FRANCE
Loreal Factory Visit
We were honoured to be given the chance to tour the production process first hand within its
highly stylised and award winning f actory in Par is.
The f actory is situated in Par is, where it manuf actures Garnier product line.
The assembly line is fully automated with very less humam inter vention.
L¶Oreal is now present in 130 countr ies.
It tar gets a wide array of customers through 25 global brands to maintain its position as
market leader .
Their most outstanding results is that 2009 is their 23rd consecutive double-digit growth
year .
As most processes are highly automated, each production line is usually operated by one or
two staff, whose responsibilities are great as they manage the entire line of production f rom
star t to finish. Operators in the f actory work in three shifts in order to maximise resources.

The depth of knowledge of its marketing staff and network ing oppor tunities off ered, to the
technology present in the manuf actur ing process L¶Oreal shared great insights that we will
surely take on board as we enter the cor porate world.
City 2-Clermont-Ferrand
Clermont-Ferrand sits on the plain of Limagne in the Massif Central and is surrounded by a
major industr ial area. The city is f amous f or the chain of volcanoes, the Chaîne des Puys
surrounding it. The f amous dormant volcano Puy-de-Dôme (10 km f rom the city) is one of the
highest of these and well-known f or the telecommunication antennas that sit on its top and are
visible f rom f ar away.

City 3- Lyon
Lyon has a long cultural inf luence on France and the world. The city is known f or its histor ical
and architectural landmarks and is a UNESCO World Her itage Site. Lyon was histor ically
known as an impor tant area f or the production and weaving of silk and in modern times has
developed a reputation as the capital of gastronomy in France

Economically, Lyon is a major centre f or bank ing and also the chemical, pharmaceutical, and
biotech industr ies. The city contains a significant software industry with a par ticular f ocus on
video games, and in recent years has f ocussed on a growing local star t-up sector
SWITZERLAND
CITY 1- GENEVA
GENEVA is the second-most-populous city in Switzerland (after Zur ich)
Geneva is a global city, a financial centre, and a worldwide centre f or diplomacy and the most
impor tant UN international co-operation centre with New York thanks to the presence of
numerous international or ganizations, including the headquar ters of many of the agencies of the
United Nations.

GERMANY:
BMW WELT (MUNICH)
BMW Welt, Munich operates in co-operation with other BMW f acilities in the local community,
par ticularly the BMW Museum and BMW Headquar ters.
BMW Welt f ocuses on strengthening the dialogue with customers and visitors by showing a
wide range of BMW cars and motorcycles, and providing vehicle distr ibution, par ticularly the
creation of a special exper ience with regards customer collection of an ordered vehicle. BMW
Welt also off ers shops with BMW auxiliary products, as well as a fully ser viced gastronomic
restaurant. In the meeting f or um, BMW Welt off ers conf erence rooms and the oppor tunity to
stage media events. The building often houses exhibitions related to new BMW models.

MERCEDES BENZ-STUTGAR T
On 16,500 square meters of exhibition space, the intriguing new building accommodates not only 160
vehicle exhibits but also numerous additional offers including restaurants and museum shops.
A milestone of modern architecture
When approaching from the factory gates or indeed from the eastern fringe of Stuttgart, a view of a unique
new building is awaiting the visitor. Designed by UN Studio, one of the world¶s most highly esteemed
architectural firms, the museum would be worth a visit for its architecture alone.
On 16,500 square meters of exhibition space, the intriguing new building accommodates not only 160
vehicle exhibits but also numerous additional offers including restaurants and museum shops.

Production
Engines, axles, transmissions, components incl. "upstream" facilities foundry and forge

The main plant: Daimler has concentrated the development, production, and shipment of engines, transmissions, and
axles for the Mercedes-Benz Cars division at the Untertürkheim location.
Also located in the main plant are the Daimler AG headquarters, parts of the Commercial Vehicles division, the
research and development unit, and a steeply banked curve for testing new vehicles.
