provided the UC
Davis campus community the unique opportunity to engage in a
cross-cultural and empowering weekend experience. Students,
staff, and faculty dialogue and explore personal and global stories
through large and small group activities. REACH makes it possible to
establish new connections, new friendships, new discoveries, and
provides opportunities to build a more inclusive campus community
experience.
All of this could not be possible without students applying to take
part in this very personal and powerful weekend retreat.
Application deadline: Friday, October 25, 5 p.m.
Fill out application here: http://bit.ly/REACH2014app
First/second-year, new transfer, international, and graduate students are highly
encouraged to apply.
The deadline is fast approaching so we strongly encourage you all to not let this opportunity pass you by. For
more information or questions, please visit http://ccc.ucdavis.edu/reach. Additionally, we invite you to visit

Cross Cultural Center and the International Community
What is the CCC?
The Cross Cultural Center promotes the heritage and
culture of historically underrepresented, currently
underserved and oppressed domestic groups and
ethnic constituencies. We help students learn how to
advocate for positive social change on behalf of those
who identify across the varying intersections of
underrepresented, underserved, and marginalized
communities. We sponsor multicultural arts and
educational programs, symposia, workshops, seminars, lectures, exhibits and performances. The
CCC develops programs and funds opportunities for undergraduates and graduates to enhance
their leadership potential. The CCC serves as a community center for the students, faculty and staff
at UC Davis. The CCC provides a safe space for community members to explore multiple facets of
their identities as well as learn about ethnicity/race and culture. The Cross-Cultural Center (CCC) is
located on the first floor of the Student Community Center (SCC) building.
