Grade 9 Timetable
n Colonel By is NON-semestered, courses run all year, in a four day cycle.
n Each day has four 75 minute periods n Classes run on alternate days day
1 classes repeat on day 3, day 2 classes repeat on day 4

Grade 9 Registration n If you reside in our school zone and your child is
NOT at an OCDSB school that is a designated feeder school for Colonel By, please contact the school office beginning Monday, January 20, 2014 to make a registration appointment with a Vice Principal.
n Please bring proof of address (two required) Drivers License Lease/Ownership document Utility Bill with your name
Option Sheets & Registration o Students received a Colonel By Secondary School
Option Sheet and Registration Form during the Grade 8 visit on January 14th. This form includes the students course requests.
o Guidance counsellors discussed the different types of courses available and provided strategies for identifying and selecting courses that are a best fit for students.
o Students will bring the form home to be filled in, signed
by a parent/guardian. Please return the forms to their current elementary school by February 6, 2014.

The Colonel By Guidance and Administration teams invite CB families seeking assistance with Grade 9 Option Sheets to our:

4:00 6:00 pm.
Cross-Boundary Transfer Process 2013-14
n The applications require the approval of the principal at the receiving school, after consultation with the principal of the sending school. The receiving principal may request evidence and reasoning in support of the transfer application.
n Applications to the receiving school between
February 10-21, 2014. After this, applications are late and reviewed periodically (June, September).
Criteria for Cross-Boundary Applications
n particular learning needs of or requirements placed on the students; and/or
n access to a course package that is not available at the students designated school, including transfer at the Grade 9 level to access a course package at the receiving school that does not commence until grade 10; and/or
n exceptional personal circumstances.
