●Characteristics of the Site : Due to persisting traffic jams in Hongeun Intersection, poor central facilities and urban space structurethat could not serve for newly incomers, and etc., businesses kept outflowing to downtown or nearbySinchon and Yeonsinnae and the function of the center of the district were lagged.
●Method : Urban environmental improvement project, and district unit plan●Objectives : -“Active and Affluent Hongje” through securing self-sufficiency and competitiveness
- “Attractive Hongje” through upgrading urban landscape and the image- “Convenient Hongje” through solving traffic jams and improving pedestrian environment
●Effects : Promotion of Hongje subway station area as a specialized district in the northwestern Seoul with a theme of high-quality andenvironmental-friendliness in order to help the district develop into the center of Seodaemun-gu
