WHAT ARE BASIC
ECCLESIALCOMMUNITIES?
A generic term that refers to thecommunities of faith that haveemerged
at the grassroots.
Small caring groups within the
parish.

What is the signifcance o this term BECs or Basic Ecc!esia! Comm"nities?
CommunityThese are communities localcommunities whose members live in closeproximity and interact with each other regularly.
These are not specialized groups but stable
environments.
BasicA basic community is small enough for themembers to know each other well and relatedeeply as friends but not too small that it turns
into a primary group or barkada instead of acommunity.
Ecclesial A way of being Church the Church
that is realized! localized and experienced at therassroots! in the nei hborhood.
