Yura Harness succeeded to the tradition and technology of its predecessor which was established in 1970 and provided wiring harnesses to Kia Industry (currently Kia Motors) for the Titan E-2000 truck in 1971 and the Brisa sedan in 1974.

”Automobiles are the embodiment of cutting-edge science and technology. They indicate a nation’s technological and economic sophistication and also play a pivotal role in promoting its economic growth. Motor vehicles revolutionized civilization and are undergoing a new stage of evolution: ‘eco-friendly’ automobiles that inflict less impact on the environment and ‘intelligent’ automobiles that epitomize the convergence of ICT.

YURA specializes in producing automotive EEDS components, including wiring harnesses, i.e. the central nerves of an automobile, and related core parts as well as smart junction blocks, FPCB harnesses, and electronic modules.

Amid the rapid change in the auto industry, proprietary technologies are essential to gaining a competitive edge. Thus, YURA focuses on R&D. It set up its R&D center in Pangyo, and over 30% of its employees are research staff. It is developing cutting-edge communication and control modules and core components for eco-friendly motor vehicles to accelerate its preparations for the introduction of future automobiles. YURA pursues zero-defect quality by means of a state-of-the-art management system which monitors all of its business processes ranging from product design to release. YURA has a well-established network of 52 plants in nine countries around the globe including Korea, China, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Russia, and Mexico, which facilitates its global business activities.

New leader in EEDS pursuing electronic modulization and power & Signal Distribution system optimization

Yura Corporation is preparing for the introduction of the next generation of automobiles

by adopting advanced technologies including those for optimization of a wiring harness

system through a vehicle system network, incorporation of a communication function

into a wiring electricity and signal distribution system, and application of intelligent

semiconductors to functions requiring system protection.

It possesses cutting-edge testing equipments and proprietary development systems to ensure perfect product quality. It focuses on research and development of high-tech communication and control modules representing IT convergence such as IGPM (Integrated Gateway Power Module), CM (Central Module), CMK (Comfort Master Key), and DTG (Digital Tachograph). It also manufactures high-voltage cables, connectors, fast chargers, and high-voltage junction blocks for green vehicles, including HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle), PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle), EV (Electric Vehicle), and FCEV (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle), with its own technologies.

Established in 1970, Yura Harness retains tremendous know-how built up over its long

history. Today, it specializes in manufacturing wiring harnesses, a core automotive

application component.

In order to produce zero-defect products, Yura Harness employs a cutting-edge management system that monitors the entire manufacturing process in real time. It realizes synergies by working closely with the wiring harness division of Yura Corporation. Yura Harness operates three factories in Korea and China, and it will continue its tradition as a strong automotive EEDS components producer.

Specializing in the highest-quality ignition systems

Yura Tech engages in research and development of next-generation green vehicle

ignition components and new technologies for vehicle ignition systems.

It manufactures ignition coils, spark plugs, glow plugs, GRU (Glow Relay Units), exhaust gas temperature sensors, and the like. Through direct involvement in new vehicle development from an early phase, the company performs component design and development modulization in collaboration with its OEM Customers. With a view to tapping into the Chinese auto market, it established Yura Rizhao Electronic Science & Technology Limited. In 2009, it embarked on series production of ignition coils and spark plugs. With a full array of vehicle ignition systems satisfying local customers’ needs, Yura Tech is serving as a bridgehead for YURA’s advance into the global market. Yura Tech is already a specialized company in auto ignition systems and is now expanding throughout the world.

Aspiring to provide total IT solutions for the development of eco-friendly zero-emission vehicle components and the production of wiring harnesses

Yura produces wires and connectors for the main material for automotive wiring

harness, and provides total IT solutions for wiring harness manufacturing.

Yura is striving to develop next-generation new materials to produce environment-friendly, zero-emission components for future-oriented green vehicles. 0101 Proprietary Wiring Harness Production Design System

This new proprietary design system automatically and quickly generates production

design plans that are used in a various production stages and pertinent data from

product design plans of a vehicle. This system made significant contribution in

enhancing accuracy and efficiency.

02 PLM (Product Life-cycle Management) System

This in-house and tailor-made system enables users to effectively manage the

process of the entire product development and design process including after

service process. The PLM system has enhanced credibility in our product

management process as the system is not only customized to YURA’s specific

needs, but also closely connected with customers.

03 Testing and Analysis

YURA is committed to running various tests and conducting analysis that will lead to

improved product development ability and technological growth. The tests cover

electrical performance, mechanical strength, environmental durability, and

communication network functionality as well as resistance to electromagnetic pulse,

shock, and corrosion. In addition, YURA works to improve reliability of our products

by performing analysis of raw material and performing an accelerated life test.

04 World class technology for ignition systems

YURA developed a semi-infinite platinum plug and iridium plug, which have

enhanced durability over normal spark plugs. In addition, the stick type ignition coil

was newly developed to provide better energy efficiency, be light weight, and reduce

costs. Furthermore, the coil freed us from the distributor and high voltage cables.

Another example of domestic technical prowess is the eco-friendly ‘engine starting

assistance device’ called a metal glow plug and a ceramic glow plug, which enable

seamless starts in cold weather and guarantee less emission. In addition, YURA is

the first in Korea to develop a EGT sensor which can accurately measure the

exhaust temperature of internal combustion engines.

YURA’s product quality is recognized by its customers and is founded upon ‘adherence to

principles.’ YURA fully introduced YPMS that promotes business transparency and

information sharing as well as YQMS, a system for quality management. It also built an IT

system which manages information on production, business administration, and customer

complaints in real time. In addition, it is improving its competitiveness by developing an

independent professional knowledge education system and an in-house expert training

manual for all of its employees. YURA’s acquisition of ‘five-star quality certification’ from

Hyundai-Kia Motors (the highest level attainable by the suppliers) is an outcome of its quality

management and compliance with principles.
