April 30 Small Chapters – fewer than 200 members Large Chapters – more than 200 members Chapter awards – can’t have won in the previous
two years Councils – no size divisions or previous winner

Individual AwardsDistinguished Member Second highest form of recognition given to an IFMA member (the first is
IFMA Fellow, the most prestigious title bestowed by the Association) Presented to a Member or Associate member
provided sustained, outstanding leadership to a chapter, council and/or the Association at the international level.
Highly valued by his or her company, IFMA and the facility management profession. Demonstrate the best in leadership and ethics.
Eligibility: The nominee must have been a Member or Associate member of IFMA for at least the past three years.
Emerging Leader Award - NEW
Member or Associate members who: • has served as a Chapter, Council or IFMA leader/volunteer• is advancing in their career and professional development• has a long-term FM career plan and goals
Eligibility: The nominee must have been a Student Member, Young Professional, Professional Member or Associate member of IFMA for at least the past three years. The nominee must be thirty years of age or younger OR in the first five years of their career.
George Graves Award for FM Achievement Individual or team whose facility management program or idea has
had a substantial, positive effect on the success of their organization. Demonstrate how their program has affected business
objectives and contributed to improved financial success. Demonstrate innovation, and their achievements will be used to
educate other facility management professionals. Eligibility: Any exceptional facility management program or
technically-oriented project is eligible. This award is intended to honor those who achieve “above and beyond” the normal scope of job responsibilities.
Sheila Sheridan Award for Sustainable Design or Energy Efficient Project
Individual or team whose project is an outstanding example of a base building and/or interior design facilities project that promotes sustainable design and/or energy efficiency. Encourages, rewards and recognizes excellence,
leadership and innovation for the design, construction and operation of environmentally responsible and sustainable projects for commercial and other non-residential buildings.

Panelists on the call What was most challenging? What did your chapter do well as far as the
process and/or the submission package? Was there a key component that you feel turned made the difference?
Advice to Submitters
What we hear from the judges Submission should be cohesive, thorough and
well put-together Content is king Provide details and quantifiable data to
support your answers Write, re-write, edit, and spell check. Have
others (outsiders) read the submission
What we hear from the judges
Don’t forget or discount the exhibits. Pay attention to the points they are worth. Relevant, well thought-out, supportive
Judges will know and appreciate those that spend the time to do it right.

Ask to see winning submissions Going through the process makes your chapter
