Comparisons of Equality 1. Tan + adjective/adverb + como

El libro es tan grande como el otro.

2. Tanto/a/os/as + noun + comoTengo tanto dinero como Bill Gates.(tanto como means as much as and does not show agreement)Nadie habla tanto como ella. Nobody talks as much as she does.

Intensifiers 1. Tan + adjective

Ella es tan cariñosa.

2. Adjective + ísimo/a/os/asElla es bellísima.

If ísimo is added to a word ending :In a vowel – drop the last vowel

In a Z – change to a CIn a CO – change to a QUIn a GO – change to a GU

Comparisons of Inequality 1. más + adjective/adverb/noun + que

El libro es más grande que el otro.

2. menos + adj./adv./noun + queSoy menos alto que Tom Seleck.The word DE is used instead of que in front of numbers.

que as opposed to affirmatives that are used in English.

The word DE is used after superlatives as compared to the QUE after comparatives.

Superlatives of Inequality The definite article is not used with

The neuter LO precedes a superlative adverb followed by a phrase expressing possibility.
