03.17.2k18...March Kūkaniloko 3RD Saturday O΄ahu Community Clean-up day...Mahalo to HCCW nā lālā ΄ōiwi a me nā lālā hoʻokama who came out from 9 – noon. Members were joined by family and friends, Kamalani Academy families and Nā Lālā o ka Pū Hala. Everyone gathered to clean the paehumu from weeds and overgrowth. Lālā ΄ōiwi kupuna Pila Short donated 36 ΄Uki΄uki slips for planting. Kūpuna, Mākua a me nā keiki worked side by side till done.

03.15.2k18...Kipapa Hele wāwae Phase I. Cultural consultants & HCCW members, were escorted by the Army and the Developers for several hours of hiking the uplands of Kipapa Valley and Stream. We were reassured that plans avoid contact with any significant cultural sites in the valley. Mahalo kākou as we guard the kapu of Kūkaniloko.

The Hawaiian Civic Club of Wahiawā extended an invitation to all Neighborhood Board Directors to join us for a Piko Listening Journey. The Neighborhood Board has invited the Office of Hawaiian Affairs OHA to come give a presentation at the May meeting at Hale Koa, Fred Wright District Park @ 6. 03.26.2k18...Kūkaniloko Master Plan Working Group, KMPWG, met for another 6 hour retreat at Kamalani Academy in Wahiawā. 03.28.2k18...Kipapa Hele wāwae Phase II ... Today we continued a trek into to Lower Kipapa Valley and Stream. Once again family members were escorted by the Army and Developers to observe intended sites. We were joined by Colonel Stephen E. Dawson, Garrison Commander, United States Army Garrison-Hawaii (USAG-HI) - since 2016.

Marae Ha΄a Koa is a Hawaiian Culture Center in the direct lineage of the centuries old tradition of the Waianae Wahipana (the leeway side of O'ahu). The Marae has implemented numerous educational and
