Her hands would tremble and she would feel very anxious. She took medication and weaned it off after six months. She has been coming to the Miracle Service for healing. Last month after seeing the doctor, he said her hormone levels had returned to normal and right now her hands no longer tremble. Two weeks ago, Peter Cheong went for an MRI because of renal problems. They found stones in both his kidneys (2.8mm, 1.7mm and 1.6mm). The doctor recommended him to see a specialist. Yesterday, the specialist could not find any stones. They did an ultrasound and still could not find anything. Praise the Lord! Samuel Tan sprained his neck last Saturday due to vigorous exercise. He prayed at the Miracle Service for healing. As witnesses in Heaven, they are looking at our spiritual progress. We are continuing in the race of life which they were in before. They had completed their part of the race of life and are now in Heaven. And they had the same struggles we are confronted with now. But they won and are now cheering us on while we run our part of the race. They focused on Jesus the author and developer of their faith. What Jesus had wonderfully done in their lives, He will do the same for us. The author then talks about Jesus who ran a much more difficult race than we are running and for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross. He suffered excruciating pain, but He faced it willingly so that we can be saved. Because the innocent must die for the guilty, Jesus is the only one qualified to bear our sins. He ran a perfect race on earth and He wants to show us how to do it so that we will not miss Heaven. Jesus overcame shame to die a shameful death on the cross. He had no sins, He only carried our sins. After Jesus died, He rose again, ascended to the Father and sat at the right hand of God. He poured down the gifts of the Holy Spirit on us. Lighthouse Discipleship Program will be offering a course that is spiritually significant to believers. It is entitled Spiritual Gifts and Anointing.

Through this course, you will be taught the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit and how they operate in the lives of believers, using practical examples from the Scriptures and ministerial experience. The emphasis is on the operation, purpose and benefits of these gifts in the Church today.

You will also learn what the anointing of God is, the biblical basis for individual and corporate anointing, why we need the anointing and how to tap into the unending source of God’s power. Come and find out for yourself how to be led and used by God in a powerful way!

All are welcome to attend the course.

S t r a i g h t T h i n k i n gBy Charles R. Swindoll

Scriptures: Acts 23:11–22

Have you ever felt the ground move under your feet? Do you know what it's like to pitch from side to side in a small boat on strong seas? Have you ever had to run for cover, dodge bullets, or duck out of the way of advancing troops? Remarkably, some people around the world could answer, Yes! to all three questions. Most of us only imagine such scenes.

Still, everyone sooner or later faces the reality of feeling as if life is spinning out of control. That may describe you today. Left unchecked, fear will run its course and paralyze you to the point of helplessness. If you're not careful, you'll spend your days wringing your hands and obsessing over your encroaching circumstances. That will cause you to focus on what might happen instead of what God has promised.

Not Paul. He understood something about the sovereignty of God. That clear understanding allowed him to think straight and remain calm in crisis. That kind of straight-thinking calmness is rooted in the promises of God's Word. Take, for example, the promise in Psalm 46:1-3: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride."

Like Paul, we need to learn to think straight, even if the foundations of the earth shift beneath our feet. That takes a heart willing to trust His Word, submit to His plan, then deliberately and consciously relax.

If He was able to stir up four hundred and seventy-two earthly bodyguards to get Paul from Jerusalem to Caesarea, safely and securely, He will have no trouble getting you from here to wherever He wants you to be, safely and securely. After all, how many angels are there?

And by the way, when you think straight about all this, you'll realize you only need one.
