IH World OrganizationInternational House Vancouver is a member of the

International House World Organization, an educational

trust founded in 1953 by John and Brita Haycraft. Their

aim was to raise the standards of language teaching world-

wide and this aim has remained central to the organization ever

Over fifty years later, the network of schools affiliated with

programs: the Vancouver Junior Program in both winter and

summer; the Children Adventure Program in summer; and the

residential Junior Program at the campus of the University of

British Columbia. International House San Diego operates two

separate programs: the summer and winter Junior Programs

with homestay accommodation; and the Junior Program

SDSU, a summer residential program held on the campus

of San Diego State University. International House Whistler

operates the Junior Adventure Camp in summer.

Director places students in safe, comfortable homes in

pleasant neighborhoods. It takes approximately 20-40

minutes to get to and from the school by bus.

Our Housing Director is available 24 hours a day to answer

Summer EnglishClasses in the summer provide students with a combination

of General English skills such as speaking, listening, reading,

writing, grammar and pronunciation. Classes are often outdoors

where our trained staff will improve your speaking skills by

using nature as a classroom, discussing such topics as the

environment, forestry, Global Warming and native culture.

Students may choose a full time (25 hours per week) or part

time (15 hours per week) schedule.

Winter EnglishOur unique “flip flop” schedule, with classes in the mornings and afternoons, give our students the opportunity to enjoy skiing and snowboarding without compromising their academic studies. Extra tutorials are available for more intensive study. And students can work on specific needs with their teachers in a smaller group setting.
