Managing Your Life
Manage your time
When you have an idea, write it down.
Review your notes from class
• Many people take notes, and then don’t ever look at them again!
Turn off the tv and music when studying.
It is easier to concentrate in a quiet place.
Keep a calendar
A calendar helps you organize your life so you don’t forget important events.
Take study breaks.
• It is important to rest sometimes to let the knowledge you learned digest.
Don’t watch TV all day
This man is a couch potato.
Don’t look at your cell phone when you are with friends and family.
Find a hobby or join a club.
Don’t waste your money.
If you put your money in the bank instead of spending it, it will make more money for you.
Make a “to-do” list
It will help you stay organized and get things done.
You should also make a shopping list of things you need to buy.
Work smart, not hard.
Don’t waste energy doing things that are not helpful.
Perfectionism • Nobody is perfect. You don’t have to do
everything perfectly.• Don’t cry if you get one answer wrong on a
test.
If you try to do everything perfectly, you will never get anything done.
Don’t procrastinate
Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
When do you procrastinate?
Keep your area clean
• Having a messy house or work area makes you look bad.
Don’t drink caffeine at night
Use google maps when traveling
Nobody likes getting lost. Google maps tells you where you are at all times.
Get rid of things you don’t use
Don’t be a hoarder. Less is more.
You don’t need expensive things to be happy.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions
Think before you complain.
People that complain too much are annoying.
You should only complain about important things.
Don’t worry about what other people think.
You may mess up a good thing when you try to make it better.
Don’t keep your feelings bottled up.
It isn’t healthy to keep all your feelings inside.
Let them out in a safe way.
What is some advice you would give to someone younger than you about managing life?
