• During the process of planning ETCS Level 1 Vienna – Salzburg and discussing the IDAFF, ÖBB mentioned, that most of the DATA needed for ETCS is included in IDAFF
• The amount of DATA for the Vienna - Salzburg Project seems to be so extensive, that an engineer alone cannot handle it (an experience from the smaller Vienna - Budapest project)

Results and Benefits from the development
• Many of the engineering rules for ETCS had to be analysed and fixed during the work
• The engineering gets complex in complex topology, but could be covered by the rules
• The tool will help to standardise the engineering rules
• The limitations of ETCS level 1 can be clearly visualised to optimise the balise locations especially for TSR
