Aims and Objectives:

Students should

• deepen their basic knowledge in mechanics by studying one field of sports

• be able to use java applets independently in order to gain profound knowledge about forces

• be able to use InLoT hard- and software and analyse the obtained data

• learn how to organise an experiment outside the classroom

presentation of selected photos of ski jumpers, pole vaulters,…

giving some impressions of a ski jump training camp (video clips)

discussion about accelaration and forces acting on ski jumpers
