channels.
Free ATM, Net Banking, Mobile Banking, Phone Banking and 24 hours services.
Very easy to access and use.
A highly personalized services provided by the bank.
Weakness Unawareness about all Direct Banking Channels due to less advertisement.
Other private banks have started direct banking channels it may put some
competition to HDFC Bank in near future.

Opportunities As Nationalized Banks and Co-operative Banks do not provide Direct
Banking services, so HDFC Bank can attract more customers.
Centralized banking makes easy for HDFC Bank to provide services to
customers.
Threats Competition from other private sector banks.
Attacks of web hackers. Personalized attention i.e. relationship banking should be reduced, thus by
creating a distance between the bank and its customers.

FINDINGS OF THE STUDY
Most of the people are aware of Internet-banking,either fully or partially.
Advertisements play a major role in making peopleaware of Internet-banking.
Most of people use online services so that the can viewtheir balances transfer funds between the accounts.
As regards the benefits accruing, Time saving came outto be the major benefit followed by easy processing,inexpensive and easy fund transfer.
Insecurity seems to be a major problem in the usage ofInternet-banking which arises from the misuse andmisplacement of the card.

Conclusion and Recommendations
The banking sector has undoubtedly been early adopter of
technology. From computerization to networking to ATMs and
now Interne-banking, banks have moved up the value chain
Today, most of the banks are dependent on computers and IT
for even basic functions.
The banks should come forward with more meaningful
advertisements and awareness campaigns to create
awareness among customers regarding Internet-banking.
. The message that all banks should convey to their customers
is: security technology is proven and safe and will never be
detrimental to their interests.
