  • EVACUATION SYSTEMSOur commitment to safety is unmatched in the industry

COMMITTED TO PASSENGER SAFETY With over forty years of experience designing, developing and manufacturing inflatable products, Goodrich Interiors Evacuation Systems is a world leader in the production of aircraft evacuation slides.

Our customers know that our excellent reputation is based upon our commitment to safety, innovation and service that is unmatched in the aerospace market. We have raised the bar in the industry for cost-effectiveness, quality, reliability and safety. We are known for our Aircraft on Ground (AOG) servicefast, worldwide turnaround on parts and service which facilitates your operational efficiency and helps get your aircraft back in the air where it belongs.

In addition to Evacuation Systems dedication to keeping your aircraft flying, we have made many advances in lightweight materials and escape slide components that have become industry standards. Evacuation Systems was the first company to use lightweight urethane-coated fabrics designed to meet performance and stowage requirements for the Boeing 747 Stretched Upper Deck. Since then, we have taken that existing technology to the next level by designing and developing all 16 evacuation slides on board the Airbus A380 which is the largest commercial aircraft in existence today.

Other advanced evacuation slide technologies include carbon composite cylinders, composite aspirators and pressure relief valves which are examples of Evacuation Systems extensive research and development efforts. We are working continuously to help our customers and make

improvements to our products. The aerospace industry constantly challenges manufacturers to improve performance, lower costs, simplify routine maintenance and reduce weight and volume whenever possible. We strive to meet and exceed these challenges. Evacuation Systems Consolidated Test Facility (CTS) accommodates testing of aircraft evacuation slides which are on board many airlines today and come in various shapes and sizes.

    Slide development functional testing

Replication of high winds, rain and extreme temperatures Adverse conditions such as 25-knot winds Rains of one inch per hour are simulated Buoyancy test of the evacuation slide/rafts in the CTS aquatic

test facility in water-landing conditions Life rafts are tested for boarding ability in water

Additional tests are conducted in the CTS aquatic test facility which allows quality control teams to test buoyancy of the evacuation slides and aviation life rafts in water-landing conditions. Life rafts are also tested on how easily they can be boarded in the water. By utilizing the industrys most rigorous battery of tests, Evacuation Systems is able to provide products designed to protect you, your passengers and crew in emergency situations.

FLIGHT CREW TRAINING EVACUATION SYSTEMS Goodrich Interiors emergency evacuation training slides are designed to withstand rigorous training and function exactly like standard equipment on board the aircraft. There is no better way to train for an emergency evacuation than by using an Evacuation Systems training slide which includes features like deceleration pads, sensor ports, multiple inflation and deflation options and more. These features make the emergency evacuation training as safe and as real-istic as possible.

INTERIORS TRAINING PROGRAM In our continuing commitment to aviation safety, Evacuation Systems has a dedicated Customer Training Facility and support staff that offers two customer-designed training certification programs:

System Familiarization and Maintenance Training Flight Crew Usage and Familiarization Training

The systems and maintenance training certification is designed for airline engineering, quality control, and maintenance personnel. Instruction covers testing, inspection, minor repairs and packing for safety system employees. To ensure continued cabin safety, Evacuation Systems offers recurrent training courses for maintenance personnel at three to four year intervals. We also offer training programs to familiarize flight crews with the proper use of evacuation systems.

LIFERAFTS Our liferafts come in 4, 8, 10 and 12-person configurations which can be used on board helicopters, corporate jets, cargo freighters and military aircraft. Each liferaft adheres to the latest FAA and EASA design standards TSO-c70a, Type I certification.

Specialty Seating Systems has the experience, resources, and global presence to provide products, support, service, and parts anytime, anywhere. A proven track record and exceptional technical knowledge in seat design and certification allows us to set industry standards for cost, reliability, and superior design.

80 YEARS IN AEROSPACE Goodrich Interiors Specialty Seating Systems history spans over a half century of service to the aerospace industry. The original Alexander Aircraft Company was established in 1925 and started building its flagship 900 Eaglerock Aircraft model in 1928. It supported the war effort in Europe during the 1930s and 40s by supplying engine mounts. It was not until the 1950s when the corporation began to focus solely on specialty seating, including product for Medevac Pedestal and Litter Assemblies for the US Armys UH-60 Blackhawk, Amtrak train passenger seats, as well as seating for the U.S. Space Shuttle Program during the 1980s.

DISTINCTION IN DESIGN AND QUALITY Our broad-based specialty seating experience allows us to address many diverse and unique customer requirements. While some requirements are common across all aerospace products, many are unique to seating, and some specific to certain types of installations.

Specialty Seating Systems products: Low weight Low piece part count Maximum comfort Superior quality High reliability (low life-cycle cost) Highly scalable Reduced time for final assembly Simple installation

These factors will mitigate program risk for our Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers, as well as provide an exceptional level of confidence to those we support through our vast aftermarket offering.

Specialty Seating Systems is the acknowledged industry leader in research and development efforts for both cockpit and cabin aircrew seats to meet the dynamic testing requirements necessary for newly certified aircraft. Our state-of-the-art, 16g dynamically certified cockpit and cabin crew seats, and 30g crashworthy helicopter seats are showcased on commercial, regional, business, and military aircraft for most major OEMs. Our portfolio includes proprietary products designed specifically for Boeing, Airbus, Cessna, and Bombardier, as well as key military OEMs to include Lockheed Martin and Boeing Military.
