Philippians 腓立比書 1:1-2

1Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the overseers and deacons: 2Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

1基督耶稣的仆人保罗和提摩太写信给凡住腓立比、在基督耶稣里的众圣徒，和诸位监督，诸位执事。2愿恩惠、平安从神我们的父并主耶稣基督归与你们！

1Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus,

with the risen Christ▪ became an apostle to the Gentiles▪ wrote 13 letters in the New Testament

➢ Timothy▪ a trusted fellow minister travelled with Paul▪ often sent by Paul to different churches▪ 2 New Testament letters named after him

1…To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the overseers and deacons:

“saints” in Christ:

o “holy ones,” made holy by God through faith in Lord Jesus Christ

o interchangeable with “disciple,” “believer,” “Christian”

o “church” is made up of “saints” in Christ

o “overseers” and “deacons” are the church leaders

1…给凡住腓立比、在基督耶稣里的众圣徒，和诸位监督，诸位执事。

在基督耶稣里的众「圣徒」：

o 「聖潔的人」，因信靠主耶穌而成為聖潔的人

o 與「門徒」、「信徒」、「基督徒」是互用的

The beginning of the church at Philippi 腓立比教會的開始(Acts 使徒行傳 16:9-12)

9And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us." 10And when Paul had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them. 12…Philippi, which is a leading city of the district of Macedonia and a Roman colony. We remained in this city some days.

9在夜间有异象现与保罗。有一个马其顿人站着求他说：「请你过到马其顿来帮助我们。」 10保罗既看见这异象，我们随即想要往马其顿去，以为神召我们传福音给那里的人听。 12…来到腓立比，就是马其顿这一方的头一个城，也是罗马的驻防城。我们在这城里住了几天。

The beginning of the church at Philippi 腓立比教會的開始(Acts 使徒行傳 16:13-15)

13And on the Sabbath day we went outside the gate to the riverside, where we supposed there was a place of prayer, and we sat down and spoke to the women who had come together. 14One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple goods, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul. 15And after she was baptized, and her household as well, she urged us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay." And she prevailed upon us.

13当安息日，我们出城门，到了河边，知道那里有一个祷告的地方，我们就坐下对那聚会的妇女讲道。14有一个卖紫色布疋的妇人，名叫吕底亚，是推雅推喇城的人，素来敬拜神。她听见了，主就开导她的心，叫她留心听保罗所讲的话。 15

她和她一家既领了洗，便求我们说：「你们若以为我是真信主的，请到我家里来住」；于是强留我们。

16As we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling. 17She followed Paul and us, crying out, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation." 18And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her." And it came out that very hour.

16后来，我们往那祷告的地方去。有一个使女迎着面来，她被巫鬼所附，用法术，叫她主人们大得财利。17她跟随保罗和我们，喊着说：「这些人是至高神的仆人，对你们传说救人的道。」 18她一连多日这样喊叫，保罗就心中厌烦，转身对那鬼说：「我奉耶稣基督的名，吩咐你从她身上出来！」那鬼当时就出来了。

The beginning of the church at Philippi 腓立比教會的開始(Acts 使徒行傳 16:19-21)

19But when her owners saw that their hope of gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers. 20And when they had brought them to the magistrates, they said, "These men are Jews, and they are disturbing our city. 21They advocate customs that are not lawful for us as Romans to accept or practice."

19使女的主人们见得利的指望没有了，便揪住保罗和西拉，拉他们到市上去见首领； 20又带到官长面前说：「这些人原是犹太人，竟骚扰我们的城， 21传我们罗马人所不可受不可行的规矩。」

22The crowd joined in attacking them, and the magistrates tore the garments off them and gave orders to beat them with rods. 23And when they had inflicted many blows upon them, they threw them into prison, ordering the jailer to keep them safely. 24Having received this order, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks.

22众人就一同起来攻击他们。官长吩咐剥了他们的衣裳，用棍打；23打了许多棍，便将他们下在监里，嘱咐禁卒严紧看守。 24禁卒领了这样的命，就把他们下在内监里，两脚上了木狗。

3 lessons from the beginning of the Philippian church從腓立比教會開始的3個功課 (Acts 使徒行傳 16:9-24)

1. God’s guidance & salvation 神的帶領和拯救a. God guides people in order to accomplish His salvation 神帶領人成就祂的救贖

b. God knows and saves those seeking Him 神認識和拯救尋求祂的人

2. Satan’s bondage & attack 魔鬼的綑綁和攻擊a. Satan’s enslaves & possesses non-believers 魔鬼綑綁和控制不信真神的人

b. Satan harasses and attacks believers 魔鬼騷擾並攻擊神的子民

3. Man’s response & result 人的反應和結果a. Man can choose to trust God and be saved 人可以信靠神而得救

b. Man can choose to reject God and be lost 人可以拒絕神而失喪

God,

You have opened my eyes today. I no longer want to be enslaved by worldly desires and sinful habits. I confess my sin and trust Jesus as my savior. Please forgive my sins and set me free from the power and control of sin. Help me starting living a new life.

In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

神啊，

祢打開了我的眼睛，我不願再被屬世的情慾和罪惡的習慣綑綁，我向祢認罪悔改，信靠耶穌作我的救主，求祢赦免我的罪，救我脫離罪的權柄和挾制，幫助我開始過一個新的生活。

禱告奉耶穌的名，阿們。
