A pupil from St. Augustines Primary school Left (Anisha Simak) School, accompanied by the Handsworth Wood Police dog. The Police Team added ‘it was a great experience for everyone’’. Now, the local MP suggested a trip like this should be held every year. This is mainly due to the knowledge gained by the young children in our community, as we know young people have many questions and awarenesses about their communi- ty, trips like this help create a clear understanding for young chil- dren. The pupils from St.Augustines primary school also performed drama about health and safety in front of the police team, showing theirincredible talents whilst they were there. It was a memorable day for all and everyone from the Handsworth community was invited. Great Event ‘‘Help raise awareness for the younger generation’’ By Upasna Gera News Staff Writer Handsworth Police team including police dogs take a trip to St. Augustines primary school. The trip involved discussions about health and safety in the local community, informing young chil- dren the benefits of being aware and careful. The parents of the young children were happy to see their children take in good advice and knowledge of the society around them. It was a brilliant day for all parents, children, and teachers. ‘The event was very enjoyable and went well’ the police team said, as they enjoyed watching childre perform their own drama about safety. The day also involved face painting, and lots of dfifferent performances by the young children in the school. Many others followed the event and joined in with the fun.
