The majority of our Noho will only be DAY practises. As we draw closer to the Regionals we

will be having full noho (Sleepovers).

2. Selection Dates:

1. End of Week 8, Term 2 – Select the 40 Kaihaka that will take the stage. (5

Reserves)

The Kapa Whanake will be led by Roimata Panapa, Huiao Keogh and Kimo Te Whareponga-

Moko. All three Kaiako are Manu Tāiko of our Kura and ex-kaihaka of our Kapa Whakataetae

who have returned this year to kura as staff members. Kapa Whanake will begin their

campaign in week 3.

Additional Information:

So all parents are aware practises require students to do a lot of physical activity. Ākonga will need to

bring a change of Kākahu to Kura on Fridays. Students will not be allowed to practise in school uniforms

on Friday afternoon. The kaiako do not want students damaging their school uniforms at Kapa Haka

practises. Lunchtimes are an exception as they are only 25min practises.

Kaihaka will need to bring their own kai and refreshments on the weekends we have day practises.

This helps Kaiako fully focus on the bracket. Can you please ensure your tamaiti comes with a kai to

help sustain them for the day? We have seen some kaihaka come with only a packet of chips for the

day. In order to get the best out of our tamariki they need to be putting in what’s best for them!!! Kia

kaha rā, e hoa mā.

Sports – Students are more than welcome to attend their sporting activities on the Weekends,

however, students will need to organise themselves accordingly so they are not disrupting the mahi

on the floor at Kapa Haka. Students that are absent for long periods of time will need to take it upon

themselves to catch-up. Students will need to inform matua Tokoaitua the Wednesday prior to NOHO

about absentees. This has been our whakaritenga since 2013. If there are any issues with the info

provided, please feel free to contact matua Tokoaitua.

Page 14: Ngā kaupapa o te wā

Should you have any pātai or issues regarding what is outlined in this pānui, please feel free to contact

matua Tokoaitua. Can you please refrain from contacting the other kaiako of the Kapa Whakataetae,

we will like one stream of communication between the kura and the whānau this year.
