Dear Members and Friends of HSK, First, I want to say that last Sunday was so special to me. Seeing about 28 mothers standing in front of the church was a big surprise for me. And the more I looked at them, I felt like dancing and saying, ‘See what the Lord has done!” Wow! I wish my mother could have been here last Sunday. She would also have been rejoicing. That was a great Sunday but more like that one will come to our church often this year. I believe. And if you were not here last Sunday, I announced that the lost wedding ring has been found. Yes, Lynn-san found the ring and I was so happy as well as thankful to the Lord for giving it back to me. This event reminded me of a parable which Jesus told about a woman who lost a silver coin. “When she had found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin which I had lost!’(Luke 15:18). Yes, I rejoice too. This past week, as you may have read or seen on TV, trade between China and the US has become more difficult. President Trump is determined to stop unfair trade practices which says must stop. I am daily praying for Mr. Trump as well as leaders of other nations. Someone in the Middle East could easily start a war by speaking just a few words. Many of us may not be interested in what is happening in other countries but I encourage you to

pray for some leader this month. The dictator in North Korea could do something that would adversely affect Japan! Today, we will sing along with a Nigerian singer/songwriter. I think that several of the songs she has written are full of truth which needs to be firmly attached to our minds. As I said last week, we may not use the word ‘impossible’ very often but we live with too many thoughts about what we think is impossible to do. ‘The things that are impossible with people are possible with God’(Luke 18:27). I hope what you hear today will dissolve the impossible thoughts you have. Last Sunday afternoon, I had a good discussion with the overseer and deacons of HSK. It is such a joy to talk with them. We are searching for new ideas about how to share the gospel. And if you have any ideas please talk to me or to them soon. (At that meeting it was also decided that the next HSK BBQ will be on the last Sunday of June! I hope you will be there!) Recently Ruth-san and I purchased two flowering plants, Hibiscus. For several years the big colorful blossoms amaze us….handmade by God Almighty. And if you bring them indoors during the winter, they will continue to grow. The conclusion: Buy a Hibiscus. You might see something that reminds you of the Lord. Your pastor……Ben

The church tithe…of ¥61,000 plus ¥2,000 was given to others this past week and a report will be in next week’s bulletin. In the meantime, thank you for giving to your church and giving to others! Your pastor is so happy that we are giving to other churches, pastors, and Christian organizations in other nations.

Next Friday, May 31st…everyone is asked to participate in praying and fasting for the entire day…Fifth Friday

Fasting and Prayer Day! There are many nations that are in the middle of civil wars, others nations which want to start a war…

and we need God’s help if there is peace. Let’s pray and fast!

This Saturday, 25th…the children’s Joy Club will meet in the park next to the church! Joy Club leaders believe the weather is good for meet-

ing outside and…other children in the park may want to attend this special event. (If it rains, Joy Club will meet inside the church!) There will be a few

changes in this event since we will meet under a big tent! Come on! Let’s do something special this

Saturday!

On June 8th beginning at 7 PM… all Christians attending HSK are invited to the Enshu Revival Night meeting

which will be held at the Tenryu Megumi Church in Te n r y u Ku . M o r e information about this meeting can be found on the bulletin board.

…………………………………………………….. “Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones. And shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.” “Sing for joy in the Lord, O you righteous ones. Praise is becoming to the upright.” Psalm 32:11 & 33:1

If when you read the words that God is silent, then I suggest you humbly examine your own heart to see if your confession of sin was ful l and sincere…Are you bargaining with God? Was there true repentance or just regret because you got caught? The very word that is silent to us can also penetrate our hearts and expose our thoughts and motives. David knew that God desired truth “in the inward parts” (Ps. 51:6), so he did not stop with a mere surface confession. A second step is this: Do everything possible to make things right with others. Often there is a spiritual decline in our lives before we sin, and during that time we could easily hurt the people we live with or work with. After we sin and get out of fellowship with God, we can do terrible damage to others. If our confession has been sincere we will want to do everything possible to correct these things and make matters right with others.

“Well”, I’ve confessed it to the Lord,” we argue, “so I don’t have to apologize to anybody else.” That kind of an attitude may be evidence that we have not really confessed our sins to God. A broken heart toward God cannot be hard toward men. If I have honestly humbled myself before the Father, I should have no problem humbling myself before others. I have a feeling that the Spirit is grieved more by our proud attitude of self-righteousness than perhaps by any other sin that we Christian’s commit. And yet, if we want to experience forgiveness in our hearts, we must be certain that there is nothing between us and our brothers and sisters in Christ. One of the marks of a truly forgiven person is his willingness to in turn forgive others. Let’s examine our hearts and be sure all is right between us and our heavenly Father and with others.

A friend of HSK, Miho-san, just gave birth to a premature little baby girl. The baby was only 900 grams at birth. Please pray for her to grow well and be safe.

Please remember to pray for Morita Susan-san’s friend, Helen-san, who is dealing with cancer. May she be healed in Jesus name!

Someone is asking for healing for Gabriel de Carvalho-san. He has Leukemia and is hospitalized now. God can still heal even today.

Bebe-san is still not completely feeling well. Please continue to pray for her and for Truman-san as he has to do much to care for her and the family.

Let’s pray for pastors and missionaries we know who are serving the Lord here in Japan. May they all be encouraged this week.

Our pastor’s mother, Wrae-san, is dealing with pain in her eyes now. May she be healed soon and feel good again. Who will pray for her this week?

Let’s pray for the Kikuchi family as they prepare to move to the US in June. May Eri-san and Tetsuo-san be strengthened and encouraged this week.

Still too much unrest going on in the Middle East. Let’s pray for the peace of Jerusalem this week.

Will you pray for our Sunday School teachers here at HSK? They want their students to learn more about Jesus through their teaching. ………………………………………………………….. Note: If you do not want your prayer request in the church bulletin, please mark that clearly on your prayer request card.
