INTRODUCTION

• Aerodynamics is the study of how air flows under , over , and around an object to increase all the aspects of car like speed , efficiency , stability , look.

• Performance of your car = Aerodynamics styling

Forces on Car Body• Four kinds of forces may act on a car body:

• Lift

• Drag

• Weight

• Thrust your car behaves like airofoil.

LIFT It is the sum of all the dynamic forces on a body normal to the direction of external flow around the body. DRAG It sum of all the dynamic forces in the direction of fluid flow , so its act opposite to the direction of object.

weight Its just the weight of object in motion . It affects the acceleration of the object.

Thrust Force produced in the opposite direction to drag that is higher than drag force so that the body can move through the fluid (air).

Effects of aerodynamics on engine performance

• power transmitted by the engine losses up to 25% due to lack of aerodynamics shape of the car .

• To we can increase the power up to 25% by making a perfect aerodynamic styling of body of car

Aerodynamic design tip:• Keep the vehicle low to ground.• Cover the wheel wells .• Avoid open area .• Make corner round instead of sharp .

• The body should be as smooth and continuous as possible.

• There should be no sharp angles.

• All body panels should have minimum gap.
