DC Report
~ DC Report ~
Hi everyone,
At our last rally, (4th June, 2017), we had 4, with 21riders taking part. The weather
was kind to us, and, as usual, it was a busy rally. As always, riders enjoyed the
barrel work, as well as testing their skills over some different cross country jumps;
Nicki challenged riders with their Flat work, while Sue had another interesting pole
grid to try.
We had:-
Nicki Chalmers- Flatwork
Mel Gillespie- Cross Country
Pat Collins- Barrel Racing
Sue Hutson- Pole Work.
Next rally- Look out for the program for this rally. You will all ride a dressage test
and be judged, then do a SJ course and a Cross Country round. We will be having a
set up day on Saturday (July 1st) from 1pm, to number, flag and clean up some of
the XC Course. Hopefully, with enough helpers, it won’t take too long. Nicki will
also talk about the help needed, and work out a roster, for the upcoming HT & CT
Event. This will be a big weekend, but hopefully be a great learning day for all.
Julie Robins
(District Commissioner)

MPC Members Out ‘n’ About
~ MDHPC Winter Woollies Gymkhana 2017 ~
Ella H, and her pony, Abby, recently attended the MDHPC Gymkhana They placed
in 7 out of 8 events, in both pony club and open rings. This was their first
competition together. Super effort girls
Elly C took her new horse, Ashmead Mansfield, for his first ever outing, to the
MDHPC WW Gymkhana. Literally coming straight from the ‘breakers’, un-brushed
(even had hay in his tail, lol), and wearing a head-stall, (we don’t normally attend
‘shows’). Manny behaved impeccably, and the combination received a ribbon for
their efforts. Elly is very excited about the future with her new boy.
HT & CT Working Bee- Saturday July 22
Our upcoming HT & CT will be a fantastic event, and a great way to ‘show off’ our
fabulous new Cross Country Course. To ensure the day runs smoothly, we are
having a Working Bee the day before (Saturday, July 22).
‘ALL HANDS ON DECK’
We need as many people as possible, Club members, family, friends, (anyone
really), to help out for the whole weekend, PLEASE. If you could set aside just an
hour or 2 for both days, it would be GREATLY appreciated.
PLEASE, if you are unable to help out at the Working Bee, or on the Event day,
would you kindly let Nicki know, to assist her with planning details.
