Highlights:
Happy Memorial Day everyone!
We started out our week with Kindergarten Orientation.
Our Pre-K/Kindergarten crew did a wonderful job presenting at our orientation before leading a
tour of our school building.
What’s an orientation without cookies and juice on our lunch line?
Tuesdays Morton Civic Association awarded students for their terrific essay writing.
Congratulations to our essay winners.
KS did a super job of leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance Friday Morning.
The Kindergarten trip to the Tanglewood Preserve was a fun and educational time as
kindergarteners enjoyed learning about birds, mammals, and reptiles in a relaxed outdoor setting.
What do birds and reptiles have in common? Both are descendants of the dinosaur.
I hear they make good pets…. Goats not dinosaurs.
Kindergarteners enjoyed their butterfly release this past week.
3rd
Grade Mexican Fiesta had our students sharing alphabetical cultural happenings followed by
songs and dance of Mexico.
Congratulations to 5S for their collection and delivery to the Ronald McDonald House. Students also wrote notes
and cards for residents and visitors. Nice Job!
Congratulations to 3Lewis on their fundraiser for the Hempstead Animal Shelter by
selling bracelets they made.
Congratulations to Marina on her presentation to 2nd
graders on Diabetes. She gave a
very informative report on Diabetes and every child received a Diabetes Awareness
bracelet..
Here’s to a great week!
