Project #1: TIBCO platform Migration to Seeburger BIS Jun/2016 - Present

Project Type Migration

Project Domain Logistics

Client Internal project, Ingram Micro

Organization Ingram Micro

Team Project : 15

Software: BICMD designer, BPMN designer, Oracle TOAD, PUTTY, WINSCP, Apache Jmeter 3.0, Xming, Microsoft Office package, Beyond Compare, Microsoft Visio

Tools : Seeburger 6.5.2, TIBCO BW, TIBCO substations, Mainframe

O/s : Linux Red Hat

Functional Requirement gathering and Analysis, Work Estimation, Task planning, Map/ process development, Testing, providing daily/weekly status report, Bug fixing, Production Support.

Project Description:

Project was about migrating legacy TIBCO engine with new Seeburger BIS platform. Idea was to eliminate extra middleware’s thus reducing maintenance and upgrade costs. Legacy TIBCO had more than 50,000 partners on-boarded, Siteminder as authentication LDAP server, different DNS server, numerous workflows and connected applications which had to be migrated to Seeburger BIS specific components.

Contribution:

Developed business processes in Seeburger to migrate all the legacy workflows to new environment.

Developed transaction specific maps (XML Order, XML Price and Availability, XML Order Status, XML Order Detail, XML SKU Create, XML Suggested PO, XML Product Search) and updated the Message Tracking tables.

Assignment Highlights

Page 4: Jay Thakkar

Established connectivity with Site Minder SUN ONE LDAP and Active Directory for authentication, Seeburger BIS used Active directory for authentication unlike TIBCO which used Siteminder.

Established connectivity from Seeburger to partner servers for outbound traffic, reached out to partners for whitelisting new Seeburger external PAT IPs in their firewall.

Developed custom transactional reports for business and hazardous reports for warehouse teams for critical SKUs.

Migrated more than 50,000 partners from legacy to new platform without any changes at partners end. Developed a custom program that would read all the partners from legacy TIBCO database and create new setups in Seeburger BIS.

Performed volume and performance testing with legacy and new platform. Legacy platform had a benchmark of having throughput of 55transactions/ second and a SLA of < 3secs for PNA transactions.

Involved in DNS cutover for routing the traffic to new platform instead of legacy from load balancer. We performed DNS switch for this that would resolve existing server load balancer IP to Seeburger Netscalar load balancer VIP.

Developed automation testing tool in Java swings that would hit the request in old and new environments via HTTP, store and compare the responses like beyond compare comparison tool
