Ken Schwaber- The Early Years• Born on Mar 1945 in Wheaton,

Illinois US.

• Graduated from the Mechanical EngineeringU.S Merchant Marine Academy.

• Early in his career, Ken tried unsuccessfully to make waterfall software project successfully.

• In 1990, he started using Scrum to build the software products.

• From 1995 to 2001 he tested out and refined Scrum.

• In 2001, he were amongst the 17 signatories created the Agile Software Development Manifesto.

• Ken Schwaber has recently become more recognized with achievements from the Scrum business development process.

Ken Schwaber- The Founding Of Scrum

• Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland conceived the Scrum process in the early 90’s.

• Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland first co-presented Scrum in 1995.

• They codified Scrum in order to present it at the OOPSLA conference in Austin, Texas (US) and published the paper “SCRUM Software Development Process”.

Ken Schwaber- Industry Contributions

• More than 30 years experienced of the software development industry as a software developer project manager, product manager, industry consultant.

• Ken has spent the almost his past 20 years developing Scrum and working with the organizations around world to help them take advantage of it.

• In February 2001, He was amongst the 17 software development leaders creating the Manifesto for Agile Software Development.

• Following the Agile Manifesto, the Agile Alliance was founded with Ken Schwaber being its first chairman.

Ken Schwaber- Industry Contributions

• In 2002, Ken Schwaber founded the Scrum Alliance with Mike Cohn and Esther Derby, with Ken chairing the organization.

• Schwaber initially attempted to develop Scrum.org’s programs while part of the Scrum Alliance.

Scrum Alliance End & New Beginning

• After a deep disagreement with the board regarding assessments, certification, and a developer program, Ken resigned from the Scrum Alliance in the fall of 2009.

• He founded then Scrum.org to further improve the quality and effectiveness of Scrum, mainly through the Professional Scrum series.

• With the first publication of the Scrum Guide in 2010, and its incremental updates in 2011 and 2013, Jeff and Ken established the globally recognized body of knowledge of Scrum.

• Ken realized that the benefits of Scrum are not limited to software and product development.

• He has adapted this successful strategy for several other industries including: finance, healthcare, higher education and telecom.

• Ever since its first publication in 1995 up to now, Scrum has been adopted by a vast amount of software development companies around the world. It is today recognized as the most applied framework for agile software development. More than 1000 books have been published on Scrum.

Schwaber also currently operates a successful blog called “Telling it Like It Is, The Ken Schwaber’s Blog. His entire blog is dedicated to the business world, and how any business can become fully functional within a short amount of time. He writes inspirational pieces that can help even the most disorganized business to find structure and in return, make a profit.

• Over the last five years he has formalized Scrum, helped many organizations successfully deploy products and systems using Scrum, and co-authored Scrum, Agile Software Development with Mike Beedle.
