الرهحن الرهحيم بسم الله

Allaah Says,

نههۥ فٱعلم إله إله لا أ [19: محمد] ٱلله

So Know, [O Muhammad ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص], That Laa Ilaaha Ill-Allaah (None Has The Right To Be Worshipped

But Allaah)

And Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص Said,

Understanding:

The Translation Of Kalimah At-Tawheed Is – “There Is No Deity Worthy Of Worship In Truth

Except Allaah”. What Meaning We Must Know From Kalimah At-Tawheed Is The Meaning Of إله

➢ What Is The Meaning Of إله ? There Are 2 Words معبود بحق - So, The Meaning Of إله Is معبود

Where Did This Meaning Come From?

➢ The Proof Is , Allaah Says ,

لم خاف عليكم عذاب يوم أ

ا أ إن ا إله ٱلله ن له تعبدوا

[26]هود: ٢٦أ

That You Worship None But Allaah, Surely, I Fear For You The Torment Of A Painful

Day.

➢ A Part Of Aayah Says ا إله ٱلله ا There Is له تعبدوا Mentioned In The Aayah In Place تعبدوا

Of إله So , We Know That The Meaning Of إله Is معبود The Part “In Truth” Is Not In Kalimah

At-Tawheed . The Word بحق Is Not In ل إله إل هللا There Is Proof For This As Well And It Is As

Allaah Says,

نه ما يدعون من هو ٱلق وأ نه ٱلله

لك بأ هو ٱلعل ٱلكبي ذ نه ٱلله

٦دونهۦ هو ٱلبطل وأ

[62]الحج:

That Is Because Allaah He Is The Truth (The Only True God Of All That Exists, Who Has

No Partners Or Rivals With Him), And What They (The Polytheists) Invoke Besides Him,

It Is Batil (Falsehood) And Verily, Allaah He Is The Most High, The Most Great.

Let Us Analyze Kalimah At-Tawheed ال ، اله ، اال ، هللا Grammatically. ال Is النافية للجنس

(Negation Of All And Every اله ). اله Is Supporting Noun Of ال. The News Of ال Is Omitted And

This Omitted Information Is Called “In Truth”. So As Per Arabic Grammar Also The Word Is بحق

Also

Present And There Is Clear Proof In This Aayah Of Qur-Aan That Allaah Is The Only Deity

Worthy Of Worship In Truth (معبود بحق } .(

Pillars:

➢ There Are Two Pillars Of Kalimah At-Tawheed;

”Is “To Deny”, “To Reject نفى And The Meaning Of نفى .1

”Meaning “To Affirm”, “To Recognize – اثبات .2

1. First Pillar Is “To Deny”. What Do We Must Deny?

To Deny Worshipping All The Deities . The First Pillar Means Deny Worshipping All The

Deities Whether An Idol , Stone , Tree, Sun , Moon , Angel , Prophets, Or Saints

2. Second Pillar Is “To Affirm” Or “To Recognize”. The Meaning Is To Specify All Types Of

Worship For Allaah Alone. Whether It Is Salaah , Zakah, Hajj, Du’aa , Seeking Help , Fulfilling Vows

, Sacrifice , Fear , Hope , Absolute Trust And So Forth

From Where We Have Taken That There Are Two Pillars Of Kalimah At-Tawheed? There Is Denial

In The First Part ل إله And Affirmation In The Second Part إل هللا.Deny Every False God. Now

What Is The Proof That The Idols, TheTrees And The Stones Were Worshipped?

1. Allaah Says:

ى ت وٱلعزه فرءيتم ٱللهخرى ١٩أ

ة ٱثلهاثلة ٱل [20-19]النجم: ٢٠ومنو

Have You Then Considered Al-Lat, And Al-'Uzza (Two Idols Of The Pagan Arabs).

And Manat (Another Idol Of The Pagan Arabs), The Other Third?

➢ Note –

❖ Laat Was A White Stone Which Was The Deity Of The People Of Taif.

❖ Uzza Was A Tree Between Makkah And Taif

❖ Manat. These Are Idols Carved Out Of Stones And Trees.

2. Proof Of That Sun And Moon Were Worshiped, Allaah Says:

قمر واودجسٱ هللمس ول لل ل تسجدوا للشه مس وٱلقمر ل وٱنلههار وٱلشه ومن ءايته ٱله

ي خلقهنه إن كنتم إيهاه تعبدون [37]فصلت: ٣٧ٱله

And From Among His Signs Are The Night And The Day, And The Sun And The Moon.

Prostrate Not To The Sun Nor To The Moon, But Prostrate To Allah Who Created Them, If

You (Really) Worship Him.

3. Angels And Prophets عليهم السالم Were Made معبود” And Called Upon. And The

Proof Is , Allaah Says:

ن تتهخذوا ٱلمل ئكة وٱنلهبي مركم أ

نتم ول يأ

مركم بٱلكفر بعد إذ أ

يأربابا أ

ن أ

سلمون [80]آل عمران: ٨٠م

Nor Would He Order You To Take Angels And Prophets For Lords (Gods). Would He

Order You To Disbelieve After You Have Submitted To Allah's Will?

4. Were Saints (Awliyaa) Also Made Deities?

Answer : Yes! Allaah Says:

ول ئك .5ين ٱ أ هم لوسيلة ٱ ربهم إل يبتغون يدعون له ي

قرب أ

ويخافون ۥرحته ويرجون أ

[57: اإلسراء] ٥٧مذورا كن ربك عذاب إنه ۥا عذابه

Those Whom They Call Upon [Like 'Iesa (Jesus) - Son Of Maryam (Mary), 'Uzair

(Ezra), Angel, Etc.] Desire (For Themselves) Means Of Access To Their Lord (Allah), As

To Which Of Them Should Be The Nearest And They ['Iesa (Jesus), 'Uzair (Ezra),

Angels, Etc.] Hope For His Mercy And Fear His Torment. Verily, The Torment Of

Your Lord Is Something To Be Afraid Of!

1. Salaah And Zakah Are Worship, Allaah Says:

ة كو ٱلزه ة ويؤتوا لو ٱلصه اء ويقيموا ملصي ل ٱلين حنفا ٱلله إله لعبدوا ا مرواا أ وما

لك دين ٱلقيمة ٥ ]البينة: 5[ وذ

And They Were Commanded Not, But That They Should Worship Allah, And Worship

None But Him Alone (Abstaining From Ascribing Partners To Him), And Perform

As-Salat (Iqamat-As-Salat) And Give Zakah: And That Is The Right Religion.

2. Hajj Is Worship And Its Proof Is, Allaah Says:

غني عن ع ٱنلهاس حج ٱليت من ٱستطاع إله سبيل ومن كفر فإنه ٱلله ولله

ٱلعلمي ٩٧ ]آل عمران: 97[And Hajj (Pilgrimage To Makkah) To The House (Ka'bah) Is A Duty That Mankind

Owes To Allah, Those Who Can Afford The Expenses (For One's Conveyance, Provision

And Residence); And Whoever Disbelieves [I.E. Denies Hajj (Pilgrimage To Makkah),

Then He Is A Disbeliever Of Allah], Then Allah Stands Not In Need Of Any Of The

'Alamin (Mankind And Jinns).

3. We Have Known That Salaah, Zakah, Hajj, Fasting All These Are Worship. Is Supplication

Worship?

Yes! Du’aa Is Worship , Allaah Says:

ستجب دعونا ٱ ربكم وقال ين ٱ إنه لكم أ ون له سيدخلون عبادت عن يستكب

[60: غافر] ٦٠داخرين جهنهم

And Your Lord Said: "Invoke Me , [I.E. Believe In My Oneness (Islamic

Monotheism)] (And Ask Me For Anything) I Will Respond To Your (Invocation).

Verily! Those Who Scorn My Worship [I.E. Do Not Invoke Me, And Do Not Believe In

My Oneness, (Islamic Monotheism)] They Will Surely Enter Hell In Humiliation!".

4. Seeking Help Is Also An Act Of Worship, Allaah Says:

[5: الفاتحة] ٥نستعي إويهاك نعبد إيهاك

It Is You Alone [O Allah] That We Worship And It Is You Alone That We Ask For Help.

➢ So , Asking For Help Is Worship And Allaah Has The Right On Everything Upon Which He

Alone Is Capable. Seeking Refuge “Isteaaza” We Say “جيم We Seek ”اعوذبالل من الشيطان الر

Refuge Of Allaah

To Save Us From The Evil Of Shaitaan . In The Same Way , We Recite -

عوذ قل [1: الفلق] ١لفلق ٱ برب أ

عوذ قل [1: الناس] ١نلهاس ٱ برب أ

5. Sacrifice Is Worship. Allaah Says:

[2: الكوثر] ٢نر ٱو لربك فصل

So Pray To Your Lord [With Gratitude By Standing Upright , Raising The Hands And

Then Placing One Hand Over The Other On The Chest] And Sacrifice [To Him Alone]..

7.Fulfilling Vows Is Worship , Allaah Says:

يوفون ه كن يوما ويخافون نلهذر ٱب [7: اإلنسان] ٧مستطيا ۥش

They (Are Those Who) Fulfill (Their) Vows, And They Fear A Day Whose Evil Will Be

Wide-Spreading.

So, It Is Proved Here That Fulfilling Vows Is Also Worship And Is The Right Of Allaah.

6. Fear Is Worship , Allaah Says:

ما لكم إنه يطن ٱ ذ اءه يوف لشه ولاؤمني كنتم إن وخافون تافوهم فل ۥأ ١٧٥م

[175: عمران آل]

It Is Only Shaitan (Satan) That Suggests To You The Fear Of His Auliya' [Supporters

And Friends (Polytheists , Disbelievers In The Oneness Of Allah And In His

Messenger , Muhammad So Fear Them Not , But Fear Me , If You Are

(True) Believers.

9 . Hope Is Also Worship , Allaah Says:

كن فمن اء يرجوا حدا ۦا ربه بعبادة يشك ول صلحا عمل فليعمل ۦربه لقا ١١٠أ

[110: الكهف]

Say (O Muhammad ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص): "I Am Only A Man Like You. It Has Been

Inspired To Me That Your Ilah (God) Is One Ilah (God I.E. Allah). So Whoever Hopes

For The Meeting With His Lord, Let Him Work Righteousness And Associate None As A

Partner In The Worship Of His Lord.

10. Absolute Trust (Tawakkal) Is Also Worship , Allaah Says:

ٱ وع لله واا ؤمني كنتم إن فتوكه [23: المائدة] ٢٣م

…And Put Your Trust In Allah If You Are Believers Indeed.

Conditions:

What Are The Conditions Of Kalimah At-Tawheed . There Are 8 Conditions :

1- Knowledge: To Have The Knowledge Of Meaning And Explanation Of Kalimah At Tawheed ل

. And Its Opposite Is Ignorance , إله إل هللا

2- Certainty: To Have Certainty On The Meaning And Explanation Of Kalimah At-Tawheed

ل إله إل هللا And Its Opposite Is Doubt. The Meaning Of ل إله إل هللا

“There Is No Deity Worthy Of Worship In Truth Except Allaah”.

3- Sincerity: To Confess ل إله إل هللا With Sincerity , Its Opposite Is Shirk .

4- Love: To Confess ل إله إل هللا With Love , Its Opposite Is Hatred/Grudge .

5- Truthfulness: To Confess ل إله إل هللا Truly And Its Opposite Is Lie.

6- Acceptance: To Accept ل إله إل هللا And Its Demands From Tongue , Its Opposite Is Rejection.

7- Submission: To Act And Follow ل إله إل هللا And Its Demands And Its Opposite Is Non-

Compliance / Leaving Off .

8- Rejection Of Taghut : Along With The Acceptance Of ل إله إل هللا One Should Also Reject All

The False Deities Along With Testifying To The Kalimah At-Tawheed.

1. First Condition Of The Kalimah At-Tawheed Is Knowledge - Knowledge Means To

Know The Meaning Of ل إله إل هللا And Its Explanation . Its Opposite Is Ignorance . The One

Who Does Not Know That “There Is No Deity Worthy Of Worship In Truth Except Allaah”

Has Ignorance In Him . Its Proof Is , Allaah Says:

نهه علم ٱف ٱ إله إله لا ۥأ [19: محمد] لله

So Know (O Muhammad ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) That Laa Ilaaha Ill-Allah (None Has The

Right To Be Worshipped But Allah)

2. Second Condition Is Certainty - It Is To Have Certainty Upon The Right Meaning Of

Kalimah At-Tawheed. If The Whole World Gathers To Separate That Certainty Out From Me

And Tries To Teach Me Any Other Lesson Regarding The Meaning Of Kalimah At-Tawheed,

Then I Must Reject All Of Them Because I Have Certainty That This Is The Right Meaning Of

Kalimah At-Tawheed. The Proof For ‘Certainty’ Is As Allaah Says:

ما ين ٱ لمؤمنون ٱ إنه له ءامنوا ٱب لم ثمه ۦورسول لله يرتابوا لهم وجهدوا مونفسهم بأ

ف وأ

ٱ سبيل ول ئك للهدقون ٱ هم أ [15: الحجرات] ١٥لصه

Only Those Are The Believers Who Have Believed In Allah And His Messenger , And Afterward

Doubt Not But Strive With Their Wealth And Their Lives For The Cause Of Allah . Those ! They

Are The Truthful.

3. You Have Certainty , But Do You Have Ikhlaas (Sincerity) ? The 3rd Condition Is Ikhlaas.

When We Say We Accept “ل إله إل هللا” With Ikhlaas , It Means We Accept It By Our Heart

(With The Belief Of Heart) And By Words (Accepting It By Saying It) That O Allaah! We

Will Not Do Shirk Ever , We Will Not Relate Partners With You Ever.

Allaah Says:

ا وما ا مروا إله أ ٱ لعبدوا [5: البينة] لين ٱ ل ملصي لله

And They Were Commanded Not, But That They Should Worship Allah, And Worship None But

Him Alone (Abstaining From Ascribing Partners To Him), And Perform As-Salat (Iqamat-As-

Salat) And Give Zakah: And That Is The Right Religion.

4. There Is Ikhlaas But Do You Love The Kalimah ? The Sequence Of Conditions Is Important

- Knowledge, Then Certainty, Then Ikhlaas Then Love. One Must Love Kalimah At Tawheed With

Its Meaning And The Muwaahideen Who Know The Same Meaning Of This

Kalimah.

The Proof Of Love? Allaah Says:

ٱ دون من يتهخذ من نلهاس ٱ ومن ندادا لله ٱ كحب يبونهم أ ين ٱو لله له شد ءامنواا

ا أ حب

ه [165: البقرة] لل

And Of Mankind Are Some Who Take (For Worship) Others Besides Allah As Rivals (To Allah).

They Love Them As They Love Allah. But Those Who Believe, Love Allah

More (Than Anything Else).

5 .Truthfulness Is The 5th Condition Of Kalimah At-Tawheed. It Is To Accept

.Truly, And Its Opposite Is Lie ل إله إل هللا

The Proof Is, Allaah Says:

ءامنها يقول من نلهاس ٱ ومن ٱب لله [8: البقرة] ٨بمؤمني هم وما ألخر ٱ لوم ٱوب

And Of Mankind, There Are Some (Hypocrites) Who Say: "We Believe In Allah And

The Last Day" While In Fact They Believe Not

6 .Acceptance, Means To Accept By Saying It.

Allaah Says

هم إنه ٱ إله إله لا لهم قيل إذا كنواا ون لله [35: الصافات] ٣٥يستكب

Truly, When It Was Said To Them: Laa Ilaaha Ill-Allah "(None Has The Right To Be Worshipped

But Allah)," They Puffed Themselves Up With Pride (I.E. Denied It)..

7. Submission: When You Have Accepted It By Proclamation Upon Your Tongue But If You Have

Not Submitted Yourself To It Through Your ‘Aamaal (Acitons) Then Your

Acceptance Is Useless . So That Is Why The 7th Condition Is To Follow The Conditions Of

Kalimah At-Tawheed By Your Actions , And Its Opposite Is Non-Compliance Or Leaving Off.

Allaah Says:

ٱ إل ۥا وجهه يسلم ومن ستمسك ٱ فقد مسن وهو لله ى ٱ لعروة ٱب ٱ إول لوثق قبة لله ع

مور ٱ [22: لقمان] ٢٢ل

And Who Ever Submits His Face To Allah While He Is A Doer Of Good Then He Has Grasped The

Most Trust Worthy Hand Hold And To Allah Will Be The Out Come Of All Matters

You Must Hand Over Yourself To Allaah , وهو مسن ۥا إل ٱلله This Is Called ومن يسلم وجهه

Submission - To Hand Over Ourselves To Allaah And To Act Upon The Conditions Of Kalimah At

Tawheed .

8. 8th Condition Is To Deny The Taghut. With The Acceptance Of ل إله إل هللا Denial Of False Gods

Is Must. Allaah Says:

و ٱلله ٱلعروة ٱلوثق ل ٱنفصام لها فقد ٱستمسك ب ٱلله غوت ويؤمن ب ٱلطه فمن يكفر ب

سميع عليم ٢٥٦ ]البقرة: 256[

Whoever Disbelieves In Taghut And Believes In Allah, Then He Has Grasped The Most

Trustworthy Handhold That Will Never Break. And Allah Is All-Hearer, All- Knower

.

➢ Note - From These Conditions We Learned That Kalimah At-Tawheed Is Not Mere

Proclamation Upon Tongue; Rather It Is Obligatory To Have Knowledge , Certainty, Ikhlaas ,

Love , Truthfulness , Acceptance , Submission And Rejection Of Taghut (False Deities) , And To

Follow It.

➢ Let Us Have A Look At Some Of Those People From The Past Who Did Not Act Upon The

Conditions Of Kalimah At-Tawheed .

1. Those Who Understood The Kalimah At-Tawheed Only Within Their Hearts , But They

Rejected By Their Words And Actions . Is It Enough To Know Just Within The Heart That

?”And Its Meaning Is “There Is No Deity Worthy Of Worship In Truth Except Allaah ”ل إله إل هللا“

No! It Is Not Enough.

An Example Is Abu Taalib -

Allaah`S Beloved Prophet وسلم عليه هللا صلى Said , In The Narration Of Sahih Muslim “

Abu Taalib Will Be The Least Tormented Of The Inhabitants Of Jahannam Who Will Wear Two

Shoes Of Fire That Will Make His Brain Boil. .

2. Accepted Kalimah At-Tawheed By Words And Actions But

Denied Within Their Hearts.

An Example Is ‘Abdullah Bin Abi Salool.

. Allaah Says:

رك ٱ ف لمنفقي ٱ إنه سفل ٱ له [145: النساء] ١٤٥نصيا لهم تد ولن نلهار ٱ من ل

Verily, The Hypocrites Will Be In The Lowest Depths (Grade) Of The Fire; No Helper

Will You Find For Them

➢ We Know Kalimah At-Tawheed’s Meaning Is

“There Is No Deity Worthy Of Worship In Truth Except Allaah”.

➢ How Many Pillars And Conditions Of Kalimah At-Tawheed Are There? We Learned There Are

➢ KUNYAH: Is Abul-Qaasim. His Elder Son's Name Was Qaasim So Kunyah Is Abul-Qaasim.

➢ NAME: These Five Names Have Come In Saheeh (Authentic) Hadeeth: Allaah's Beloved

Messenger States:

➢ I Am Muhammad, Ahmad, Maahee , Haashir And 'Aaqib.

➢ Muhammad: The One Praised The Most. The One Who Has Been Praised Most Among

(Allah’s) Creations Is Called "Muhammad". And The Name "Muhammad" Was No-One Else's

Name Before Muhammad ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص. It's Rare; It's A Special Name, For A Special Personality.

➢ Ahmad: The One Who Praises (Allaah) The Most.

➢ Maahee: The One Who Erases; The One Who Erases Kufr (Disbelief).

➢ Haashir: On The Field Of Gathering, People Will Stand Before Him And Resurrection Will Take

Place.

➢ 'Aaqib: After Whom No Prophet Will Come.

➢ BIRTH: Took Place In Makkah Mu'adhdhamah , On Monday , In The Month Of Rabee'-Ul-

Awwal, In The Year Of The Elephants. The Date Was Not Written. Why? Because There Is

Ikhtilaaf (Disagreement/Difference Of Opinion) On The Date. Some Said It Is The 9th, Some

Said It Is The 10th, Some Have Said 11th And Some Have Said 12th; And The Strongest Saying

Is (That It Is) The 9th . The Ummah (Muslim Nation) Is Agreed Upon (The Fact That) The Death

Of Allaah's Beloved Messenger Took Place On 12 Rabee'-Ul-Awwal, (But) There Is Severe

Ikhtilaaf On Whether His Birth (Also) Took Place On 12 Rabee'-Ul-Awwal.

➢ PARENTS' NAMES: Father's Name Is 'Abdullah Bin 'Abdul-Muttalib, And Mother's Name Is

Aaminah Bint Wahb.

➢ WIVES: Allaah's Beloved Messenger Had Eleven Wives.

➢ CHILDREN: Were Seven, Among Them Three Sons And Four Daughters. What You Are Seeing

Is Without Order (I.E. Random Names): Qaasim, Zainab, Ruqayyah, Faatimah, Ummu

Kulthoom, 'Abdullaah And Ibraaheem.

➢ RELATIVES: He Had Eleven Paternal Uncles; Six Paternal Aunts..

➢ (AS REGARDS) HIS BLESSED APPEARANCE, Let's See: (His) Blessed Face (Was) Fair, Attractive,

Round, Bright-Coloured, Rosy, Like The Full Moon.

➢ FACIAL’S DETAILS: Light Cheeks, Broad Forehead, Thin And Complete Eyebrows, Big Eyes,

And Thick Beard.

This Is The Appearance Of Allaah's Beloved Messenger ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص, And It Is Necessary To Know This.

➢ Allaah's Beloved Messenger ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص Received Prophethood Through This Statement Of Allaah

Recite In The Name Of Your Lord Who Created

➢ The Very First And Basic Message Of The Deen (Religion) Of Islaam - Remember - This Is The

Very First Message - ( ي خلق بٱسم ربك ٱله ( ٱقرأ

Allaah's Beloved Messenger Received Messengership Through This Statement:

ها يأ ثر ي نذر قم ١ٱلمده

[2-1: المدثر] ٢فأ

"O You (Muhammad ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص Enveloped (In Garments)! Arise And Warn!"

➢ A Life Of Revelation - Were Divided Into Two Parts:

➢ Thirteen Years Of Life In Makkah, And Ten Years Of Life In Madinah.

➢ During The Thirteen Years Of Life In Makkah There Was Only One Call , There Was Only One

Message:

[5: الفاتحة] ٥نستعي إويهاك نعبد إيهاك

It Is You We Worship And You We Ask For Help

ن أ ٱعبدوا ۥا إله من لكم ما ٱلله ه [32: المؤمنون] غي

"Worship Allaah! You Have No Other Ilaah (God) But Him."

➢ For Ten Years Allaah's Beloved Messenger ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص Called Only To Tawheed.

➢ Nooh السالم عليه Give Da'wah Only To Tawheed Nine Hundred And Fifty Years.

ارا ]نوح: 10[ . ربهكم إنههۥ كن غفه ٱستغفرواSeek Forgiveness; Of Your Lord Indeed , He Is Ever Perpetual Forgiver

➢ Life In Madinah - There Are Details Of Salaah , (Rulings Of) Fasting , Zakaah , Hajj , Jihaad , All

Other Rulings Were (Legislated) In Madinah.

➢ Is There A Difference Between "Nabiyy" And "Rasool"?

"Never Did We Send A Messenger Or A Prophet Before You..."

➢ Who Is Called A "Rasool"? The Linguistic Meaning Of "Rasool" Is "One Who Delivers The

Message", And The Legislated Meaning (According To Sharee'ah) Is "One Who Delivers Allah’s

Message", Meaning Revelation; Revelation Descends , And Then A Man Delivers It He Is A

Rasool .

➢ The First Rasool Nooh والسالم الصالة عليه .

➢ Shirk First Began In Nooh's السالم عليه Nation

➢ The Meaning Of "Muhammadur-Rasoolullaah":

This Is A Khabar (News) That Muhammad وسلم عليه هللا صلى Is Allah’s تعالى Rasool. To Affirm This

News, That Muhammad وسلم عليه هللا صلى Is Allah’s Messenger, Is Obligatory, Because The One

Who Gave This News Is Allah تعالى , And To Deny Allah’s تعالى News Is Kufr (Disbelief). To Deny

Allah’s Saying Is Kufr. So In This Statement We Get The Message That Muhammad وسلم عليه هللا صلى

Is Allah’s تعالى Rasool.

The Meaning Of "Ash-Hadu Anna Muhammadan 'Abduhu Wa Rasooluhu":

❖ "Ash-Hadu" Means "I Testify". The Testimony Is That Muhammad وسلم عليه هللا صلى Is Allah’s

Slave And Messenger And Knowledge And Certainty Are Mandatory For A Testimony. Allah

:States تعالى

[86: الزخرف] يعلمون وهم بٱلق شهد من إله

So Having Certain Knowledge Is Necessary.

➢ "Anna" - This Is For Tawkeed/Ta'keed (Emphasis). This Testimony Carries Further Emphasis

So That There Is No Room For Doubt. Doubting Is Kufr

➢ "'Abduhu" - (Meaning,) The One Who Serves Allah تعالى ; The Most Virtuous Slave... And A

Slave Can Never Be A God (Or One Who Is Worshipped). To Make A Slave Into A God Is

Ghuluww (Extremism); It Is Crossing The Limits, And Ghuluww Has No Room (In The Deen).

Whoever Gives Any Of The Slaves The Status Of Ma'bood (One Who Is Worshipped), He Has

Exited The Fold Of Islam, Because Ghuluww (In This Case) Is Kufr.

➢ The Meaning Of "Rasooluhu" - He Is The Most Virtuous Rasool Who Delivers The Message Of

Allah تعالى , And A Rasool Can Never Be A Liar . To Deny A Rasool... There Is No Room Left For

Denial , And Denial Is Kufr.

➢ What Are The Rights Of Allah’s Beloved Messenger وسلم عليه هللا صلى Are -

(1) The Very First Right Is That Of Salutations, -

The Evidence Of This: Allah تعالى States:

إنه ع يصلون ومل ئكتهۥ ٱلله ها ٱنلهب يأ ين ي ٱله ءامنوا عليه صلوا ٥٦تسليما وسلموا

[56: األحزاب]"Allah Sends His Salaat (Graces, Honours, Blessings, Mercy) On The Prophet (Muhammad صلى

وسلم عليه هللا ) And Also His Angels (Ask Allah To Bless And Forgive Him). O You Who Believe!

Send Your Salaat On (Ask Allah To Bless) Him (Muhammad وسلم عليه هللا صلى ), And (You Should)

Greet (Salute) Him With The Islaamic Way Of Greeting (Salutation I.E. Assalaamu 'Alaikum)."

Allah's Beloved Messenger Says:

"May The Nose Of A Man Be Covered With Dust - The One If Front Of Whom I Was Mentioned,

Then He Did Not Send Salutations On Me."

This Is Misfortune. Such A Man Is Stingy.

(2) The Second Right - That We Have To Honour, Respect And Venerate Allah's Beloved

Messenger وسلم عليه هللا صلى , And Respecting, Honouring And Venerating Him Is Obligatory.

Allah تعالى Says:

ها يأ ين ي ٱله ل ءامنوا موا يدي بي تقد ورسولۦ ٱلله قوا وٱته إنه ٱلله ١عليم سميع ٱلله

ها يأ ين ي ٱله ل ءامنوا تكم ترفعواا صو

ول ٱنلهب صوت فوق أ كجهر بٱلقول لۥ تهروا

ن لعض بعضكم عملكم تبط أ

نتم أ

[2: الحجرات] ٢تشعرون ل وأ

"O You Who Believe! Make Not (A Decision) In Advance Before Allah And His Messenger (صلى

وسلم عليه هللا ), And Fear Allah. Verily! Allah Is All-Hearing, All-Knowing."

"O You Who Believe! Raise Not Your Voices Above The Voice Of The Prophet ( هللا صلى

وسلم عليه ), Nor Speak Aloud To Him In Talk As You Speak Aloud To One Another, Lest Your

Deeds Should Be Rendered Fruitless While You Perceive Not."

(3) The Third Right Is Of Love - Allah's Beloved Messenger Says:

"None Of You (Truly) Believes Until I Become More Beloved To Him Than His Children, His

Parents, And All Of The People."

(4) Number Four: Following itteba - The Evidence For This - Allah تعالى Says:

طيعوا وأ [132: عمران آل] ١٣٢ترحون لعلهكم وٱلرهسول ٱلله

"And Obey Allah And The Messenger (Muhammad وسلم عليه هللا صلى ) That You May Obtain

Mercy."

Allah’s Beloved Messenger ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص Says:

"My Entire Ummah Will Enter Jannah Except Those Who Refuse To Enter It..."The Respected

Sahaabah Said: " - Who Is The One Who Refuses To Enter Jannah? Allah's Beloved Messenger

وسلم عليه هللا صلى Says: Whoever Obeyed Me , Followed Me , He Has Entered Jannah- And

Whoever Disobeyed Me , He Has Refused To Enter Jannah .

(5) The Fifth, Which Is The Most Important Point, I Have Kept At The End. Everyone Salutes,

Respects, Loves And Follows... All Claim And Do Carry Them Out But The Most Important Matter,

Which Most Of The People Are Heedless Of, And Do Not Know Of - (A Matter) Which Is The

Foundation: Eemaan In (His وسلم عليه هللا صلى ) Messengership.

• Eemaan In Messengership Is The Greatest Right Among The Rights Of Allah's Beloved

Messenger وسلم عليه هللا صلى . If There Is No Eemaan, There Is Nothing.

• The Evidence Of Eemaan In Messengership: Allah تعالى States:

ها يأ ين ي ٱله ءامنواا ءامنوا ب [136]النساء: ۦورسول ٱلله

"O You Who Believe! Believe In Allah, And His Messenger (Muhammad ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص)

• Eemaan In Messengership Is The Fourth Pillar From The Pillars Of Eemaan, And This Is The

Most Important Point .

Important point - Remember, Only He Will Send Salutations (On The Prophet) Who

Venerates Him, And Only He Will Venerate Him Who Loves Him, And Only He Loves Him Who

Follows Him, And Only The Ones Who Have Eemaan Can Follow Him. If You Memorise In This

Order, You Will Remember Five Rights.

How To Have Eemaan In Messengership , That He Is The Messenger Of Allah". So What Is The

Meaning Of This ? What Does This Word, This Sentence, Demand? Memorise These Four

Things:

1) Approval Of News - It Is Obligatory To Approve Of Whatever He ( وسلم عليه هللا صلى ) States... This

Qur'aan Majeed Is Allaah's Speech. Who Did We Receive It From? From Allaah's Beloved

Messenger وسلم عليه هللا صلى . Approval Is Obligatory. Hadeeth Of The Messenger وسلم عليه هللا صلى ,

Which Is His Saying... It Is Obligatory To Approve (Of It).

"Deeds Are (Judged) Only By Intentions."

That Deeds Are Dependent Upon The Intention. Why? Because It Is His ( وسلم عليه هللا صلى ) Saying.

All Of The Ummah Will Enter Jannah Except Those Who Refuse... And The Ones Who Refuse Are

Those Who...? Who Is The One Who Refuses? Who Refuses To Enter Jannah? The One Who Does

Not Obey/Follow; Who Disobeys Whoever Does Not Obey/Follow His Sunnah Cannot/Will Not

Enter Jannah. Whoever Is Not Obedient , (Whoever) Is Disobedient , Cannot/Will Not Enter

Jannah. So Approval Of News Is Obligatory... Whatever His Saying/Order Is... And The Evidence

For This... Allaah تعالى Says:

ا نوح وقوم همه ل بوا غرقنهم ٱلرسل كذه للنهاس وجعلنهم أ عتدنا ءاية

لمي وأ عذابا للظه

لما [37: الفرقان] ٣٧أ

"And Nooh's (Noah's) People, When They Denied The Messengers, We Drowned Them...

...And We Made Them As A Sign For Mankind...And We Have Prepared A Painful Torment For

The Dhaalimoon (Polytheists And Wrong-Doers)."

They Were Also Wrong-Doers. The Wrong-Doers That Keep Coming In Every Age... Who

Practise Such Wrongdoing... This Punishment Is Also For Them..

2) Implementing The Order: Whatever Command/Order We Have Received... Approval Of

News... An Order... Whatever Order We Have Been Given, That Order Has To Be Implemented.

Allah's Beloved Messenger وسلم عليه هللا صلى Has Given Us Many Orders.

That Whatever Order You Have Been Given, It Has To Be Implemented? Allaah's تعالى Saying:

كم ا ءاتى [7]الحشر: فخذوه ٱلرهسول وما

"And Whatsoever The Messenger (Muhammad وسلم عليه هللا صلى ) Gives You, Take It"

3) Abstaining From The Forbidden - Immediately Refraining From What Has Been Forbidden;

And The Evidence For This (Is) Allah's تعالى Saying,

كم عنه ف وما نهى و ٱنتهوا قوا ٱته إنه ٱلله [7]الحشر: ٱلعقاب شديد ٱلله

"And Whatsoever He Forbids You, Abstain (From It). And Fear Allah; Verily, Allah Is Severe In

Punishment."

4) Performing 'Ibaadah (Worship) According To The Way Of Allaah's Beloved Messenger هللا صلى

وسلم عليه - This Is The Fourth Matter.

طيعوا وأ [132: عمران آل] ١٣٢ترحون لعلهكم وٱلرهسول ٱلله

✓ Ten Things. One Is (About) Rights ; The Rest Of The Nine Things You Have To Memorise.

✓ How Is 'Ibaadah Performed

✓ Ibaadah Has Two Conditions Without Which Any 'Ibaadah Is Not Worthy Of Acceptance With

Allaah:

1) Ikhlaas (Sincerity) - Allaah تعالى Says:

ا إله لعبدوا مرواا أ وما [5]البينة: ٱلين ملصي ل ٱلله

"And They Were Commanded Not, But That They Should Worship Allaah, And Worship None

But Him Alone (Abstaining From Ascribing Partners To Him)"

2) Second Condition Of 'Ibaadah: Ittibaa' (Obeying/Following).

The Evidence Of This: Allaah تعالى Says:

طيعوا وأ [132: عمران آل] ١٣٢ترحون لعلهكم وٱلرهسول ٱلله

➢ 'Ibaadah Has These Two Conditions - How Do We Obey/Follow According To The Way Of The

Noble Prophet عليه هللا صلى

وسلم عليه هللا صلى Allaah's Beloved Prophet .? وسلم Says:

رد فهو منه ليس ما هذإ مرنا أ في حدث أ من

(Meaning,) Whoever Invents Something New In Our Deen - In This Affair Of Ours - What Is Not

From It, رد فهو - Then It Is Rejected; It Is Not Worthy Of Acceptance. This Is A Narration Of

Sahih-Bukhari.

➢ In Another Narration, Allah's Beloved Messenger States:

رد فهو مرنا أ عليه ليس عمال عمل من

(Meaning,) Whoever Does A Deed Upon Which Is Not Our Affair (Meaning A Deed Which Is Not

In Accordance With The Deen), رد فهو - Then That Person Is Rejected; His Deed Is Rejected As

Well. This Is A Narration Of Sahih Muslim.

➢ The Way Of Ittibaa' (Is). Correct Ittibaa' Of Him Is Through Six Ways.

1) Root - How Many 'Ibaadaat (Plural Of 'Ibaadah) Are There? A Few, We Know That. The Prayer

Is 'Ibaadah , Zakaah Is 'Ibaadah , Fasting Is 'Ibaadah , Hajj Is 'Ibaadah , 'Umrah Is 'Ibaadah ,

Du'aa (Invocation) Is 'Ibaadah , Sacrifice Is 'Ibaadah , (Fulfilling) Vows Is 'Ibaadah... These Are

All 'Ibaadaat. Why Are These 'Ibaadah? Because Their Evidence Is Present. The One Who Tries

To Invent Any 'Ibaadah Of His Own Accord Without Evidence, He Has Committed (An Act Of)

Bid'ah; This Hadeeth –

هذإ أمرنا في حدث أ من –

There Is No Room For Inventing A New Affair. "

2) Type - So Root Of 'Ibaadah Are Not Invented; They Are As Many As They Are... But... Type - The

Prayer Is One (Form Of) 'Ibaadah. How Many Types (Of Prayer) Are

There? There Is Sunnah (Recommended) Prayer, There Is Nafl (Supererogatory), There Is Fard

(Obligatory)..Then There Are Further Details. You Pray Two Rak'ahs (Units Of Prayer)... After

Wudoo' (Ablution) We Pray Two Rak'ahs... Tahiyyatul-Masjid... Two Rak'ahs After Tawaaf

(Circumambulation Around The Ka'bah)... These Are All Types Of The Prayer. Ok? (They Are

Present) With Scholarly Consensus And Details. There Is No Room For Inventing A New Type (Of

Prayer).

3) Quantity - A Limit Was Set On The Quantity Of Every 'Ibaadah. Fajr Has Two Rak'ahs. The One

Who Wants To Pray Three Rak'ahs, Will (His) Prayer Be Accepted? It Is Rejected.

4) Method - Look At The Method Of Praying. Is There Rukoo' (Bowing) First Or Sajdah

(Prostration)? First There Is Qiyaam (Standing), Then Rukoo', Then Sajdah. So Rukoo' Has To Be

Made Before Sajdah. If Someone Says "No, I Want To Start The Prayer With Sajdah; Allaah Likes

Sajdah Very Much, So I Want To Start The Prayer With Sajdah; First I Shall Perform Sajdah, Then

Make Rukoo', Then Make Qiyaam". Will His Prayer (Be Accepted)?

5) Time - There Are Two Types Of Time, One General, And The Other Specific, Which Have Been

Tied To 'Ibaadah. An Example Of General Is Sending Salutations. Whoever Sends Salutations On

Him ( وسلم عليه هللا صلى ), Allah Sends Down Ten Blessings On Him. Is It Restricted To A Specific

Time? It's General; It's Without Restriction... Whenever Someone Sends Salutations.

6) Place... Making Ittibaa' By Way Of Place - Some 'Ibaadaat Have Been Tied To Place; A

Restriction Has Been Put; And Some Have Been Generalised (Such As) The Prayer; (It Is) General;

(It Can Be) Prayed Anywhere. Is There Any Specific Place For The Prayer? Tell (Me)... Allah's

Beloved Messenger وسلم عليه هللا صلى Says "The Whole Earth Has Been Made Pure For Me".

Wherever Muslims Find A Pure Place, They Pray

➢ Finally, Removal Of Some Doubts, And This Is The Most Important Matter.

1) The First Misconception: Is The Prophet وسلم عليه هللا صلى Deceased?

The Answer Is - Yes.

The Evidence - Allah's تعالى Saying:

يتون إنهك ميت [30]الزمر: ٣٠إونههم مه

"Verily, You (O Muhammad وسلم عليه هللا صلى ) Will Die, And Verily, They (Too) Will Die.".

يها فان كرام و ٱللل ويبق وجه ربك ذو ٢٦ك من عل [27-26]الرحمن: ٢٧ٱل

2) The Second Misconception: Is The Noble Prophet وسلم عليه هللا صلى The Cause Of Creation Of

The Universe? Why Did Allah Create This Universe? Is There A Cause Or Not? Who Is The Cause

Of This Universe... Is He ( وسلم عليه هللا صلى ) The Cause? What Is The Answer? "No."

➢ Why Did Allah Create The Earth And Heavens? Why Did He Create This Universe? Why Did He

Create Us? Why Did Allah تعالى Create The Jinn And Mankind? Allah تعالى Says:

نه خلقت وما نس ٱل [56: الذاريات] ٥٦لعبدون إله وٱل

For Tawheedul-'Ibaadah (Oneness Of Worship). The People Who Think That Allaah Created The

Universe Only For Him ( وسلم عليه هللا صلى ), They Are Committing A Very Great (Act Of) Oppression

On Their Own Selves. The Verse Of The Qur'an Is Absolutely Clear.

3) The Third Misconception: Is The Noble Prophet وسلم عليه هللا صلى (Made Of) Noor (Light)? The

Answer is - "No."

The Evidence Of This? Allah تعالى Says:

ا إلهكم إله وحد ما نهنا بش مثلكم يوح إله أ

ا أ ما [110]الكهف: قل إنه

"Say (O Muhammad وسلم عليه هللا صلى ):..."Only I Am A Man Like You , To Whom Has Been

Revealed That Your God Is One God

The Second Evidence Which Is Clearer Than The First One. Allaah تعالى Says:

ۥوجعلوا ل نسن جزءا إنه ۦمن عباده بي ٱل [15]الزخرف: ١٥لكفور مBut They Have Attributed To Him From His Servants A Portion . Indeed , Man Clearly

Ungrateful

4) The Next (Fourth) Misconception: Can The Noble Prophet وسلم عليه هللا صلى Be Seen In A Dream?

The Answer? "Yes",

The Evidence For This, That He Can Be Seen In A Dream? Allah’s Beloved Messenger عليه هللا صلى

:Says وسلم

إلمنام في ني رأ ومن - (Meaning,) And Whoever Saw Me In A Dream

ني رأ فقد - Then He Saw Me In Reality

إلشيطان فان - Indeed The Devil

صورتي في يتمثل ال - Cannot Imitate My Appearance

متعمدإ عل كذب ومن - And Whoever Lied On Me

أ فليتبو - Let Him Find

إلنار من مقعده - His Place In The Fire

5) The Last (Fifth) Misconception: Is It Possible To Enter Jannah Without Having Eemaan In The

Noble Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص?

Answer: No.

Evidence - Allaah تعالى Says:

ين إنه يكفرون ٱله ن ويريدون ورسلهۦ بٱلله أ بي يفرقوا نؤمن ويقولون ورسلهۦ ٱلله

ن ويريدون ببعض ونكفر ببعض أ لك بي يتهخذوا ول ئك ١٥٠سبيل ذ

فرون هم أ ٱلك

ا عتدنا حقفرين وأ هينا عذابا للك [151-150: النساء] ١٥١م

ورسلهۦ ين يكفرون بٱلله إنه ٱلهVerily, Those Who Disbelieve In Allaah And His Messengers.And Wish To Make Distinction

Between Allah And His Messengers (By Believing In Allaah And Disbelieving In His

Messengers).Saying , We Believe In Some But Reject Others"And Wish To Adopt A Way In

Between.They.Are In Truth Disbelievers.And We Have Prepared For The Disbelievers A

Humiliating Torment."
