Live video surveillance of escape routes and real-time sniper support

A successful CASO mission is one without casualties among civil population and the operating force, with synchronized action to prevent targets from escaping a cordoned off area.

But ground conditions are rarely ideal. Real-time mission co-ordination is the biggest challenge. Disturbances like sound of explosions/gunshots during an operation, dynamically changing situational awareness updates of enemy and target allocation, make the mission a challenging one.

VNL’s Live Co-ordination System for CASO (LCSC) offers task-oriented co-ordination kits that work as a roundabout co-ordination system between each member of the sniper unit and the unit commander.

LCSC-Live Co-ordination System for CASO

VNL’s Live Co-ordination System for CASO (LCSC) allows better command and control of sniper operations, with real-time, coordinated, accurate decision-making. The two kits, in conjunction with each other, work as a roundabout co-ordination system between each member of the sniper unit and the unit commander.

LCSC also creates a surveillance layer, covering possible escape routes, by deploying fixed EO sensors, for visually cordoning-off a target area. The composite video feed is simultaneously relayed directly to the unit commander, acting as a force multiplier, enabling a commander to execute a well-timed, co-ordinated, quick response to a crisis situation.

Advanced, compact and lightweight, VNL’s solution offers decision options to commanders that will increase the success rate in a CASO supported by the sniper unit. To increase mission efficiencies, the solution is spread out in the following kits:

TACTICAL LTE NIOB KIT Available as an easy-to-carry manpack, this kit serves as the tactical network core of the solution. With its dedicated wide-range coverage, it provides real-time, secure transmission of voice, high-speed video, and data exchange facilities between all members of a sniper unit.

Rapidly deployable in less than 5 minutes, it facilitates efficient target location allocation, and quick, optimal positioning of sniper units. VNL’s proprietary anti-jamming feature in this kit makes all transmission jamming resistant. The kit includes:

1. LTE NiOB (4 hours internal backup)

2. IP backhaul radio

3. Additional power pack (24 hours backup)

ESCAPE ROUTE VIDEO SURVEILLANCE KIT A visual surveillance layer for possible escape routes is added via covert fixed EO sensors, with the composite feed relayed directly to the unit commander.

Based on sensitive and advanced motion detection, these sensors are remotely managed, with an auto pan/tilt and zoom feature that facilitates accurate spotting of a target’s movement at identified escape routes.

In case of any activity at the identified escape route, the EO sensors take snapshots and relay it the commander room for pre-emptive action. Kit includes:

PORTABLE COMMAND CENTER PORTABLE INTELLIGENCE NODE

With a dedicated private, tactical LTE network, Portable Command Center generates a common operating picture for the unit commander, with a distinct clarity in video streams and other data exchange formats – all enabling fast, accurate decision-making. A composite video feed from all the live cameras in the purview of the cordoned off area, along with Blue Force tracking data, is available to the commander. This facilitates real-time situational analysis of the action between spotter-sniper and the consequent target acquisition. The kit includes:

1. Rugged PC (4 hour backup)

2. LTE CPE / Dongle

3. Hand-held display (optional)

4. Command and control software

With its own tactical, private LTE network, Portable Intelligence Node enables intelligence gathering from all snipers/spotters stationed at different co-ordinates, along with communicating on-target/off-target information to all snipers in one go to facilitate synchronous shots. All the camera feeds are relayed to the unit commander for precision situation awareness. The kit includes:
