The water softener requires a minimum water flow of 11.4 liters (3 gallons) per minute at the inlet. Maximumallowable inlet water pressure is 7 bar (100 psi). If your house water pressure is over the maximum, install apressure reducing valve in the water supply pipe to the softener (Adding a pressure reducing valve may reducethe flow). If your home is equipped with a back flow preventer, an expansion tank must be installed in accordancewith local codes and laws.
The water softener works on 24 volt, 50/60 Hz electrical power only, supplied by a direct plug-in transformer(included). Be sure to use the included transformer and plug it into a nominal 230V, 50 cycle household outletthat is in a dry location only, grounded and properly protected by an overcurrent device such as a circuit breakeror fuse. Power consumption is 13.5 W max imum and 1.0 W typical. If transformer is replaced, use only UL, CULor CSA approved Class 2 transformer with the following specifications:
Input: 230 VAC, 50 Hz, 13.5 W Output Voltage: 24 VAC Output Current: 400 mA
Do not use this system to treat water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate dis-infection upstream or downstream of the system.
European Directive 2002/96/EC requires all electrical and electronic equipment to be disposed of accord-ing to Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) requirements. This directive or similar laws arein place nationally and can vary from region to region. Please refer to your state and local laws for properdisposal of this equipment.

PLUMBING CODES
All plumbing must be completed in accordance with
national, state and local plumbing codes.
AIR GAP REQUIREMENTS
A drain is needed for regeneration water (See Figure
2). A floor drain, close to the water softener, is
preferred. A laundry tub, standpipe, etc. are other
drain options. Secure valve drain hose in place.
Leave an air gap of 4 cm between the end of the hose
and the drain. This gap is needed to prevent backflow
of sewer water into the water softener. Do not put the
end of the drain hose into the drain.

LOCATION REQUIREMENTS
Consider all of the following when selecting an installa-
tion location for the water softener.
Do not locate the water softener where freezingtemperatures occur. Do not attempt to treat water
over 49ºC. Freezing temperatures or hot water
damage voids the warranty.
To condition all water in the home, install the watersoftener close to the water supply inlet, and
upstream of all other plumbing connections, except
outside water pipes. Outside faucets should remain
on hard water to avoid wasting conditioned water
and salt.
A nearby drain is needed to carry away regenera-tion discharge (drain) water. Use a floor drain,
laundry tub, sump, standpipe, or other options
(check your local codes). See "Air Gap
Requirements" and "Valve Drain Requirements"
sections.
The water softener works on 24 volt, 50/60 Hz elec-trical power only, supplied by a direct plug-in trans-
former (included). Provide a nearby electrical out-
let, in accordance with national and local codes.
Always install the water softener between the waterinlet and water heater. Any other installed water
conditioning equipment should be installed between
the water inlet and water softener (See Figure 3
below).
Avoid installing in direct sunlight. Excessive sunheat may cause distortion or other damage to non-
metallic parts.

Pred inštaláciouVýber vhodného miestaProsím, zohľadnite nasledujúce body pri výbere miesta inštalácie.• Nevystavujte zmäkčovač mrazu. Nezmäkčujte vodu
s teplotou nad 49 °C.
Napr. kohútiky mimo domu, záhradný kohútik a pod.
Pripevnite hadicu z vypúš-ťacieho ventilu nad odtok odpadovej vody. Dbajte na prítomnosť 4 cm vzduchovej medzery. Táto medzera zabraňuje spätnému toku vody z odpadu do zmäkčo-vača. Koniec hadice nevkladajte priamo do odtoku.

VALVE DRAIN REQUIREMENTS
Using the flexible drain hose (included), measure and
cut to the length needed. Flexible drain hose is not
allowed in all localities (check your plumbing codes). If
local codes do not allow use of a flexible drain hose, a
rigid valve drain run must be used. Purchase a com-
pression fitting (1/4 NPT x 1.25 cm minimum tube) and
1.25 cm tubing from your local hardware store. Plumb
a rigid drain as needed (See Figure 5).
NOTE: Avoid drain hose runs longer than 9 meters.
Avoid elevating the hose more than 2.5 meters
above the floor. Make the valve drain line as
short and direct as possible.
INLET / OUTLET PLUMBING OPTIONS
Always install either a single bypass valve (provided),
as shown in Figure 6, or, if desired, parts for a 3 valve
bypass system (not included) can be purchased and
assembled, as shown in Figure 7. Bypass valves
allow you to turn off water to the softener for mainte-
nance if needed, but still have water in house pipes.
Pipe fittings must be 1.9 cm minimum.
Use:
 Copper pipe
 Threaded pipe
 PEX (Crosslinked Polyethylene) pipe
 CPVC plastic pipe
Other pipe approved for use with potable water
IMPORTANT: Do not solder with plumbing attached to
installation adaptors and single bypass
valve. Soldering heat will damage the
adaptors and valve.

Pripojenie vypúšťacieho ventiluPripojenie vypúšťacieho ventiluZmerajte potrebnú dĺžku a podľa potreby skráťte priba-lenú hadicu. Ak miestne predpisy nedovoľujú použitie ohybnej hadice, použite pevný odtok.Pre vytvorenie pevného odtoku zakúpte zverné šróbenie (¼“ NPT x 1,25 cm) a rúrku s priemerom 1,25 cm.
POZNÁMKA: Maximálna dĺžka odpadovej hadice je 9 m. Vyhnite sa dvíhaniu hadice do výšky nad 2,5 m nad zem. Odtoková hadica by mala byť čo najrovnejšia a najkratšia.
Varianty inštalácie na potrubieZariadenie musí byť v každom prípade inštalované so zmiešavacím bypass ventilom.
Použite• Medené potrubie• Potrubie so závitmi• PEX potrubie• CPVC potrubie• Alebo iné potrubie vhodné pre pitnú vodu

2. Visually check and remove any debris from the
water softener valve inlet and outlet ports.
3. Make sure the turbine assembly spins freely in the
"out" port of the valve (See Figure 9).
4. If not already done, put a light coating of silicone
grease on the single bypass valve o-rings.
5. Push the single bypass valve into the softener valve
as far as it will go. Snap the two large holding clips
into place, from the top down as shown in Figures
12 & 13.
IMPORTANT: Be sure the clips snap firmly into place
so the single bypass valve will not pull
out.
COMPLETE INLET AND OUTLET PLUMBING
Measure, cut, and loosely assemble pipe and fittings
from the main water pipe to the inlet and outlet ports of
the water softener valve. Be sure to keep fittings fully
together, and pipes squared and straight.
Be sure hard water supply pipe goes to the water sof-
tener valve inlet side.
NOTE: Inlet and outlet are marked on the water sof-
tener valve. Trace the water flow direction to
be sure hard water is to inlet.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to fit, align and support all
plumbing to prevent putting stress on
the water softener valve inlet and outlet.
Undue stress from misaligned or unsup-
ported plumbing may cause damage to
the valve.
Complete the inlet and outlet plumbing for the type of
pipes you will be using.

4. Skontrolujte a namažte O-krúžky bypass ventilu silikó-novým mazadlom.
5. Vsuňte bypass ventil do zmäkčovača až na doraz, zaistite ho sponami zhora nadol podľa Obr. 12 a 13.
Pozor! Skontrolujte, či spony dobre zapadli, aby nedošlo k uvoľneniu bypass ventilu!
4. krok – Zapojenie do vodovodnej sietePripravte a predbežne voľne zmontujte vstupné a vý-stupné potrubie. Potrubia by mali byť čo najrovnejšie. IN – vstup tvrdej vody. OUT – výstup zmäkčenej vody.

Installation Instructions
COLD WATER PIPE GROUNDING
CAUTION: The house cold water pipe (metal only)
is often used as a ground for the house
electrical system, The 3-valve bypass
type of installation, shown in Figure 8,
will maintain ground continuity. If you
use a plastic bypass valve at the unit,
continuity is broken. To restore the
ground, do the following:
1. Install a #4 copper wire across the removed section
of main water pipe, securely clamping it at both
ends (See Figure 14) - parts not included.
NOTE: Check local plumbing and electrical codes
for proper installation of the ground wire.
The installation must conform to them.
Consult with your licensed plumber.
1. Measure, cut to needed length and connect the 9.5
mm drain line (provided) to the salt storage tank
overflow elbow and secure in place with a hose
clamp.
2 Route the hose to the floor drain, or other suitable
drain point no higher than the drain fitting on the salt
storage tank (This is a gravity drain). If the tank
overfills with water, the excess water flows to the
drain point. Cut the drain line to the desired length
and route it neatly out of the way.
IMPORTANT: For proper operation of the water soften-
er, do not connect the water softener
valve drain tubing to the salt storage
tank overflow hose.
TEST FOR LEAKS
To prevent air pressure in the water softener and
plumbing system, complete the following steps in order:
1. Fully open two or more softened cold water faucets
close to the water softener, located downstream from
the water softener.
2. Place the bypass valve (single or 3 valve) into the
"bypass" position. See Figures 6 & 7 on Page 5.
3. Slowly open the main water supply valve. Run
water until there is a steady flow from the opened
faucets, with no air bubbles.
4. Place bypass valve(s) in "service" or soft water posi-
tion as follows:
Single bypass valve: Slowly move the valve stemtoward "service," pausing several times to allow
the water softener to fill with water.
3 valve bypass: Fully close the bypass valve andopen the outlet valve. Slowly open the inlet valve,
pausing several times to allow the water softener
to fill with water.
5. After about three minutes, open a hot water faucet
until there is a steady flow and there are no air bub-
bles, then close this faucet.
6. Close all cold water faucets and check for leaks at
the plumbing connections that you made.
7. Check for leaks around clips at softener’s inlet and
outlet. If a leak occurs at a clip, depressurize the
plumbing (turn off the water supply and open
faucets) before removing clip. When removing clips
at the softener’s inlet or outlet, push the single
bypass valve body toward the softener (See Figure
15). Improper removal may damage clips. Do not
reinstall damaged clips.
INSTALL SALT STORAGE TANK OVERFLOW
HOSE
INSTALL VALVE DRAIN HOSE
NOTE: See valve drain options on pages 6 & 7.
1. Measure, cut to needed length and connect the 9.5
mm drain line (provided) to the water softener valve
drain fitting. Use a hose clamp to hold the hose in
place.
IMPORTANT: If codes require a rigid drain line see
“Valve Drain requirements" section.
2. Run the drain hose (or a rigid line) to the floor drain.
Secure drain hose. This will prevent “whipping'' dur-
ing regenerations. Be sure to provide a 4 cm min-
imum air gap to prevent possible sewer water
backup. See “Air Gap Requirements" section.
NOTE: In addition to a floor drain, you can use a laun-
dry tub or standpipe as a good drain point for
this hose.. Avoid long drain hose runs, or ele-
vating the hose more than 2.5 meters above
the floor.

nách 4 a 6.1. Zmerajte potrebnú dĺžku a podľa potreby skráťte pri-
balenú hadicu. Druhú časť hadice budete potrebovať na pripojenie prepadu. Hadicu upevnite k vypúšťa-ciemu ventilu svorkami.
Pozor: Ak národné alebo miestne predpisy vyžadujú pevné potrubie na odpadovú vodu, pozri „Pripo-jenie vypúšťacieho potrubia“.
2. Voľný koniec prepadového potrubia nesmie byť umiestnený nad úrovňou prepadového kolena. Ide o gravitačné prepadové potrubie. V prípade preplne-nia nádrže vytečie prebytočná voda týmto potrubím do odtoku.
Pozor: Nespájajte prepadové potrubie z nádrže s od-padovým potrubím z vypúšťacieho ventilu.
9. krok – Skúška úniku tlakuPre odvzdušnenie zariadenia a vodovodného systému vykonajte nasledujúce kroky v uvedenom poradí:
1. Otvorte aspoň 2 kohútiky v blízkosti zariadenia na zmäkčovanie vody v polohe studenej vody.
2. Posuňte bypass ventil do polohy „Bypass“ (obtok). (Do zariadenia voda netečie.)
Potom ho znovu zatvorte.
6. Zatvorte kohútiky studenej vody, ktoré ste v 1. kroku otvorili a z ktorých stále tečie voda. Skontrolujte všet-ky nové spoje potrubí, či netečú.
7. Skontrolujte spoje na vstupe a výstupe zariadenia okolo spôn. Ak okolo spony uniká voda, predtým, ako sa pokúsite sponu odpojiť, uzavrite hlavný uzáver vody, otvorte kohútiky a nechajte z potrubí vytiecť vodu. Pri odstraňovaní spôn tlačte ventil smerom k zmäkčovaču (pozri Obr. 15). Nesprávne zaob-chádzanie môže poškodiť spony. Poškodené spony znovu neinštalujte.

ADD WATER AND SALT TO THE SALT
STOR AGE TANK
1. Using a container, add about three gallons of clean
water into the salt storage tank.
2. Add salt to the storage tank. Use nugget, pellet or
coarse solar salts with less than 1% impurities.
PLUG IN THE TRANSFORMER
During installation, the water softener wiring may be
moved or jostled from place. Check to be sure all
leadwire connectors are secure on the back of the
electronic board and be sure all wiring is away from
the valve gear and motor area, which rotates during
regenerations.
1. Plug the water softener into an electrical outlet that
is not controlled by a switch and is approved by
local codes. The unit works on 24V only. Do not
connect without the transformer.
NOTE: The water heater is filled with hard water and,
as hot water is used, it will refill with condi-
tioned water. In a few days, the hot water will
be fully conditioned. To have fully conditioned
hot water immediately, wait until the initial
recharge is over. Then, drain the water heater
(following instructions for water heater) until
water runs cold.
PROGRAM THE CONTROLLER
1. Install the softener’s top cover and salt lid.
2. Complete the programming steps on Pages 10 & 11.
SANITIZE THE WATER SOFTENER /
SANITIZE AFTER SERVICE
Care is taken at the factory to keep your unit clean and
sanitary. Materials used to make the unit will not infect
or contaminate your water supply, and will not cause
bacteria to form or grow. However, during shipping,
storage, installation and operation, bacteria could get
into the unit. For this reason, sanitizing as follows is
suggested* when installing.
1. Slide open the salt lid, remove the brinewell cover
and pour about 90 ml (6 tablespoons) of household
bleach into the softener brinewell. Replace the
brinewell cover.
2 Make sure the bypass valve(s) is in the “service”
(open) position.
3 Start a recharge: Press the RECHARGE button and
hold for 3 seconds, until “Recharge Now” begins to
flash in the display. This recharge draws the sanitiz-
ing bleach into and through the water softener. Any
air remaining in the unit is purged to the drain.
4. After the recharge has completed, fully open a cold
water faucet, downstream from the softener, and
allow 190 liters of water to pass through the system.
This should take at least 20 minutes. Close the
faucet.
*Recommended by the Water Quality Association. On some
water supplies, the unit may need periodic disinfecting.
RESTART THE WATER HEATER
1. Turn on the electricity or fuel supply to the water
heater and relight the pilot, if applicable.
NOTE: The water heater is filled with hard water and,
as hot water is used, it refills with conditioned
water. In a few days, the hot water will be fully
conditioned. To have fully conditioned hot
water immediately, wait until the initial recharge
(previous step) is over. Then, drain the water
heater (following instructions for water heater)
until water runs cold.

Posuňte horný kryt zaria-denia (s displejom) dopredu a skontrolujte, či sú všetky káble správne pripojené ku konektorom a k displejovej jednotke. Káble nesmú zasahovať do mechanických častí hlavy a motora. 1. Pripojte pribalený zdroj k napájacím konektorom
zmäkčovača. Zmäkčovač funguje iba s napätím 24 V. Nezapájajte zariadenie priamo do siete bez použitia zdroja.
Ak potrebujete upravenú teplú vodu okamžite, počkajte, kým sa dokončí prvá regenerácia (nasledujúci krok) a následne vypustite vodu z ohrievača, až kým z neho nevyteká studená voda.
Pozor! Ohrievač vypúšťanie iba v prípade, ak to Váš model ohrievača umožňuje a vždy v súlade s návodom na použitie ohrievača.
12. krok – Programovanie1.
1. Odstráňte z plavákovej komory kryt a nalejte do pla-vákovej komory dávku dezinfekčného prostriedku (napr. Savo). Vráťte kryt na svoje miesto.
2. Nastavte bypass ventil do pozície „service“ (prevádz-ka).
3. Spustite regeneráciu: Stlačte a držte „RECHARGE“, kým nezačne blikať nápis „RECHARGE NOW“. Počas prvej regenerácie prebehne dezinfekcia a od-vzdušnenie prístroja.
Ak potrebujete upravenú teplú vodu okamžite, počkajte, kým sa dokončí prvá regenerá-cia (predošlý krok) a následne vypustite vodu z ohrievača, až kým z neho nevyteká studená voda.

Pamäť v prípade výpadku prúduV prípade výpadku energie sa nastavenia okamžite ne-zmažú. Pri dočasnom prerušení prívodu prúdu (rádovo niekoľko hodín) batéria vnútorného okruhu zachová nastavenia. Počas výpadku displej nič nezobrazuje a zmäkčovač nespustí regeneráciu.

RECHARGE NOW
At times of greater than normal water use, such as
when you have guests, you could run out of condi-
tioned water before the next scheduled recharge. If
this happens, you may want to initiate an immediate
regeneration, as follows:
1. Press the RECHARGE button and hold for 3 sec-
onds, until the words “RECHARGE NOW” flash in
the display.
The softener enters the fill cycle of regeneration
immediately. “RECHARGE NOW” will flash during
the regeneration. When completed (in about 2
hours), full water conditioning capacity is restored.
NOTE: If the “Clean Feature” is set ON, the normal
regeneration cycle is preceded by a cleaning
backwash and rinse.
RECHARGE TONIGHT
If you do not want to start an immediate recharge, but
would like an extra recharge at the next preset
recharge start time, do the following to schedule a
recharge:
1. Press and release (do not hold) the RECHARGE
button.
The words “RECHARGE TONIGHT" flash in the dis-
play, and the softener will recharge at the next preset

Bypass Blending Valve
The bypass blending valve works as a typical push-
pull bypass valve, but has the added ability to finely
adjust hardness of the treated water leaving the water
softener. If slightly harder water is desired than is
normally output by the water softener, this bypass
blending valve can divert a small stream of hard
water before it enters the water softener and blend it
with the exiting softened water. The amount of water
diverted is controlled by turning a blend adjusting
knob on the end cap of the valve stem (See Figure
40).
1. When the bypass valve is in service position (nor-
mal softener operation), with handle pulled all the
way out (See Figure 40), increase hardness of
treated water by turning the blend adjusting knob
counterclockwise up to 6 turns from the fully
closed position. While adjusting this knob, hold the
bypass valve handle to prevent the stem from
rotating.
2. Do not continue to turn the knob counterclockwise
beyond 6 turns from the fully closed position, as
this would eventually pull the screw’s internal o-
rings out of their seat and water would leak from
the bypass valve.
3. Decrease hardness of treated water by turning the
blend adjusting knob clockwise while holding the
bypass handle. When the knob will not turn any
more, hard water is no longer being blended with
treated water.
4. Once the desired hardness is achieved, the adjust-
ment knob may be locked in place by tightening
the hex nut clockwise against the end cap using an
adjustable wrench. Hold the bypass valve handle
to prevent the stem from rotating, or else use
another wrench to grip the stem on the flats
between the end cap and the bypass valve body.
Loosen the hex nut (turn it counterclockwise)
before readjusting the hardness or closing the
diversion path for servicing (see next step)
5. If the water softener is to be serviced or discon-
nected from the bypass valve, the blend adjusting
knob must be turned all the way clockwise to close
the diversion path and prevent water leaking from
the softener valve inlet of the bypass valve.

Routine Maintenance
ADDING SALT
Lift the salt lid and check the salt storage level fre-
quently. If the water softener uses all the salt before
you refill it, you will experience hard water. Until you
have established a refilling routine, check the salt
every two or three weeks. Always add if less than 1/4
full. Be sure the brinewell cover is on.
NOTE: In humid areas, it is best to keep the salt stor-
age level lower, and to refill more often to
avoid salt “bridging”.
Recommended Salt: Nugget, pellet or coarse solar
salts with less than 1% impurities.
Salt Not Recommended: Rock salt, high in impuri-
ties, block, granulated, table, ice melting, ice cream
making salts, etc.
BREAKING A SALT BRIDGE
Sometimes, a hard crust or salt “bridge” forms in the
brine tank. It is usually caused by high humidity or
the wrong kind of salt. When the salt “bridges,” an
empty space forms between the water and the salt.
Then, salt will not dissolve in the water to make brine.
Without brine, the resin bed is not recharged and
hard water will result.
If the storage tank is full of salt, it is difficult to tell if
you have a salt bridge. A bridge may be underneath
loose salt. Take a broom handle, or like tool, and
hold it next to the water softener. Measure the dis-
tance from the floor to the rim of the water softener.
Then, gently push the broom handle straight down
into the salt. If a hard object is felt before the pencil
mark is even with the top, it is most likely a salt
bridge. Gently push into the bridge in several places
to break it. Do not use any sharp or pointed objects
as you may puncture the brine tank. Do not try to
break the salt bridge by pounding on the outside of
the salt tank. You may damage the tank.

CLEANING THE NOZZLE & VENTURI
A clean nozzle & venturi (See Figure 43) is a necessityfor the water softener to work properly. This smallcomponent creates the suction to move brine from thebrine tank, into the resin tank. If it should becomeplugged with sand, silt, dirt, etc., the water softener willnot work, and hard water will result.
Nozzle & Venturi Disc
IMPORTANT: Be sure small hole in the gasket is cen-tered directly over the small hole in the nozzle & ven-turi housing. Be sure the numbers are facing up.
To get access to the nozzle & venturi, remove thewater softener’s top cover. Put the bypass valve(s)into the bypass position. Be sure the water softener isin soft water (service) cycle (no water pressure at noz-zle & venturi). Then, holding the nozzle & venturihousing with one hand, unscrew the cap. Do not losethe o-ring seal. Lift out the screen support and screen. Then, remove the nozzle & venturi disc, gasket andflow plug(s). Wash the parts in warm, soapy waterand rinse in fresh water. Be sure to clean both the topand bottom of the nozzle & venturi disc. If needed, use a small brush to remove iron or dirt. Do notscratch, misshape, etc., surfaces of the nozzle & ven-turi.
Gently replace all parts in the correct order. Lubricatethe o-ring seal with silicone grease and locate in place.Install and tighten the cap by hand, while supportingthe housing. Overtightening may break the cap orhousing. Put the bypass valve(s) into service (softwater) position.
Recharge the softener to reduce water level in thetank. This will also assure that the softener is com-pletely recharged and ready to provide softened wateragain. Check the water level in the tank by lookingdown the brinewell. If the water level does not dropafter a recharge, the problem has not been resolved.Call your dealer for service.
PROTECT THE WATER SOFTENER FROM
FREEZING
If the softener is installed where it could freeze (sum-mer cottage, lake home, etc.), you must drain all waterfrom it to stop possible freeze damage. To drain thesoftener:
1. Close the shut-off valve on the house main waterpipe, near the water meter or pressure tank.
2. Open a faucet in the soft water pipes to vent pres-sure in the softener.
3. Move the stem in the single bypass valve to bypass.Close the inlet and outlet valve in a 3 valve bypasssystem, and open the bypass valve. If you wantwater in the house pipes again, reopen the shut-offvalve on the main water pipe.
4. Unplug the transformer at the wall outlet. Slideopen the salt lid and remove the softener’s topcover. Take off both drain hoses if they will interferewith moving the softener into position over the drain.
5. Carefully remove the large holding clips at the sof-tener inlet and outlet. Separate the softener fromthe plastic installation adaptors, or from the bypassvalve.
6. Lay a piece of 5 cm thick board near the floor drain(See Figure 44).
7. Move the softener close to the drain. Slowly andgently, tip it over until the rim rests on the woodblock with the inlet and outlet over the drain. Do notallow the softener’s weight to rest on the inlet andoutlet fittings or they may break.
8. Tip the bottom of the softener up a few centimetersand hold until all water has drained. Leave the sof-tener laying like this until you are ready to use it.Plug the inlet and outlet with clean rags to keep dirt, bugs, etc. out.

Úlohy pravidelnej údržbyČistenie Venturi ventiluPre správnu funkciu zariadenia je nevyhnutné, aby bol Venturi ventil vždy čistý. Táto malá súčiastka vytvá-ra sací efekt a nasáva soľný roztok z nádrže na soľ do nádrže so živicou.
Bypass ventil nastavte do polohy „bypass“ (obtok). Skontrolujte hladinu vody v plavákovej ko-more.
1. Uzavrite hlavný prívod vody do zariadenia/objektu (po vodomere a čerpadle).
4. Odpojte zdroj zo zásuvky. Odstráňte kryt z nádrže na soľ a horný krycí prvok zmäkčovača. V prípade potreby odpojte odtokové potrubia.
5. Opatrne odstráňte spony a odpojte zmäkčovač od bypass ventilu.
6. Položte k odtoku drevený hranol hrubý asi 5 cm (po-zri Obr. 44)
7. Položte zmäkčovač na drevo a nahnite ho, aby vy-tiekla voda. Neklaďte zmäkčovač na prítokové alebo odtokové šrobenia, mohli by ste ich poškodiť..
8. Zdvihnite spodnú časť zmäkčovača, aby vytiekla všetka voda. Zmäkčovač môžete nechať v tejto polohe až do ďalšieho použitia. Zapchajte vstupné a výstupné potrubie napríklad čistými handrami, aby ste zabránili vniknutiu prachu a nečistôt.

Troubleshooting
AUTOMATIC ELECTRONIC DIAGNOSTICS
This water softener has a self-diagnostic function for
the electrical system (except input power and/or water
meter). The water softener monitors electronic com-
ponents and circuits for correct operation. If a mal-
function occurs, an error code appears in the display.
While an error code appears in the display, all buttons
are inoperable except the SELECT / MENU button.
SELECT / MENU remains operational so the service
person can perform the Manually Initiated Electronic
Diagnostics, see below, to further isolate the problem.
Procedure for removing error code from dis-
play:
1. Unplug transformer from electrical outlet.
2. Correct problem.
3. Plug in transformer.
4. Wait 8 minutes. The error code will return if
the problem was not corrected.
MANUALLY INITIATED ELECTRONIC
DIAGNOSTICS
1. To enter diagnostics, press and hold the SELECT /
MENU button until “000 - -” shows in the display.
TURBINE OPERATION: If no water is flowing
through the softener, the turbine indicator displays
three zeros. When water is flowing, a 000 to 199
count repeats for each gallon (3.8 liters) of water
passing through the turbine. To check for positive
operation of the turbine if zeros are shown, open a
nearby soft water faucet and observe the turbine
count. If you don’t get a reading in the display with
faucet open, pull the sensor housing from the valve
outlet port (see Fig. 47). Pass a small magnet back
and forth in front of the sensor. You should get a
reading in the display. If you get a reading, unhook
the inlet and outlet plumbing and check the turbine for
binding.
POSITION SWITCH STATUS: The letter “P” and a
dash (or dashes) indicate POSITION switch operation
(See Figure 48). If the letter appears, the switch is
closed. If the dash shows, the switch is open. With
the valve in service, or any of the recharge cycle
positions, the position switch indicator will show the
switch open. While the valve is rotating from one
position to another, the position switch indicator will
show the switch closed. There is likely a problem if
indications vary from this pattern.
OTHER INFORMATION: While in the diagnostics
screen, the following information is available and may
be beneficial for various reasons. This information is
retained by the electronic controller from the first time
electrical power is applied to the unit.
Press and hold the UP button to display the
number of days this controller has had electrical
power applied.
Press and hold the DOWN button to display the
number of regenerations initiated by this controller
since the model code number was entered.
NOTE: If the electronic controller is left in the diag-
nostic display (or a flashing display when set-
ting times or hardness), the normal time of
day display automatically returns if a button
has not been pressed for 4 minutes. To return
to the diagnostic display, repeat step 1, above.

Zapojte zdroj späť do zásuvky.4.
POZÍCIA SPÍNAČA: Písmeno (P) a znak (–) ukazujú aktuálnu pozíciu spínača.

Troubleshooting
This check verifies proper operation of the valvemotor, brine tank fill, brine draw, regeneration flowrates, and other controller functions. Always makethe initial checks, and the manual initiated diagnostics.
NOTE: The electronic control display must show asteady time (not flashing). If an error codeshows, first press the SELECT / MENU buttonto enter the diagnostic display.
1. Press the RECHARGE button and hold in for 3seconds. RECHARGE begins to flash as the soft-ener’s valve advances from the service to fill posi-tion. Remove the brinewell cover and, using aflashlight, observe fill water entering the tank.
If water does not enter the tank, look for anobstructed nozzle, venturi, fill flow plug, brine tub-ing, or brine valve riser pipe.
2. After observing fill, press the RECHARGE button tomove the softener’s valve into the brine position. Aslow flow of water to the drain will begin. Verifybrine draw from the brine tank by shining a flash-light into the brinewell and observing a noticeabledrop in the liquid level. This may take 15 to 20minutes.
NOTE: Be sure water is in contact with the salt, andnot separated by a salt bridge (See "BreakingA Salt Bridge" section).
If the water softener does not draw brine, check for(most likely to least likely):
Dirty or plugged nozzle and venturi, see"Cleaning the Nozzle and Venturi" section.
Nozzle and venturi not seated on the gasket, orgasket deformed.
 Valve seals leaking.
Restriction in valve drain, causing a back-pres-sure (bends, kinks, elevated too high, etc.). See"Install Valve Drain Hose" section.
Obstruction in brine valve or brine tubing.
MANUAL ADVANCE REGENERATION CHECK NOTE: If water system pressure is low, an elevateddrain hose may cause back pressure, stop-ping brine draw.
3. Press the RECHARGE button to move the soften-er’s valve into the backwash position. Look for afast flow of water from the drain hose. Check thatthe drain can adequately handle the flow and volume.
An obstructed flow indicates a plugged top distribu-tor, backwash flow plug, or drain hose.
4. Press the RECHARGE button to move the soften-er’s valve into the fast rinse position. Again lookfor a fast drain flow. Allow the softener to rinse fora few minutes to flush out any brine that mayremain in the resin tank from the brining cycle test.
5. To return the softener’s valve to the service posi-tion, press the RECHARGE button.
RESETTING TO FACTORY DEFAULTS
To reset the electronic controller to its factory defaultfor all settings (time, hardness, etc.):
1. Press the SELECT / MENU button and hold it untilthe display changes twice to show the flashingmodel code.
2. Press the UP button (a few times, if necessary)to display a flashing “SoS”.
3. Press the SELECT / MENU button, and the elec-tronic controller will restart.
4. Set the present time, hardness, etc., as describedon pages 10 & 11.
FIG. 49
Hlásenia chýbManuálna kontrola regenerácie
Nasledujúcimi krokmi skontrolujete správne fungovanie motora, hlavného ventilu, plnenie a vyprázdňovanie plavákovej komory, prietoku regenerácie a ostatné funk-cie riadiaceho panelu. Vždy vykonajte úvodnú kontrolu a manuálnu diagnostiku.
1. Stlačte a držte tlačidlo „RECHARGE“. Odstráňte kryt pla-vákovej komory a pomocou baterky skontrolujte, či do komory priteká voda.
5. Opäť stlačte tlačidlo „RECHARGE“ a zariadenie sa vráti do režimu bežnej prevádzky.
Obnovenie továrenských nastavení
Nasledujúcimi krokmi môžete obnoviť továrenské nasta-venia (čas, tvrdosť vody atď.):1. Stlačte a držte tlačidlo „SELECT/MENU“, pokým sa
na displeji nezobrazí blikajúci kód modelu.2. Stlačte tlačidlo „Hore“ ▲ (aj niekoľkokrát), pokým sa
neukáže blikajúce „SoS“.
3. Stlačte tlačidlo „SELECT/MENU“. Riadiaca jednotka sa reštartuje.
4. Nastavte presný čas, tvrdosť a pod. podľa sekcie „Programovanie 1“.
