In the SVDO sentences, highlight the direct object. In the case of SVSC sentences, highlight the predicate nominative or the predicate adjective. EXAMPLES 1. IDENTIFYING  BASIC  SENTENCE  PATTERNS  

 

 

DIRECTIONS  :  Identify  the  basic  pattern  of  each  sentence:  S-­V,  S-­V-­DO,  or  S-­V-­SC.  In  S-­V  

sentences  highlight  the    intransitive  verb  .  In  the  S-­V-­DO  sentences,  highlight  the    direct  object  .
