The truthful are three –Habeeb Al-Najjar and Hizqeel and Amir Al-

Momineenasws.

ص ن نباتة عنأ علي ع قال: قال رسول للاه بغ بأ صأ خلها منأ عن الأ ه يدأ ت يا علي بابها و كذب منأ زعم أنه مة و أنأ : أنا مدينة الأحكأر بابها. غيأ

From Al Asbagh Bin Nubata,

(It has been narrated) from Aliasws having said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Isaww am the city of the wisdom and youasws, O Aliasws, are its gate; and he has lied, the one who claims that he can enter it from other than its gate’’.1

لى عنأ أبي ن أبي ليأ من بأ حأ د الره صعبأ قيل ه قال: قال رسول للاه من ياسين و حزأ ار مؤأ ن موسى النهجه يقون ثلثة حبيب بأ د : الص. الث و هو أفأضلهمأ ن أبي طالب الثه ن و علي بأ عوأ من آل فرأ مؤأ

Andul Rahman Bin Abu Layli who said,

‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘The truthful are three – The truthful are three – Habeeb Bin Musa Al-Najjar, the Momin in (Surah) Yaseen, and Hizkeel the Momin of the people of the Pharaohla, and Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws, the third, and heasws is superior than them’’.2

Hadeeth of Zayd Bin Arqam regarding the Mastership Being for Aliasws

شدأ ترأ ن يدي النهبي ص فقال أ ل أدلكمأ على منأ إن اسأ ا جلوسا بيأ قم قال: كنه ن أرأ د بأ لكوا؟ قلأنا بلى يا زيأ تموه لنأ تضلوا و لنأ تهأن أبي فقال هو هذا و أشار إلى علي بأ طالب ع رسول للاه

Zayd Bin Arqam who said,

‘We were seated in front of the Prophetsaww, and hesaww said: ‘Shall Isaww indicate you all upon the one, if you were to seek his guidance, you will never stray and never be destroyed?’ We said, ‘Yes, O Rasool-Allahsaww!’ So hesaww said: ‘He is that oneasws’ – and hesaww gestured towards Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws’.

Then hesaww said: ‘Befriend himasws, (take himasws as a) brother, and as a Vizier, and ratify himasws and help himasws, for Jibraeelsaww informed mesaww with what Isaww have just said to you all’’.3

Abdullah Bin Al Fazl Al Hashimy who said,

‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘The one who says regarding usasws, a couplet of a poem, Allahazwj would Build for him a house in the Paradise’’.4

خرة د في الأ يا و سي نأ د في الد ت سي ص لعلي ع يا علي أنأ ن عبهاس قال: قال رسول للاه ك فقدأ أحبهني و منأ أحبهني فقدأ ابأ منأ أحبهغض غضك فقدأ أبأ و منأ أبأ عزه و جله.أحبه للاه غض للاه غضني فقدأ أبأ ني و منأ أبأ

Ibn Abbas said, ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said to Aliasws: ‘O Aliasws! Youasws are the chief in the world, and the chief in the Hereafter. The one who loves youasws so he has loved mesaww, and the one who loves mesaww so he has loved Allahazwj, and the one who hates youasws so he has hated mesaww, and the one who hates mesaww so he has hated Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic’’.5

Allahazwj is Angered for the anger of (Syeda) Fatimaasws

د حفيد الأعبهاس سنة ن محمه بأ د للاه ن عبأ د بأ ر محمه ثنا أبو بكأ ائي 337قال: حده ن عامر الطه مد بأ ن أحأ بأ د للاه قال أبو الأقاسم عبأثني أبي في سنة رة قال: حده قال: 260بالأبصأ

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Abu Bakr Muhammad Bin Abdullah Bin Muhammad Hafeyd Al-Abbas in the year 337, from Abu Al-Qasim Abdullah Bin Ahmad Bin Aamir Al Ta’iy at Al Basra, from his father in the year 260, said,

ن ثني علي بأ ضا سنة حده فر قال: 194موسى الر ن جعأ ثني أبي موسى بأ ثني أبي قال: حده د قال: حده ن محمه فر بأ ثني أبي جعأ حدهثني أبي ن علي قال: حده ن بأ ن الأحسيأ ثني أبي علي بأ ن علي قال: حده د بأ محمه ن أبي طالب ع قال: قال رسول للاه ن علي بأ ن بأ الأحسيأ

ضى برضاها. ص ضب لغضب فاطمة و يرأ ليغأ : إنه للاه

‘It was narrated to me by Aliasws Bin Musa Al-Rezaasws in the year 194 having said: ‘It was narrated to measws by myasws father Musaasws Bin Ja’farasws saying: ‘It was narrated to measws by myasws father Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws saying: ‘It was narrated to measws by myasws father Muhammadasws Bin Aliasws saying: ‘It was narrated to measws by myasws father Aliasws Bin Al-Husayn Bin Aliasws saying: ‘It was narrated to measws by myasws father Al-Husaynasws Bin Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws saying: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said:

‘Allahazwj Gets Angered for the anger of (Syeda) Fatimaasws and is Pleased at herasws pleasure’.6

ن عبهاس رمة عن ابأ يقول عنأ عكأ ص إنه للاه تمأ على : أنه عليا ع كان يقول في حياة رسول للاه قلبأ قابكمأ أ فإنأ مات أوأ قتل انأ و أعأقابنا قلب على أعأ ل ننأ للاه د إذأ هدانا للاه ه ف بعأ ن عم إني لخوه و ابأ ه و للاه لئنأ مات أوأ قتل لقاتلنه على ما قاتل عليأ منأ أحق و للاه

به مني.

From Ikrama, from Ibn Abbas,

‘Aliasws was saying during the life-time of Rasool-Allahsaww that Allahazwj is Saying [3:144] if then he dies or is killed will you turn back upon your heels? By Allahazwj! We will not turn back upon our heels after Allahazwj having Guided us. By Allahazwj! If hesaww is killed, Iasws shall keep fighting upon what hesaww had fought upon. By Allahazwj! Iasws am hissaww brother, and the sonasws of hissaww uncleas. So who is more rightful with it than measws?’’.7

Hadeeth of Rabi’e Al-Sa’ady during the differing of the people of Al

Iraq.

ظان عنأ ن أبي الأيقأ ار بأ ثنا أبي عنأ عمه ن مزاحم قال: حده ر بأ ن نصأ ن بأ برنا الأحسيأ دي قال: أخأ عأ دي عنأ ربيعة السه رة الأعبأ أبي هريأ قال:

He said, ‘It was informed to us by Al Husayn Bin Nasr Bin Muzahim who said, ‘It was narrated to us by my father, from Ammar Bin Abu Al Yaqzan, from Abu Hureyra Al Abady, from Rabi’e Al Sa’ady who said,

جل؟ فقلأت أنا ص فقال لي من الره جد رسول للاه ن الأيمان و هو في مسأ فة بأ ت حذيأ حبا بأخ لي قدأ أتيأ دي قال مرأ عأ ربيعة السهيا و نأ ت في طلب عرض من الد م حاجتك؟ قال قلأت ما جئأ ل الأيوأ صه قبأ ت به و لمأ أر شخأ ت منأ سمعأ ت من الأعراق فقدمأ لكنأ قدمأ

ترقوا ع م افأ د قوأ ن لمنأ عقله عنأ ر واضح بي مأ ما دعاهمأ إلى ذلك و الأ حان للاه فة سبأ س فرق فقال حذيأ و ما يقولون لى خمأ

‘I went over to Huzeyfa Bin Al-Yaman, and he was in the Masjid of Rasool-Allahsaww. So he said to me, ‘Who is the man (Who are you)?’ I said, ‘I am Rabile Al-Sa’ady’. He said, ‘Welcome to a brother of mine whom I have heard of and had not seen this person before today. (What) is your need?’ I said, ‘I did not come to seek something from the world, but I proceeded from Al-Iraq, coming from the presence of a group which has dispersed upon five sects’. Huzeyfa said, ‘Glorious is Allahazwj! What called them to that? And the matter is clear, clarified for the one who has intellect. And what are they saying?’

He said, ‘I said, ‘A group is saying that Abu Bakr is the most rightful of the people with the people and the closest to the matter (Caliphate), because Rasool-Allahsaww had named him as ‘The truthful one’ ( يق د and he was with himsaww in the cave. And a ,(الصgroup says, ‘But Umar Bin Al-Khattab (is more rightful) because Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘O Allahazwj! Cherish Al-Islam and the Religion with Abu Jahl or with Umar Bin Al Khattab’’.

So Huzeyfa Bin al-Yaman said, ‘Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic, rather Cherished the Religion with Muhammadsaww and did not Cherish it with someone else!’

راء و ل أقلهت الأ ص قال ما أظلهت الأخضأ قة أبو ذر الأغفاري لنه رسول للاه راء منأ ذ و قالتأ فرأ دق منأ أبي ذر و غبأ جة أصأ ي لهأر ه و خيأ دق منأ أصأ راء فرسول للاه ه الأغبأ راء و أقلهتأ ه الأخضأ قدأ أظلهتأ

(I said), ‘And a group says, ‘Abu Zarr Al-Ghifaryra (is more rightful), because Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Neither has the blue (sky) shaded nor has the earth carried a more truthful than of Abu Zarrra’, and the blue (sky) had shaded himas and the dust carried himas. Thus, Rasool-Allahsaww is more truthful than himas and better’.

قة سلأمان زف و هو م و قالتأ فرأ ر ل ينأ خر و هو بحأ ل و الأ وه رك الأعلأم الأ ص قال أدأ ت الأفارسي لنه رسول للاه ل الأبيأ ا أهأ نه

And a group said, ‘Salman Al-Farsyra, because Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Hera has come across the former knowledge and the latter, and hera is an ocean not depleting, and hera is from usasws, the Peopleasws of the Household’.

ر بقة الأخامسة همأ و منأ يشأ ر الطه فة ما منعك منأ ذكأ جبيل و إنه لعلي و شيعته من قال ثمه سكت فقال حذيأ نأ لأسبيل و الزه ب من السهخرون. لون و الأ وه بط به الأ عزه و جله مقاما يغأ للاه

He said, ‘Then I was silent, so Huzeyfa said, ‘What prevented you from mentioning the fifth segment? And they are the ones who would be drinking from the Salsabeel and the Zanjabeel (springs of Paradise)? And that Aliasws and hisasws Shias are at a position from Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic which the former ones and the latter ones would be boasting about’.8

He said, ‘It was narrated to me by Al hassan Bin Ali Bin Fazzal,

From Abu Al-Hassan Aliasws Bin Musa Al-Rezaasws, from hisasws fatherasws, from hisasws forefathersasws having said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Aliasws is from mesaww and Isaww am

from Aliasws. May Allahazwj Fight against the one who fights Aliasws. May Allahazwj Curse the one who opposes Aliasws. Aliasws is the Imamasws, the Caliph after mesaww.

م عليه و منأ فارقه فقدأ فارقني و منأ آثر على علي فقدأ م على علي فقدأ تقده ب لمنأ آثر عليه أنا سلأم لم منأ تقده نأ سالمه و حرأ حاربه و ولي لمنأ واله و عدو لمنأ عاداه.

The one who proceeds to Aliasws, so he has proceeded to mesaww, and the one who separates from himasws so he has separated from mesaww, and the one who prefers (someone else) over Aliasws, so he has preferred (someone else) over mesaww. Isaww am at peace to the one who is at peace with himasws, and Isaww am at war with the one who is at war with himasws, and a friend of the one who befriends himasws and an enemy of the one who is inimical to himasws’’.9

The Chair of Prestige which Aliasws would be sitting upon.

ص ادق ع عنأ آبائه ع قال: قال رسول للاه تى بك يا علي على حجلة منأ نور و على رأأسك عن الصه م الأقيامة يؤأ : إذا كان يوأن ثلثة أساطير ل إله إله كان على كل ركأ بعة أرأ ة تاج له أرأ الأجنه تا علي مفأ د رسول للاه محمه للاه

From Al-Sadiqasws, from hisasws forefathersasws having said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘When it will be the Day of Judgment, they would come with youasws, O Aliasws, upon a carriage of light, and upon yourasws head would be a crown having four corners for it. Upon each corner would be three sentences:- “There is no god except Allahazwj. Muhammadsaww is Rasoolsaww of Allahazwj. Aliasws is the key to the Paradise”.

سي ي خرون في صعيد واحد فتأأمر ثمه يوضع لك كرأ لون و الأ وه مع لك الأ ه يجأ عد عليأ سي الأكرامة فتقأ رف بكرأ ة عأ لشيعتك إلى الأجنهار لقدأ فاز ت قسيم النه ة و أنأ ت قسيم الأجنه ار فأنأ دائك إلى النه م أمين و بأعأ ت في ذلك الأيوأ ك و خاب و خسر منأ عاداك فأنأ منأ توله

الأواضحة. ة للاه و حجه للاه

Then a chair would be placed for youasws, and the prestige would be recognised by the chair. So youasws would sit upon it and there would be gathered for youasws, the former ones and the later ones in one plane, and youasws would order for yourasws Shias to the Paradise and yourasws enemies to the Fire, as youasws are the distributor of the Paradise and youasws are the distributor of the Fire. He has succeeded, the one who befriended youasws, and (he has) lost, the one who is inimical to youasws. Thus, youasws, during that day, would be the executor of the (Will of) Allahazwj and the clear Divine Authority of Allahazwj’’.10

The Fire does not harm Jibraeelas when heas enters it in order to

extract the one who pleads to Allahazwj the Exalted by Muhammadsaww

and hissaww Progenyasws.

ران الأ ن عمأ يى بأ ن يحأ مد بأ ن أحأ د بأ ثنا محمه ار قال: حده يى الأعطه ن يحأ د بأ ثنا محمه ن علي الأكوفي عن قال: حده عري عن الأحسن بأ شأن ع ن أبي الأعلء عنأ جابر الأعبهاس بأ يى بأ ق عنأ يحأ ن رزأ مد بأ امر عنأ أحأ

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Yahya Al Attar, from Muhammad Bin Ahmad Bin Yahya Bin Imran Al Ashary, from Al Hassan Bin Ali Al Kufy, from Al Abbas Bin Aamir, from Ahmad bin Rizq, from Yahya Bin Abu Al A’ala, from Jabir,

عون سنة ق عين خريفا و الأخريف سبأ ار سبأ دا مكث في النه فر الأباقر ع قال: إنه عبأ عزه و جله بحق عنأ أبي جعأ ه سأل للاه ال ثمه إنه ع حى للاه تني قال فأوأ ا رحمأ ته لمه ل بيأ د و أهأ ف بي محمه ه فقال يا رب و كيأ رجأ دي فأخأ بطأ إلى عبأ رئيل ع أن اهأ زه و جله إلى جبأ

دا و سلما قال يا رب فما علأمي بموأ تها أنأ تكون برأ ار قال إني قدأ أمرأ ه في ج بالأهبوط في النه ين ضعه قال إنه ب منأ سعير سج

From Abu Ja’far Al-Baqirasws having said: ‘A servant would remain in the Fire for seventy ‘Khareyfas’, and the ‘Khareyf’ is of seventy years. Then he would ask Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic by the right of Muhammadsaww and the Peopleasws of hissaww Household, ‘Have Mercy on me!’ So Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic would Reveal unto Jibraeelas: “Descend to Myazwj servant and extract him!” So heas would say: ‘O Lordazwj! And how would it be with meas with the descent into the Fire?’ Heazwj would Say: “Iazwj have Commanded it to become a coolness and a safety (for youas)!” Heas would say: ‘But Ias have no knowledge of his place (location)’. Heazwj would Say: “He is in a pit from the Blazing Fire of Sijjeen”.

ار ت تناشدني في النه قال فهبط في النه دي كمأ لبثأ عزه و جله يا عبأ رجه فقال للاه هه فأخأ قول على وجأ صي يا و هو معأ ار قال ما أحأم عل ه حتأ تي لوأ ل ما سألأتني به لطلأت هوانك و لكنه ت رب قال أما و عزه ته إله غفرأ ل بيأ د و أهأ د بحق محمه ألني عبأ ى نفأسي ل يسأ

م. ت لك الأيوأ نه و قدأ غفرأ ني و بيأ له ما كان بيأ

Heasws said: ‘So heas would descend into the Fire, and would be reasonable upon his face and extract him’. So Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic would Say: “O Myazwj servant!” How much did you remain adjuring Meazwj in the Fire?” He would say, ‘I cannot count, O Lordazwj’. Heazwj would Say: “But, by Myazwj Might! Had you not asked Meazwj with it, Iazwj would have Prolonged your shame. But, Iazwj have Determined upon Myselfazwj that a servant would not ask Meazwj by the right of Muhammadsaww and the Peopleasws of hissaww Household, except Iazwj would Forgive for him whatever (sins) would be between Meazwj and him, and Iazwj have Forgiven you today!”11

From Abu Ja’far Muhammadasws Bin Aliasws, from hisasws forefathersasws having said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Grab hold of a part of this filled-up one (with Wisdom and Knowledge)!’ meaning Aliasws, ‘For heasws is the great truthful ( بر كأ يق الأ د and the ,(الصdifferentiator between the truth and the falsehood. The one who loves this oneasws, Allahazwj would Guide him, and the one who stays behind from himasws, Allahazwj would Obliterate him.

ناي ن و هما ابأ تي الأحسن و الأحسيأ طا أمه ه سبأ خذوا و منأ همأ و ل تته مي فتولهوأ علأمي و فهأ طاهم للاه ة الأهدى أعأ ن أئمه و منأ الأحسيأه غضب منأ ربه للأ عليأ كمأ و منأ يحأ كمأ غضب منأ رب يا إله متاع الأغرور.و ما الأحيا فقدأ هوى وليجة منأ دونهمأ فيحله عليأ نأ ة الد

And from himasws are two grandsons of mysaww community, Al-Hassanasws and Al-Husaynasws, and theyasws are both mysaww sonsasws. And from Al-Husaynasws would be the Imamsasws of Guidance. Allahazwj would Give themasws mysaww knowledge and mysaww understanding. Therefore, befriend themasws and do not be taking a confidant from anyone besides themasws, for it would release upon you all the Wrath from your Lordazwj. And the one upon whom the Wrath from his Lordazwj is released, so he has collapsed. And what is the life of the world except for the pleasures of vanity?’’.12

فر الأباقر ع في حديث طويل يقول فيه تك و : عنأ أبي جعأ قضتأ نبوه د قد انأ ه قال له يا محمه رى بنبي ا أسأ تبارك و تعالى لمه إنه للاهوع لي م ت خلأقك فلمأ أجدأ أطأ دك فقلأت يا رب إني بلوأ تك منأ بعأ لك فمنأ لمه قطع أكأ ن أبي طالب نأ علي بأ انأ

From Abu Ja’far Al-Baqirasws, in a lengthy Hadeeth, saying in it: ‘When Allahazwj Blessed and High Ascended Hisazwj Prophetsaww, Said to himsaww: “O Muhammadsaww! Yousaww have spent yoursaww Prophet-hood and yoursaww consumption is (to be) cut, so who is for yoursaww community after yousaww?” So Isaww said: ‘O Lordazwj! Isaww examined Yourazwj creatures but Isaww could not find anyone more obedient to mesaww than Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws’.

عزه و جله و لي يا ت خلأقك فلمأ أجدأ أحدا أشده حب فقال للاه دك فقلأت يا رب إني قدأ بلوأ تك منأ بعأ د فمنأ لمه ن محمه ا لي منأ علي بأليائي ه راية الأهدى و إمام أوأ ه أنه لغأ د فأبأ و نور لمنأ أطاعني.أبي طالب فقال و لي يا محمه

So Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Said: “And (obedient) to Meazwj (as well), O Muhammadsaww! So who is for yoursaww community from after yousaww?’ So Isaww said: ‘O Lordazwj! Isaww have examined Yourazwj creatures, but Isaww could not find anyone more intensely loving to mesaww than Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws’. So Heazwj Said: “And (loving) to Meazwj (as well), O Muhammadsaww! Deliver to himasws that heasws is the Flag of Guidance and the Imamasws of Myazwj friends, and a light for the ones who obey Meazwj”’.13

From Karram Bin Umar Al Khash’amy, from Muhammad Bin Muslim who said,

د ع يقولن ن محمه فر بأ فر و جعأ ت أبا جعأ فاء في : إنه سمعأ ته و الش يه مامة في ذر له أنأ جعل الأ ن ع منأ قتأ ض الأحسيأ تعالى عوه للاهام زيارته جائيا و راجعا منأ عمره ره و ل تعد أيه د قبأ عاء عنأ بته و إجابة الد ترأ

I heard Abu Ja’farasws and Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws both saying: ‘Allahazwj the Exalted Compensated Al-Husaynasws from hisasws killing that Heazwj would Make the Imamate to be in hisasws offspring, and the healing to be in hisasws soil (of hisasws grave), and would Answer the supplication (made) at hisasws grave, and will not Count the days (spent) in performing hisasws Ziyarat (visitation), coming and going, to be from his life-span’’.

د للاه لم فقلأت لبي عبأ ن مسأ د بأ تعالى ألأحقه بالنهبي ص قال محمه سه قال إنه للاه ن ع فما له هو في نفأ فكان هذه الأخلل تنال بالأحسيأ معه في درجته

Muhammad Bin Muslim said, ‘So I said, to Abu Abdullahasws, ‘This is the entire duration spent with Al-Husaynasws, so what is for him regarding himself?’ Heasws said: ‘Allahazwj the Exalted would join him with the Prophetsaww, and he would be with himsaww in hissaww Level’.

د للاه همأ ثمه تل أبو عبأ بعتأ تهمأ و الهذين آمنوا و اته يه نا بهمأ ذر تهمأ بإيمان ألأحقأ يه ية. ذر الأ

Then Abu Abdullahasws recited [52:21] And (as for) those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith – the Verse’’.14

‘When Rasool-Allahsaww called the people after Ghadeer Khumm, hesaww ordered with (the sweeping) of the thorns which were beneath the tree, so hesaww stood, and that was on the day of Thursday. Hesaww called the people to Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws, and hesaww grabbed hisasws forearms and raised them both to the extent the people looked at the whiteness of hissaww armpits. So they did not disperse until this Verse was Revealed [5:3] This day have I Perfected for you your Religion and Completed My Favour on you and Chosen for you Islam as a Religion. Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Allahazwj is the Greatest, upon having Perfected the Religion and its completion, and the Exalted Lordazwj is (now) Pleased with Myazwj Messenger-ship and the Wilayah for Aliasws’’.15

From Anas Bin Malik,

(It has been narrated) from the Prophetsaww having said: ‘Weasws the Clan of Abdul Muttalibas, the chiefs of the inhabitants of the Paradise – Isaww, and Aliasws, and Ja’faras, and Al-Hassanasws, and Al-Husaynasws and Fatimaasws’’.16

So heasws said: ‘Myasws fatherasws has narrated to measws from hisasws grandfatherasws Al-Baqirasws, from Zayn Al-Abideenasws, from hisasws fatherasws, that a man came over to Amir Al-Momineenasws and he said, ‘Inform me about the Words of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic [1:2] The praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, what is its interpretation?’

قه و يحوطها بكن ذوها منأ رزأ رته و يغأ بلها في قدأ ا الأحيوانات فهو يقأ هاالأحيوانات أمه ر كل منأ لحته فه و يدب بمصأ

So heasws said: ‘The Praise is due to Allahazwj, it is that Hisazwj servants recognise some of Hisazwj bounties upon them from the total, when they are not able upon recognising the entirety of these in detail, because these are more than can be counted or recognised. So Heazwj Said: “Say, the Praise is for Allahazwj upon what the Lordazwj of the worlds has Favoured with, and they are the groups from every creation, from the inanimate objects and the animals. As for the animals, so Heazwj Applied it in Hisazwj Power and Provided these from Hisazwj sustenance and Encompassed these in Hisazwj Patronage, and Managed each of these by Hisazwj Administration.

س ا الأجمادات فيمأ ها أنأ يتلصق و يمأ و أمه سك الأمتهافت منأ ها أنأ يتهافت و يمأ سك الأمتهصل منأ رته يمأ ماء أنأ تقع كها بقدأ سك السهنه ض إله بإذأ رأ ه بعب على الأ ره إنه خسف إله بأمأ ض أنأ تنأ رأ سك الأ اده رءوف رحيم و يمأ

And as for the inanimate objects, so Heazwj Withheld these by Hisazwj Power, Withholding the linked ones of these from disintegrating, and Withholding the disintegrated ones of these in case they be integrated. And Heazwj Withheld the sky from falling upon the earth except by Hisazwj Permission, and Withheld the earth from submerging except by Hisazwj Command, Heazwj being Kind, Merciful with Hisazwj servants’.

سوم و هو قال ع و رب الأعالمين مالكهمأ و خالقهمأ و ق مقأ زأ لمون فالر ث ل يعأ لمون و منأ حيأ ث يعأ همأ منأ حيأ زاقهمأ إليأ سائق أرأس تقأوى متهق بزائده و ل فجور فاجر ب يا ليأ نأ ن آدم على أي سيرة سارها من الد ر و هو طالبه و لوأ أنه ناقصه و يأأتي ابأ نه ستأ بيأ

ت لبه الأموأ قه كما يطأ قه لطلبه رزأ أحدكمأ يفر منأ رزأ

Heasws said: ‘And the Lordazwj of the worlds is their Owner and their Creator, and the Provider of their sustenance to them from where they are knowing and from where they are not knowing. Thus, the sustenance is apportioned, and it would come to the son of Adamas upon whichever way he travels from the world. It isn’t increased by the piety of the pious nor reduced by the immorality of the immoral, and between it is a veil and his seeking it. And if one of you was to flee from his sustenance, his sustenance would seek him out just as the death seeks him out.

So Allahazwj, Majestic is Hisazwj Majesty Said: “Say, ‘The Praise is for Allahazwj upon what Heazwj has Favoured upon us with”’, and we were Reminded with it from goodness in the former Books from before we came into being. Thus, in this is the acceptation upon Muhammadsaww and the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww and upon theirasws Shias that they thank Himazwj due to what Heazwj has Graced them.

ران و ن عمأ عزه و جله موسى بأ ا بعث للاه ص قال لمه رائيل و ذلك أنه رسول للاه ر و نجا بني إسأ طفاه نجيا و فلق له الأبحأ اصأتني بك رمأ رأى مكانه منأ ربه عزه و جله فقال يا رب لقدأ أكأ لأوا راة و الأ طاه التهوأ جله أعأ رمأ بها أحد فقال للاه جلله يا رامة لمأ يكأ

دي منأ جميع ملئكتي و جميع خلأقي دا أفأضل عنأ ت أنه محمه موسى أ ما علمأ

And that is because Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘When Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Sent Musaas Bin Imranas and Chose himas for Rescuing and Split the sea for himas and Rescued the Children of Israel, and Gave himas the Torah and the Tablets, heas saw hisas position from hisas Lordazwj Mighty and Majestic and heas said: ‘O Lordazwj! Youazwj have Honoured meas with a such a Prestige Youazwj have not Honoured anyone (else) with it’. So Allahazwj, Majestic is Hisazwj Majesty Said: “O Musaas! But, do youas not know that Muhammadsaww is superior in Myazwj Presence than the entirety of Myazwj Angels and the entirety of Myazwj creatures?”

رم منأ آلي قا و قال بياء أكأ نأ دك منأ جميع خلأقك فهلأ في آل الأ رم عنأ د أكأ جله جلله يا موسى أ ما يا رب فإنأ كان محمه ل للاهل محمه بيين كفضأ د على جميع آل النه ل آل محمه ت أنه فضأ سلين علمأ د على جميع الأمرأ

And heas said: ‘O Lordazwj! So if Muhammadsaww was more prestigious in Yourazwj Presence than the entirety of Yourazwj creatures, so is there a progeny from the progenies of the Prophetsas more prestigious than myas progeny?’ Allahazwj, Majestic is Hisazwj Majesty Said: “O Musaas! But do youas not know that the superiority of the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww upon the entirety of the Prophetsas is like the superiority of Muhammadsaww upon the entirety of the Mursil Prophetsas?”

تي دك منأ أمه ضل عنأ بياء أفأ نأ د كذلك فهلأ في أمم الأ هم الأمنه فقال موسى يا رب فإنأ كان آل محمه زلأت عليأ هم الأغمام و أنأ ظلهلأت عليأر فقال ت لهم الأبحأ لأوى و فلقأ له على جميع خ و السه مم كفضأ د على جميع الأ ة محمه ل أمه ت أنه فضأ لأقيجله جلله يا موسى أ ما علمأ

So Musaas said: ‘O Lordazwj! So if the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww was like that, so is there a community among the communities of the Prophetsas more superior in Yourazwj Presence than myas community? Youazwj Shaded them with the clouds and Sent down upon them the Manna and the Quails, and Split the sea for them!’ So Heazwj, Majestic is Hisazwj Majesty Said: “O Musaas! But, do you not know that the superiority of the community of Muhammadsaww upon the entirety of the communities is like hissaww superiority upon the entirety of Myazwj creatures?”

جله جلل حى للاه ت أراهمأ فأوأ تني كنأ ف فقال موسى يا رب ليأ س هذا أوان ظهورهمأ و لكنأ سوأ ه يا موسى إنهك لنأ تراهمأ فليأ ه إليأرات د في نعيمها يتقلهبون و في خيأ رة محمه س بحضأ دوأ ن و الأفرأ ات عدأ حون أ فتحب تراهمأ في الأجنان جنه معك كلمهمأ ها يتبجه أنأ أسأ

So Musaas said: ‘O Lordazwj! If only Youazwj would let meas see them’. So Allahazwj, Majestic is Hisazwj Majesty Revealed unto himas: “O Musaas! Youas cannot see them (now), for this isn’t the time for their appearance. But, youas will soon be seeing them in

the Gardens, the Gardens of Eden and Al-Firdows in the presence of Muhammadsaww, turning in its pleasures and boasting among its resources. Would youas like to listen to their speeches?”

ليل بيأ د الذه زرك قيام الأعبأ ددأ مئأ ن يديه و اشأ جله جلله قمأ بيأ ن يدي الأملك الأجليل قال نعمأ إلهي قال للاه

Heas said: ‘Yes, myas Godazwj!’ Allahazwj, Majestic is Hisazwj Majesty, Said: “Stand in front of Meazwj and straighten youras clothes, the standing of a humiliated slave in front of Meazwj, the Majestic King!”

لب د فأجابوه كلهمأ و همأ في أصأ ة محمه نا جله جلله يا أمه هاتهمأ آبائهمأ و أرأ ففعل ذلك موسى ع فنادى رب ك حام أمه يأ ك اللههمه لبه يأ لبهمة لك و الأملأك ل شريك لك د و النعأ ك الأحمأ يأ ك ل شريك لك لبه يأ لبه

So Musaas did that, and our Lordazwj, Majestic is Hisazwj Majesty Called out: “O community of Muhammad!” So they answered Himazwj, all of them, and they were in the loins of their fathers and the wombs of their mothers, ‘At Yourazwj sevice O Allahazwj, at Yourazwj service! There is no associate for Youazwj. At Yourazwj service! The Praise, and the Bounties are for Youazwj, and the Kingdom. There is no associate for Youazwj!’ (Talbiyyah).

ة م نا عزه و جله يا أمه جابة شعار الأحج ثمه نادى رب عزه و جله تلأك الأ متي سبقتأ قال فجعل للاه كمأ أنه رحأ د إنه قضاي عليأ حمه

ل أنأ تسأ تكمأ منأ قبأ طيأ عوني و أعأ ل أنأ تدأ ت لكمأ منأ قبأ تجبأ ل عقابي قد اسأ ألونيغضبي و عفأوي قبأ

Heasws said: ‘So Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Made that to be the answering slogan for the Hajj. Then our Lordazwj Mighty and Majestic Called out: “O community of Muhammadsaww! Myazwj Judgment upon you all is that Myazwj Mercy shall precede Myazwj Wrath, and Myazwj Pardon would be before Myazwj Punishment. Iazwj would Answer for you from before you supplicate to Meazwj and would Give you from before you ask Meazwj.

ده و دا عبأ ده ل شريك له و أنه محمه وحأ كمأ بشهادة أنأ ل إله إله للاه عاله و أنه منأ لقيني منأ واله و محق في أفأ رسوله صادق في أقأده ه منأ بعأ ن أبي طالب أخوه و وصي ن الأمطههرين عليه بأ طفيأ لياءه الأمصأ د و أنه أوأ ه و يلأتزم طاعته كما يلأتزم طاعة محمه و ولي

خله جنهتي و إ ليائي أدأ دهما أوأ منأ بعأ و دلئل حجج للاه ر نأ الأمبلغين بعجائب آيات للاه ل زبد الأبحأ كانتأ ذنوبه مثأ

The one from you who meets Meazwj with the testimony that there is no god except Allahazwj Alone, there being no associates for Himazwj, and that Muhammadsaww is Hisazwj servant and Hisazwj Rasoolsaww, being truthful in his words, and right in his deeds, and that Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws is hissaww brother and hissaww successorasws from after himsaww, and hissaww Guardian, and necessitates hisasws obedience just as he necessitates the obedience of Muhammadsaww, and that hissaww Guardiansasws are the Chosen ones, the Purified ones, the deliverers of the wonders of the Verses of Allahazwj and the evidences, are the Divine Authorities of Allahazwj from after the two of themasws, would be Myazwj friends. Iazwj Shall Enter him (the one who loves themasws) into Myazwj Paradise, and even if his sins were like the foam of the sea (countless)”’.

Heasws said: ‘So when Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Sent our Prophetsaww Muhammadsaww, Heazwj Said: “O Muhammadsaww! [28:46] And you were not on the side of the Toor when We Called out to Yourazwj community with this prestige!” Then the Mighty and Majestic Said to Muhammadsaww: “Say: ‘The Praise is for Allahazwj, Lordazwj of the worlds, upon what Heazwj Specialised mesaww with from these merits’”. And hesaww said to hissaww community: ‘You all should be saying, ‘The Praise is for Allahazwj upon what Heazwj Specialised us with from these merits’’.17

ته يقول ع قال سمعأ د للاه ه؟ قال نعمأ ق عنأ أبي عبأ د أ تحب رئيل فقال يا محمه ص إذأ أتاه جبأ د رسول للاه ن ع عنأ نا الأحسيأ ال أما : بيأ ص لذل تله قال فحزن رسول للاه تك ستقأ تل فيها إنه أمه بة الهتي يقأ ك أنأ أريك الترأ رئيل أ يسر نا شديدا فقال جبأ ك حزأ

From Abu Abdullahasws. I heard himasws saying: ‘While Al-Husaynasws was in the presence of Rasool-Allahsaww, Jibraeelas came to himsaww and heas said: ‘O Muhammadsaww! Do yousaww love himasws?’ Hesaww said: ‘Yes’. Heas said: ‘But, yoursaww community would be killing himasws’. So Rasool-Allahsaww grieved due to that with an intense grief, so Jibraeelsaww said: ‘Would it cheer yousaww if Ias was to show yousaww the soil in which heasws would be killed?’

So Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Beatitude is for you from the (other) soils, and beatitude is for the oneasws who would be killed in youasws’’.18

The soil of Al-Husaynasws is a healing from the illnesses, and the

supplication which is to be recited during taking it.

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Al Hassan Bin Ali Bin Abu Al Mugheira, from al Hars Bin al Mugheira Al Nasry who said,

ت ب ت دواء إله تداويأ راض و ما تركأ مأ ع إني رجل كثير الأعلل و الأ د للاه ت منأ طين ه فماقلأت لبي عبأ ن أنأ ت به فقال لي أيأ تفعأ انأته فق ف فإذا أخذأ نا منأ كل خوأ ن علي ع فإنه فيه شفاء منأ كل داء و أمأ ن بأ ر الأحسيأ لأ هذا الأكلم قبأ

‘I said to Abu Abdullahasws, ‘I am a man with a lot of illnesses and the diseases, and I have not left any medicine except I have sought a cure with it, but I have not benefitted with it. So heasws said to me: ‘Where are you from the clay of the grave of Al-Husaynasws Bin Aliasws, for therein is a healing from every illness and a security from every fear. So when you do take it, say this speech,

بي الهذي ينة و بحق الأملك الهذي أخذها و بحق النه ألك بحق هذه الط بحق الأوصي الهذي حله فيها صل على قبضها و اللههمه إني أسأعلأ بي كذا و كذا ته و افأ ل بيأ د و أهأ محمه

‘O Allahazwj! I ask Youazwj by the right of this clay, and the by the right of the Angel who looks after it (guards it/extracts it), and by the right of the Prophetsaww who held it, and by the right of the successorasws who resides in it, Send Blessings upon Muhammadsaww and the Peopleasws of hissaww Household, and do such and such for me’.

ا الأملك أمه د للاه د قال ثمه قال أبو عبأ تك منأ بعأ تله أمه ن تقأ بة حسيأ رئيل و أراها النهبيه ص قال هذه ترأ ك و الهذي الهذي قبضها فهو جبأهداء ن ع و الش ا الهذي حله فيها فهو الأحسيأ و أمه د رسول للاه قبضها فهو محمه

He (the narrator) said, ‘Then Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘As for the Angel who grabbed it, so he is Jibraeelas, and heas showed it to the Prophetsaww saying, ‘This is the soil of Al-Husaynasws. Yoursaww community would kill himasws from after yousaww. And the one who grabbed it, so hesaww is Muhammadsaww Rasool-Allahsaww, and as for the ones who would reside in it, so heasws is Al-Husaynasws and the martyrs’.

ف فقال إذا خفأت س ن منأ كل خوأ مأ ف الأ فاء منأ كل داء فكيأ ت جعلأت فداك الش رجنه منأ قلأت قدأ عرفأ ر سلأطان فل تخأ لأطانا أوأ غيأن فتقول ر الأحسيأ زلك إله و معك منأ طين قبأ منأ

I said, ‘May I be sacrificed for youasws! I have understood the healing from every illness, but how is it the security from every fear?’ So heasws said: ‘Whenever you fear a ruling authority or other than a ruling authority, then do not exit from your house except and with you is from the clay of the grave of Al-Husaynasws, and you should be saying,

زا لما أخاف و م نا و حرأ علأه لي أمأ ن وليك و اجأ ر وليك و ابأ ته منأ قبأ ه قدأ يرد ما اللههمه إني أخذأ تخاف ا ل أخاف فإنه

‘O Allahazwj! I took it from the grave of Yourazwj Guardianasws, and sonasws of Yourazwj Guardianasws, and Make it to be a security for me and a protection from what I fear and what I do not fear’, and it would repel what you fear’’.

مي و كان لي أمانا منأ كل ما قال الأحرأ ت كما أمرني و قلأت ما قال لي فصحه جسأ ن الأمغيرة فأخذأ ت و ما لمأ أخفأ كما ث بأ خفأذور روها و ل محأ مكأ د للاه ت مع ذلك بحمأ ع فما رأيأ د للاه ا.قال أبو عبأ

Al-Hars Bin Al-Mugheira said, ‘So I took just as heasws had instructed me and I said what heasws told me to, and my body became healthy and there was security for me from everything which I feared and what I did not fear just as Abu Abdullahasws had said. So I did not see along with that, by the Praise of Allahazwj, neither any abhorrence nor any danger’’.19

‘I went over to Rasool-Allahsaww, and in hissaww hand was a ring, the stone of which was carnelian. So I said, ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! What is this stone?’ So hesaww said to me: ‘This is from a mountain which acknowledged to Allahazwj with the Lordship, and to mesaww with the Prophet-hood, and to Aliasws with the Wilayah, and to hisasws sonsasws with the Imamate, and to hisasws Shias with the Paradise’’.20

‘Abu Al-Hassanasws the 1st (7th Imamasws) said: ‘Do you know of anyone from the people of Al-Maghreb who has come over?’ I said, ‘No’. Heasws said: ‘Yes, a man has come over, so come with usasws’. So heasws rode and we rods with himasws until heasws ended up to the man, and there was (another) man from the people of Al-Maghreb with him, thin. So heasws said to him: ‘Display to us’. So he displayed to us some girls, and for each of that Abu Al-Hassanasws was saying: ‘There is no need for measws with regards to her’.

دي شيأ نا قال ما عنأ رضأ عليأ ك أنأ ثمه قال اعأ دي إله جارية مريضة فقال له ما عليأ ما عنأ نا قال ل و للاه رضأ عليأ ء فقال بلى اعأرضها صرف تعأ ه ثمه انأ فأبى عليأ

Then heasws said: ‘Display (more) to usasws!’ He said, ‘There is nothing (else) with me’. So heasws said: ‘Display to us’. He said, ‘No, by Allahazwj! There is nothing with me except for a sick slave girl’. Heasws said to him: ‘What would be against you if you were to display her?’ But he refused upon it. Then heasws left.

ه فقال لي قلأ له كمأ غايتك فيها فإذا قال كذا و كذا فق سلني من الأغد إليأ ه أرأ تها فأتيأ ثمه إنه جل لأ قدأ أخذأ ته فقال هي لك و لكنأ من الرهدي أ س؟ فقلأت رجل منأ بني هاشم فقال منأ أي بني هاشم؟ فقلأت ما عنأ مأ ثر منأ هذاالهذي كان معك بالأ كأ

Then heasws sent for me in the morning to go to himasws, and heasws said to me: ‘Say to him, ‘How much is the maximum regarding her?’ So when he says ‘Such and such’, so say, ‘I have taken her’’. So I went to him and he said, ‘She is for you, but, who was the man who was with you yesterday?’ I said, ‘A man from the Clan of Hashimas’. So he said, ‘From which Clan of Hashimas?’ I said, ‘There is nothing more with me than this’.

رأة ني امأ رب فلقيتأ تها منأ أقأصى الأمغأ تريأ برك عنأ هذه الأوصيفة إني اشأ ل الأكتاب فق فقال أخأ التأ ما هذه الأوصيفة معك فقلأت منأ أهأبغي أنأ لك إنه هذه الأجارية ينأ د مثأ بغي أنأ تكون هذه عنأ تها لنفأسي فقالتأ ما ينأ تريأ ده اشأ ض فل تلأبث عنأ رأ ل الأ ر أهأ د خيأ تكون عنأ

بها إله قليل حته ض و غرأ رأ ق الأ ى تلد له غلما يدين له شرأ

So he said, ‘I shall inform you about this maid. I bought her from an outskirt of Al-Maghreb, and a woman from the People of the Book met me and she said, ‘Who is this maid with you?’ I said, ‘I bought her for myself’. She said, ‘It is not befitting that this one should be with the likes of you. It is befitting that this maid should happen to be with the best of the people of the earth, and she will not remain with himasws except for a little while until she would be blessed with a boy for himasws. There would yield to himasws the east of the earth and the west of it’.

He (the narrator) said, ‘So I came with her to himasws, and she did not stay with himasws except for a little while until sheasws was blessed with Aliasws (8th Imamasws)’.21

The sect of the Jews and the Christians, and the sect which would

love Aliasws.

ع قال الأمجاشعي و ح د للاه ثنا أبو عبأ د قال: حده ن محمه فر بأ ن جعأ د بأ ثنا محمه ضا ع عنأ أبيه موسى عنأ أبيه أبي قال: حده ثنا الر دهفر عنأ آبائه ع جعأ د للاه قة فقال عبأ ؟ فقال على كذا و كذا فرأ تمأ ترقأ ت عليا يقول لرأأس الأيهود على كمأ افأ ت قال: سمعأ علي ع كذبأ

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Muhammad, son of Ja’far Bin Muhammadasws saying, ‘Abu Abdullahasws narrated to us. Al-Mujashy said, ‘And it was narrated to us by Al-Rezaasws, from hisasws fatherasws Musaasws, from hisasws fatherasws Abu Abdullah Ja’farasws, from hisasws forefathersasws saying: ‘Iasws heard Aliasws saying to the Chief of the Jews: ‘Upon how many sect would you be segmenting?’ So he said, ‘Upon such and such (number of) sects’. Aliasws said: ‘You are lying’.

Then Aliasws faced towards the people and heasws said: ‘By Allahazwj! If the platform was to be set up for measws, Iasws would judge between the people of the Torah by their Torah, and between the people of the Evangel, by their Evangel, and between the people of the Quran by their Quran! The Jews would be separating upon seventy one sect, seventy of these would be in the Fire and one would attain salvation and be in the Paradise and it is (the sect) which followed Yoshua Bin Noonas, the successoras of Musaas.

And the Christians would be separating upon seventy two sects, seventy one sects would be in the Fire and one would be in the Paradise, and it is which followed Shamounas, successoras of Isaas.

And this community would be separating upon seventy-three sects, seventy-two would be in the Fire and one would be in the Paradise, and it is which followed the successorasws of Muhammadsaww’ – and heasws struck by hisasws hand upon hisasws own

chest, then said: ‘Thirteen sects from the seventy-three sects, all of these would be arrogating myasws cordiality and myasws love, one of these would be in the Paradise, and they are the middle category (neither exaggerators nor derogators), and twelve would be in the Fire’’.22

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Aswad Bin Aamir, from Shareyk, from Mansour, from Rabi’e,

قال ل قال ل قال عمر أنا هو يا رسول للاه ر أنا هو يا رسول للاه ه خاصف رقابكمأ قال أبو بكأ طى عليا و لكنه ل و كان قدأ أعأ النهعأصفه. له يخأ نعأ

From Aliasws, from the Prophetsaww having said: ‘O group of Qureysh! Allahazwj would be Sending a man from you upon you, whose heart Allahazwj would have Tested for the Eman, so he will be striking you all or striking off your necks’. Abu Bakr said, ‘I am him, O Rasool-Allahsaww?’ Hesaww said: ‘No’. Umar said, ‘I am him, O Rasool-Allahsaww?’ Hesaww said: ‘No. But (it would be) the repairer of the slipper’. And it was so that Aliasws had come over with hissaww slipper, having repaired it’’.23

]عشر خصال كانت لعلي )ع(.[

Ten characteristics which were (exclusively) for Aliasws.

Zayd, son of Aliasws (Bin Al-Husaynasws), from hisasws grandfatherasws, from Aliasws having said: ‘Iasws heard Rasool-Allahsaww saying ten characteristics each one of which are more beloved to measws than what the sun emerges upon. Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘O Aliasws! Isaww am yourasws brother in the world and the Hereafter; and youasws would be the closest of the creatures to mesaww on the Day of Judgment during the pausing.

ت جله جلله و أنأ وان في للاه خأزل الأ ة كما يواجه منأ زلك في الأجنه زلي مواجه منأ لي و وزيريو منأ و وصيي و الأخليفة في أهأ

ت صاحب ل لمين و أنأ ي عدو في الأمسأ ي و عدو ك عدو و عدو خرة و وليك وليي و وليي ولي للاه يا و الأ نأ .وائي في الد للاه

And mysaww house would be facing yourasws house in the Paradise just as the houses of the brothers for the Sake of Allahazwj, Majestic is Hisazwj Majesty, tend to face; and youasws are mysaww Vizier and mysaww successorasws, and the Caliph among mysaww family and among the Muslims; and youasws are the bearer of mysaww flag in the world and the Hereafter; and yourasws friend is mysaww friend, and mysaww friend is the friend of Allahazwj, and yourasws enemy is mysaww enemy, and mysaww enemy is the enemy of Allahazwj’’.24

From Abu Ja’farasws having said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Allahazwj the Exalted Said: “Iazwj shall Punish every citizen in Al-Islam obeying a tyrannous imam who isn’t from Allahazwj, and even if the citizen was righteous in his deeds, pious; and Isaww shall Forgive every citizen in Al-Islam obeying an Imamasws of Guidance from Allahasws and even if the citizen was, in his deeds, unjust, a sinner’.25

ن أسامة د بأ صاري عنأ زيأ نأ اد الأ ن حمه بأ د للاه ثنا عبأ قال:قال: حده

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Abdullah Bin Hammad Al Ansary, from Zayd Bin Asama who said,

ع فقال د للاه نا أبو عبأ بل عليأ ادق ع فأقأ دنا الصه رة سي ت في جماعة منأ عصابتنا بحضأ ن ع كنأ ي الأحسيأ بة جد تعالى جعل ترأ إنه للاهف فإذ ها على سائر جسده و شفاء منأ كل داء و أمانا منأ كل سوء و خوأ ه و لأيمره نيأ ها على عيأ لأها و لأيضعأ ا تناولها أحدكمأ فلأيقب

لأيقلأ

I was in a group from our tribe in the presence of our Master Al-Sadiqasws. Abu Abdullahasws turned to face us and heasws said: ‘Allahazwj the Exalted Made the soil of myasws grandfatherasws Al-Husaynasws as a healing from every illness and a security from every evil and fear. So when one of you takes it, then let him kiss it and place it upon his eyes, and let him rub it upon the rest of his body, and let him say -

ه و أخيه و بة و بحق منأ حله بها و ثوى فيها و بحق أبيه و أم ة منأ ولأده و بحق الأملئكة الأحافين به اللههمه بحق هذه الترأ ئمه الأذر ها شفاء منأ كل داء و إله جعلأت ا أخاف و أحأ زا ممه ءا منأ كل مرض و نجاة منأ كل آفة و حرأ ملأهابرأ تعأ ثمه لأيسأ

‘O Allahazwj! By the right of this soil, and by the right of the oneasws who resides in it and passed away in it, and by the right of hisasws fatherasws and hisasws motherasws, and hisasws brotherasws, and the Imamsasws from hisasws sonsasws, and by the right of the Angels surrounding himasws, Make it to be a healing from every illness, and a cure from every disease, and a rescue from every calamity, and a protection from what I fear and am cautious of’. Then let him utilise it’.

ت فما رأيأ د للاه ول كما قال و وصف أبو عبأ طأ ري الأ ملأتها منأ دهأ تعأ د قال أسامة فأنا اسأ روها بحمأ مكأ للاه

Asama said, ‘So I used it from my lifetime just Abu Abdullahasws said and described, and I did not see, by the Praise of Allahazwj, any (matter of) abhorrence’.26

From Muhammad son of Ja’farasws, from his grandfatherasws having said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww missed Aliasws, so hesaww was sad due to that with an intense sadness. So

when Khadeejaas saw that, sheas said: ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! Ias shall get to know of hisasws news for yousaww’.

فإذا بعلي قدأ جاء فتعانقاعلي

So sheas got up to heras camel and sheas rode, and caught up with Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws. Sheas said to himasws: ‘Ride, for Rasool-Allahsaww is sad (in yourasws absence)’. Heasws said: ‘Iasws will not be sitting in a seat of a wife of the Prophetsaww. But Iasws shall go (walking), therefore inform Rasool-Allahsaww’. Khadeejaas said: ‘So Ias went and informed Rasool-Allahsaww, and hesaww was standing, saying: ‘O Allahazwj! Relieve mysaww worries with mysaww brother Aliasws’. So (suddenly) there was Aliasws, having had come. So theyasws hugged’.

قائما لس إذا كان رسول للاه دامي.قالتأ خديجة و لمأ أكنأ أجأ ن حتهى ضربتأ عليه أقأ ترقا متعانقيأ فما افأ

Khadeejaas said: ‘And Ias never happened to be seated when Rasool-Allahsaww was standing (out of respect). So theyasws did not separate from hugging until (pain) struck myas feet (due to the prolonged greetings)’’.27

‘I heard a group from the people of Al-Medina saying, ‘Al-Reza Aliasws Bin Musaasws was Blessed at Al-medina, on the day of Thursday of the twentieth night of Rabbi Al-Awwal of the year one hundred and fifty three from the Hijra, after the passing away of Abu Abdullahasws by five years. And heasws passed away in Toos in a town called Sanabaad, from Rustaq Nuqan, and was buried in the house of Humeyd Bin Qahtabat Al-Tai’y in the dome in which was the grave of Haroun Al-Rashid, to his side from what follows the Qiblah.

And that was during the Month of Ramazan, nine (days) remaining from it, on the day of Friday of the year two hundred and three, and hisasws age was completed at forty nine years and six months. From these, with hisasws fatherasws Musaasws Bin Ja’farasws were twenty nine years and two months, and after hisasws fatherasws, the days of the Imamate were twenty years and four months. And heasws stood with the command and for himasws were twenty-nine years and two months.

ن و كان في مين و ابأ روف بالأ د الأمعأ شيد محمه د الره شيد ثمه ملك بعأ ة ملأك الره ام إمامته بقيه رين أيه سة و عشأ دة ثلثة سنين و خمأ زبيأل ن شكأ راهيم بأ ه إبأ لس عم مين و أجأ ما ثمه خلع الأ س و بويع له ثانية و يوأ دة من الأحبأ ن زبيأ د بأ رج محمه ما ثمه أخأ بعة عشر يوأ ة أرأ

ما هر و ثلثة عشر يوأ ة أشأ جلس في الأملأك سنة و سته

And it was in the remaining days of hisasws Imamate was the kingdom of Al-Rasheed, then the king after Al-Rasheed was Muhammad, well known as Al-Ameen, and Ibn Zubeyda for three years and twenty five days. Then Al-Ameen vacated and his uncle Ibrahim Bin Shakla sat for fourteen days. Then Muhammad Bin Zubeyda came out from the prison and he pledged allegiance to him for the second time, and sat in the kingdom for a year and six months and thirteen days.

عة لعل ما فأخذ الأبيأ رين يوأ رين سنة و ثلثة و عشأ الأمأأمون عشأ د للاه ر ثمه ملك عبأ لمين منأ غيأ د الأمسأ ضا ع بعهأ ن موسى الر ي بأه رى في كلها يأأبى عليأ د أخأ ة بعأ ه مره ل و ألحه عليأ ده بالأقتأ د أنأ تهده رضاه و ذلك بعأ

Then the king was Abdullah Al-Mamoun for twenty years and twenty three days. So he took the allegiance of Aliasws Bin Musa Al-Rezaasws with the agreement of the Muslims from without hisasws agreement, and that was after he had restricted himasws with the killing and the death threats time after time, during each of which heasws refused upon him.

يه على الأهلك فقال ع: رف منأ تأب د للاه أشأ ت منأ قبل عبأ رفأ لكة و قدأ أشأ لأقاء بيدي إلى التههأتني عن الأ الأمأأمون اللههمه إنهك قدأ نهيأ

طره يوسف و ت كما اضأ طررأ ت و اضأ رهأ ده و قدأ أكأ بلأ ولية عهأ ل متى لمأ أقأ هما الأولية على الأقتأ دانيال ع إذأ قبل كل واحد منأ منأ طاغية زمانه

Facing death from hisasws refusal, heasws said: ‘O Allahazwj! Youazwj have Forbidden measws to cast myasws hand to the destruction, and Iasws am faced from Abdullah Al-Mamoun determined upon the killing when Iasws do not accept the mandate of his reign, and he has compelled, and Iasws am desperate as was the desperation of Yusufas and Danielas, when each one of themas faced the mandate from the tyrant of hisas era.

ياء ني لقامة دينك و إحأ دك و ل ولية لي إله منأ قبلك فوفقأ د إله عهأ م اللههمه ل عهأ لى و النهصير و نعأ ت الأموأ ك فإنهك أنأ ة نبي سنهلى م النهصير. الأموأ و نعأ

O Allahazwj! There is no Rule except for Yourazwj Rule nor is there a mandate to measws except from Youazwj, therefore Harmonise measws for establishment of Yourazwj Religion

and revival of the Sunnah of Yourazwj Prophetsaww, for Youazwj, Youazwj are the Masterazwj and the Persistent Helper, and the best Master and the best Helper’.

زل أحدا د من الأمأأمون و هو باك حزين على أنأ ل يولي أحدا و ل يعأ ة و أنأ يكون في قبل ع ولية الأعهأ ما و ل سنه ر اسأ و ل يغير مشيرا مأ همأ و الأعام الأ عة على النهاس الأخاص منأ منأ بعيد فأخذ الأمأأمون له الأبيأ

Then heasws accepted the mandate of the reign of Al-Mamoun, and heasws was crying, grieving, upon a stipulation that heasws would neither appoint anyone, nor dismiss anyone, nor change a name, nor a way, and if there happens to be an indication from afar, so Al-Mamoun would take the allegiance for himasws upon the people, the special ones from them and the general.

ه ثمه فك بير حسده على ذلك و حقد عليأ ن تدأ ل و علأم و حسأ ضا فضأ ره فغدر به ان متى ما ظهر للأمأأمون من الر حتهى ضاق صدأ و كرامته. وان للاه م و مضى إلى رضأ فقتله بالسه

Then it so happened that when it became apparent to Al-Mamoun from Al-Rezaasws, the merits, and the knowledge, and the excellent management, he envied himasws upon that and had malice upon himasws, to the extent that his chest was constricted. So he was treacherous with himasws and killed himasws with the poison, and heasws passed away to the Pleasure of Allahazwj and Hisazwj Prestige’’.28

الم سلوني عن كتاب هللاه إلخ.[ ]قول علي عليه السه

The words of Aliasws: ‘Ask measws abou the Book of Allahazwj’, etc..

ثنا ناه اقال: حده ثأ قال الأمجاشعي و حده د للاه ثنا أبي أبو عبأ د ع قال: حده ن محمه فر بأ ن جعأ د بأ ن موسى عنأ أبيه محمه ضا علي بأ لرفر جعأ د للاه ما نزلتأ آية منأ كتاب موسى عنأ أبيه أبي عبأ فو للاه د عنأ آبائه عنأ علي ع قال: سلوني عنأ كتاب للاه ن محمه بأ للاه

و ع رأنيها رسول للاه ل و ل نهار و ل مسير و ل مقام إله و قدأ أقأ لهمني تأأويله عزه و جله في ليأ

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Muhammadasws, son of Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws saying: ‘It was narrated to us by my fatherasws Abdullahasws’. Al-Mujashi’e said, ‘It was narrated to us by Al-Reza Aliasws Bin Musaasws, from hisasws fatherasws Musa, from hisasws father Abu Abdullah Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws, from hisasws forefathersasws, from Aliasws having said: ‘Ask measws about the Book of Allahazwj, for by Allahazwj, there was not Revealed a Verse from the Book of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic, during a night nor a day, nor during travelling nor staying, except that Rasool-Allahsaww read it out to measws and let measws know of its interpretation’.

منين فما كان ينأ اء فقال يا أمير الأمؤأ ن الأكوه ص ما فقام ابأ فظ عليه رسول للاه ه فقال كان يحأ ت غائب عنأ آن و أنأ ه من الأقرأ زل عليأرأنيه و يقول لي يا ع ه فيقأ دم عليأ ه غائب حتهى أقأ آن و أنا عنأ ه من الأقرأ زل عليأ كان ينأ زل للاه دك كذا و كذا و تأأويله لي أنأ عليه بعأ

زيله و تأأويله. كذا و كذا فيعلمني تنأ

So Ibn Al-Kawwa stood up and he said, ‘O Amir Al-Momineenasws! So what (about that which) was Revealed upon himsaww from the Quran and youasws were absent from it?’ So

heasws said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww would preserve it upon measws whatever had been Revealed upon himsaww from the Quran while Iasws was absent from himsaww, until Iasws would proceed to himsaww, so hesaww would read it out to measws and hesaww would be saying to measws: ‘O Aliasws! Allahazwj Revealed unto mesaww such and such after youasws, and its interpretation is such and such’. So hesaww would let measws know of its Revelation and its interpretation’’.29

Futrus, the emancipated one of Al-Husaynasws.

ن هشام قال: بأ د للاه ثنا عبأ قال: حده

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Abdullah Bin Hisham who said,

د عنأ أبيه ن محمه فر بأ ن جعأ ن موسى بأ ثنا أبو الأحسن علي بأ ه عنأ آبائه ع عن النهبي ص قال: كان ملك الأكروبيين يقال حده عنأ جدطأ فكسر جناحه فألأقا سله برسالة فأبأ عزه و جله بمكان فأرأ رس و كان من للاه ر له فطأ ن ه بجزيرة منأ جزائر الأبحأ ا ولد الأحسيأ فلمه

ص بم ئون رسول للاه رئيل في ألأف من الأملئكة يهن عزه و جله جبأ سل للاه ن علي ع أرأ ه عزه بأ برونه بكرامته على رب لود و يخأ وأ و جله

It was narrated to us by Abu Al-Hassan Ali Bin Musa Bin Ja’far Bin Muhammadasws, from hisasws fatherasws, from hisasws grandfatherasws, from hisasws forefathersasws, from the Prophetsaww having said: ‘There was an Angel of Proximity called Futrus, and he was, from Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic, with a (high) position. Heazwj Sent him with a Message, but he was delayed, and his wings broke up. So he was cast in an island from the islands of the seas. So when Al-Husaynasws Bin Aliasws came (to the world), Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Sent Jibraeelas among a thousand from the Angels to congratulate Rasool-Allahsaww of the Blessed (coming to the world of Husaynasws), and inform himsaww of hisasws prestige to hisasws Lordazwj Mighty and Majestic.

رئيل ب ن تريد؟ قال إنه هذا فمره جبأ مين أيأ الأ للاه رس يا رو نهما خلهة فقال فطأ عزه و ذلك الأملك فكان بيأ هاميه وهب للاه بيه الته النهض فأ رأ ل الأ ماوات و أهأ ل السه شر به أهأ تبأ ه عزه و جله جله له ولدا اسأ بره بكرامته على رب ئه و أخأ ه أهن تعالى إليأ سلني للاه رأ

So Jibraeel passed by that Angel, and there was an isolation between the two. So Futrus said, ‘O Spirit of Allahazwj, the trustworthy, where are you intending (to go to)?’ Heas said: ‘(To) this Prophetsaww for the congratulating. Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic has Granted a son to himsaww. The inhabitants of the skies and the inhabitants of the earth are celebrating with it. So Allahazwj the Exalted Sent meas to himasws to congratulate himsaww and inform himsaww of hisasws prestige to hisasws Lordazwj Mighty and Majestic’.

طلق الأمل ه سخي جواد فانأ ه فإنه د رب فع لي عنأ ه يشأ طلق بي معك إليأ رئيل ع ك مع قال هلأ لك أنأ تنأ جبأ

He (Futrus) said, ‘Is there (Permission) for youas that youas let me go with youas to himsaww so hesaww can interceded for me in the Presence of hissaww Lordazwj, for hesaww is generous, benevolent’. So the Angel went with Jibraeelas.

سله برسا تعالى مكان فأرأ ين كان له من للاه طأ فكسر جناحه و ألأقاه بجزيرة منأ فقال إنه هذا ملك من الأملئكة الأكروبي لة فأبأد ربك فع له عنأ ر و قدأ أتاك لتشأ جزائر الأبحأ

So he Jibraeelas said: ‘This Angel is from the Angels who were distressed. There was for him, from Allahazwj the Exalted, a (high) position. So Heazwj Sent him with a Message, and he was delayed, so his wings broke up, and he was thrown in an island from the islands of the sea, and he has come to yousaww in order for yousaww to intercede for him in the Presence of yoursaww Lordazwj’.

ألك بحق كل ذي حق ن و دعا في آخرهنه اللههمه إني أسأ عتيأ ته أنأ ترده قال فقام النهبي ص فصلهى ركأ ل بيأ د و أهأ ك و بحق محمه عليأعله آية للأعالمين تجيب لنبيك و تجأ رس جناحه و تسأ على فطأ

Heasws said: ‘So the Prophetsaww stood and prayed two Cycles of Salat and supplicated during the last of these two: ‘O Allahazwj! Isaww ask Youazwj by the right of every one with a right upon Youazwj, and by the right of Muhammadsaww and the Peopleasws of hissaww Household, that Youazwj Return upon Futrus, his wings, and Youazwj Answer (the supplication) of Yourazwj Prophetsaww, and Make it to be a Sign for the worlds’.

رس أنأ يمره جناحه على الأحسيأ ه أنأ يأأمر فطأ حى إليأ تعالى لنبيه ص و أوأ تجاب للاه ل فاسأ ررأ ن ع فقال رسول للاه رس أمأ فطأ الهذي منه د لله بح صحيحا فقال الأحمأ ح فأصأ لود ففعل فسبه جناحك الأكسير على هذا الأموأ عليه بك يا رسول للاه

So Allahazwj the Exalted Answered to Hisazwj Prophetsaww and Revealed unto himsaww that hesaww orders Futrus that he wipes his wings upon Al-Husaynasws. So Rasool-Allahsaww said to Futrus: ‘Wipe your broken wings upon this infant’. So he did it, and Glorified, and he became healthy (repaired). So he said, ‘The Praise is for Allahazwj Who Favoured upon me with yousaww, O Rasool-Allahsaww!’

ن تريد رس أيأ بي لفطأ علني خليفة ه -فقال النه لود و إني سألأت ربي أنأ يجأ رع هذا الأموأ برني بمصأ رئيل أخأ ناك ؟ فقال إنه جبأ

So the Prophetsaww said to Futrus: ‘Where are you intending (to go to)?’ So he said, ‘Jibraeelas informed me of the killing of this infant, and I asked my Lordazwj that Heazwj Makes me a Caliph over (Angels) there’.

ل ن ع قال فذلك الأملك موكه ر الأحسيأ طلق ذلك الأمل بقبأ ف و لسانه انأ ن أوأ تولهى أباه أوأ نصره بسيأ د على الأحسيأ م عبأ ك إلى فإذا ترحهن فلن ببلد كذا و كذا يتوله ة فلن بأ كيه فأس الزه ها النه ص فيقول أي ر رسول للاه ن و يتولهى أباه و نصره بلسانه و قلأبه و قبأ ى الأحسيأ

فه سيأ

Heasws said: ‘So that is the Angel Allocated with the grave of Al-Husaynasws. So when a servant is compassionate upon Al-Husaynasws, or befriends hisasws fatherasws, or helps himasws with his sword or his tongue, that Angel goes to the grave of Rasool-Allahsaww and he is saying, ‘O you pure soul! So and so, son of so and so, in such and such a city

is befriending Al-Husaynasws and is befriending hisasws fatherasws, and helps himasws with his tongue and hisasws heart and his sword’.

لم و قلأ له إنأ م د السه ه عنأ محمه بي أنأ بلغأ لة على النه ل بالصه ة.قال فيجيبه ملك موكه ت رفيقه في الأجنه ته على هذا فأنأ

Heasws said: ‘So the Angel Allocated with the Salawat upon the Prophetsaww answers him, ‘Deliver to him the greetings on behalf of Muhammadsaww and say to him, ‘If you die upon this, so you (Futrus) would be his friend in the Paradise’’.30

ثنا جعأ دي قال: قال: قال: حده فر الأمحمه ن جعأ بأ د للاه ن عبأ فر بأ

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Ja’far Bin Abdullah Bin Ja’far Al Muhammady who said,

ن أبي طالب عنأ أبيه ن علي بأ ن بأ ن الأحسيأ ن علي بأ ثنا عمر بأ د ما بايع حده ت قاعدا بعأ ن عنأ أبي رافع قال: كنأ ن الأحسيأ عنأ علي بأ ص ج لم أنه رسول للاه هلأ تعأ شدك للاه اس أنأ ر يقول للأعبه ت أبا بكأ ر فسمعأ ل النهاس أبا بكأ لب و أوأ د الأمطه ت فيهمأ مع بني عبأ دهمأ و أنأ

و جمعكمأ دون قريأش

‘It was narrated to us by Umar, son of Aliasws Bin Al-Husaynasws Bin Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws, from hisasws fatherasws, from Aliasws Bin Al-Husaynasws, from Abu Raf’iu who said, ‘I was seated after the people had pledged allegiance to Abu Bakr and I heard Abu Bakr saying to Al-Abbas, ‘I adjure you to Allahazwj! Do you know that Rasool-Allahsaww gathered the Clan of Abdul Muttalibas, and their children, and you were among them, and hesaww gathered them beside the Qureysh.

تعالى نبيا إله جعل له أخا و وزيرا و عث للاه ه لمأ يبأ لب أنه د الأمطه كمأ يبايعني فقال يا بني عبأ له فمنأ يقوم منأ وصيا و خليفة في أهأكمأ أحد على أنأ يكون أخ لي فلمأ يقمأ منأ ي و وزيري و وصيي و خليفتي في أهأ

And hesaww said: ‘O Clan of Abdul Muttalibas! It is so that Allahazwj the Exalted did not Send a Prophetas except Heazwj Made for himas a brother, and a Vizier, and a successoras, and a Caliph among hisas family. So who is standing among you all pledging allegiance to mesaww upon the stipulation that he would happen to be mysaww brother, and mysaww Vizier, and mysaww successor, and mysaww Caliph among mysaww family?’. But no one from you all stood up.

ليقومنه ق نابا و للاه لم رءوسا و ل تكونوا أذأ سأ لب كونوا في الأ د الأمطه دمنه فقام فقال يا بني عبأ ركمأ ثمه لتنأ ائمكمأ و ليكوننه في غيأ.علي منأ ب ؟ قال نعمأ لم ذلك منأ رسول للاه ه أ تعأ ط له و دعاه إليأ نكمأ فبايعه على شرأ يأ

So hesaww said: ‘O Clan of Abdul Muttalibas! Become chief in Al-Islam and do not become infantrymen. By Allahazwj! Let your standing one stand (or else) it would come to be in others, then you will be regretting’. So Aliasws stood up from between you all and pledged allegiance to himsaww upon a stipulation of hissaww, and called himasws to it. Do you know that (to be) from Rasool-Allahsaww?’ He said, ‘Yes’’.31

It was so that Rasool-Allahsaww had said to Aliasws: ‘Youasws would be

oppressed from after mesaww’’.

مود ن أبي محأ راهيم بأ مد الأمالكي عنأ أبيه عنأ إبأ ن أحأ ثنا الأحسن بأ حده

It was narrated to us by Al Hassan Bin Ahmad Al Maliky, from his father, from Ibrahim Bin Abu Mahmoud,

ضا ع عنأ أبيه ن موسى الر ن علي ع قال: عنأ علي بأ ن بأ د عنأ أبيه عنأ آبائه عن الأحسيأ ن محمه فر بأ فر عنأ أبيه جعأ ن جعأ موسى بأ ص ك و طوبى لمنأ تب قال رسول للاه تدى عليأ ل لمنأ ظلمك و اعأ دي فويأ لوم بعأ ت الأمظأ ترأ عليأك : يا علي أنأ عك و لمأ يخأ

From Aliasws Bin Musa Al-Rezaasws, from hisasws fatherasws Musaasws Bin Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws, from hisasws fatherasws, from hisasws forefathersasws, from Al-Husaynasws Bin Aliasws having said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘O Aliasws! Youasws will be oppressed after measws. Therefore, woe be to the one who oppressed youasws, and assaults upon youasws, and beatitude is for the one who follows youasws and does not chose (someone else) over youasws.

ت ا ل لمنأ قاتلك و طوبى لمنأ قاتل معك يا علي أنأ دي فويأ لأمقاتل بعأ

O Aliasws! Youasws would be fought against after mesaww. Therefore, woe be unto the one who fights against youasws and beatitude is for the one who is killed alongside youasws.

ك و طوبى لم ل لمنأ رده عليأ دي فويأ طق بكلمي و تتكلهم بلساني بعأ ت الهذي تنأ نأ قبل كلمك يا علي أنأ

O Aliasws! Youasws are the one who would speak with mysaww speech and talk by mysaww tongue after mesaww. Therefore, woe be unto the one who rebuts against you and beatitude is for the one who accepts yourasws speech.

ها منأ فارقك فارقني ي ت إمامها و خليفتي عليأ دي و أنأ ة بعأ مه د هذه الأ ت سي م يا علي أنأ م الأقيامة و منأ كان معك كان معي يوأ وأ الأقيامة

O Aliasws! You are the chief of this community after mesaww, and youasws are its Imamasws, and mysaww Caliph upon it. The one who separates from youasws would be separated from mesaww on the Day of Judgment, and the one who was with youasws, would be with mesaww on the Day of Judgment.

ل ت أوه ل منأ يا علي أنأ ت أوه ي و أنأ ري و جاهد معي عدو ل منأ أعانني على أمأ ت أوه قني و أنأ صلهى معي و منأ آمن بي و صدهلة الأجهالة مئذ في غفأ النهاس يوأ

O Aliasws! Youasws are the first one who believed in mesaww and ratify mesaww, and youasws were to first one to assist mesaww upon mysaww matter, and fought alongside mesaww with mysaww enemies, and youasws were the first one who prayed Salat with mesaww and the people in those days were in oblivion of the ignorance.

O Aliasws! Youasws would be the first one for whom the group would be cleft asunder, and youasws would be the first one who would be Resurrected with mesaww, and you would be the first one who would cross the Bridge with mesaww. And mysaww Lordazwj Mighty and Majestic Swore by Hisazwj Mighty that none shall cross the obstacle of the Bridge except for the one who would have a deed with yourasws Wilayah and the Wilayah of the Imamsasws from yourasws sonsasws.

ت الأ ت صاحبي إذا قمأ داءك و أنأ لياءك و تذود أعأ ه أوأ قي منأ ضي تسأ ل منأ يرد حوأ ت أوه يك فتشفهع و أنأ فع لمحب مود تشأ مقام الأمحأة و بيدك خل الأجنه ل منأ يدأ ت أوه س و الأقمر و أنأت فيهمأ و أنأ سع من الشهمأ ه أوأ قهة منأ عون شقهة الش د و هو سبأ لوائي و هو لواء الأحمأ

صانها في دور شيعتك و محبيك. لها في دارك و أغأ ة أصأ صاحب شجرة طوبى في الأجنه

And youasws would be the first one who would return to mysaww Fountain to quench yourasws friends from it and prevent yourasws enemies. And youasws would be mysaww companion when Isaww stand at the place of the Most-Praised One ( مود ,(الأمقام الأمحأinterceding for those that love youasws, and youasws would intercede for them. And youasws would be the first one to enter the Paradise, and in yourasws hand would be mysaww flag, and it is the Flag of Praise, and it is of seventy compartments, (each of) the compartments from it is more vast than the sun and the moon. And youasws would be the owner of the tree of Tooba in the Paradise, its roots being in yourasws house and its branches being in the houses of yourasws Shias and those that love youasws’’.

So Ibrahim Bin Abu Mahmoud (the narrator) said, ‘So I said to Al-Rezaasws, ‘O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww! With us there are certain reports regarding the merits of Amir Al-Momineenasws and yourasws merits, the Peopleasws of the Household, and it is a report from yourasws adversaries, and we do not recognise its like with us. Should we make it a Religion with it?’

So heasws said: ‘O Ibn Abu Mahmoud! Myasws fatherasws has informed measws from hisasws fatherasws, from hisasws grandfatherasws that Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘The one who listens to a speaker so he has worshipped him. So if he was the speaker from Allahazwj, so he has worshipped Allahazwj, but if he was speaking from Ibleesla, so he has worshipped Ibleesla’.

Then Al-Rezaasws said: ‘O Ibn Abu Mahmoud! Ourasws adversaries wasted the Ahadeeth regarding ourasws merits and made these to be upon three categories. One of these is the exaggeration, and its second is the derogation regarding ourasws matter, and its third are the statements with the flaws of ourasws enemies.

تنا و إذا سم ل بربوبيه تقدوه فينا و إذا سمعوا مثالب فإذا سمع النهاس الأغلوه فينا كفهروا شيعتنا و نسبوهمأ إلى الأقوأ صير اعأ قأ عوا التهمائنا و قدأ ق مائهمأ ثلبونا بأسأ دائنا بأسأ عزه و جل أعأ ر علأم ال للاه وا بغيأ عدأ فيسبوا للاه عون منأ دون للاه و ل تسبوا الهذين يدأ

So when the people hear the exaggeration regarding usasws, they disbelieve ourasws Shias and they link them to the words with ourasws Lordship. And when they hear the derogation, they believe it regarding usasws. And when they hear the flaws of ourasws enemies with their names, they defame usasws with ourasws names. And Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic has Said [6:108] And do not abuse those whom they call upon besides Allah, lest exceeding the limits they should abuse Allah without knowledge’’.

ناه اس يمينا و شمال فالأزمأ طريقتنا فإنه منأ لزمنا لزمأ مود إذا أخذ النه ن أبي محأ رج به يا ابأ نى ما يخأ ناه إنه أدأ و منأ فارقنا فارقأيمان أنأ يقول للأحصاة هذه نواة جل من الأ نأ خالفه ثم الره أ ممه يدين بذلك و يتبره

O Ibn Abu Mahmoud! When the people take to the right and left, so necessitate to ourasws way, for the one who necessitates usasws, weasws would necessitate him, and the one who separates from usasws, weasws would be separated from himasws. The least by which the man exits from the Eman is that he is saying to the pebble that this is a date stone, then he makes it a Religion with that, and he disavows from the one who oppose him.

ن أبي خرة.يا ابأ يا و الأ نأ ر الد ت لك فيه خيأ تك به فقدأ جمعأ ثأ فظأ ما حده مود احأ محأ

O Ibn Abu Mahmoud: ‘Preserve what Iasws have narrated to you with, for Iasws have gathered for you therein the goodness of the world and the Hereafter’’.32

ن جنادة ق ش بأ حاق عنأ حبيأ رائيل عنأ أبي إسأ ثنا إسأ ن رجاء قال: حده بأ د للاه ثنا عبأ قال: ال: حده

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Abdullah Bin Raja’a who said, ‘It was narrated to us by Israil, from Abu Is’haq, from Hubeysh Bin Junada who said,

ص وعدني إنه رسول للاه ر فأتاه رجل فقال يا خليفة رسول للاه د أبي بكأ ت جالسا عنأ ر فقال أبو كنأ ثو ثلث حثيات منأ تمأ أنأ يحأع لي عليا فجاء علي ع ر ادأ ثو له ثلث حثي بكأ وعده أنأ يحأ كر أنه رسول للاه ر يا أبا الأحسن إنه هذا يذأ ر فقال أبو بكأ ات منأ تمأ

I was seated in the presence of Abu Bakr, and a man came to him and he said, ‘O caliph of Rasool-Allahsaww! Rasool-Allahsaww promised me that hesaww would give me three handfuls of dates’. So Abu Bakr said, ‘Call Aliasws for me’. So Aliasws came over, and Abu Bakr said, ‘O Abu Al-Hassanasws! This one is mentioning that Rasool-Allahsaww

promised him that hesaww would give him three handfuls of dates, therefore give these to him’.

So heasws picked for him three handfuls of dates, and Abu Bakr said, ‘Count these!’ So they found, in each handful, sixty dates. So Abu Bakr said, ‘Rasool-Allahsaww spoke the truth. I heard himsaww saying on the night of the emigration, and we were going out from Makkah to Al-Medina, hesaww was saying: ‘O Abu Bakr! Mysaww palm and the palm of Aliasws in the justice, is the same’’.33

He said, ‘It was informed to us by Abu Al Hassan Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Al Waleed, from his father, from Sa’ad Bin Abdullah, from Ahmad BinMuhammad Bin Isa, from Yunus Bin Kaseer, from Alqama who said,

و الأ صني جعلأت فداك فقال أوصيك بتقأوى للاه ع أوأ د للاه ق قلأت لبي عبأ مانة و صدأ جود و أداء الأ ورع و الأعبادة و طول السضروا جنائزهمأ ضاكمأ و احأ ن الأجوار صلوا عشائركمأ و عودوا مرأ الأحديث و حسأ

‘I said to Abu Abdullahasws, ‘Advise me, may I be sacrificed for youasws!’ So heasws said: ‘I advise you with the fear of Allahazwj, and the devoutness, and the worship, and the prolonged prostrations, and the repayment of the entrustments, and the truthful narrations, and the goodly neighbourliness, and helping your relatives, and consoling your sick ones, and attending your (deceased ones) funerals.

وا إ همأ جر ضونا إليأ نا أحبونا إلى النهاس و ل تبغ نا شيأ نا و ل تكونوا عليأ ا كله قب كونوا لنا زيأ فعوا عنه ة و ادأ نا كله موده يح ما فينا ليأن كذلك ما نحأ له و ما قيل فينا منأ شر فو للاه ن أهأ ر فنحأ منأ خيأ

Become an adornment for usasws and do not become a disgrace upon usasws. Make usasws to be beloved to the people and do not make usasws to be hateful to them. Pull towards usasws every cordiality and repel from usasws every ugliness. Whatever is regarding usasws from the goodness, so weasws are it’s rightful, and whatever is said regarding usasws from the evil, so by Allahazwj, weasws are not like that.

For usasws there is a right in the Book of Allahazwj, and a closeness from Rasool-Allahsaww, and goodly coming to the world. Thus, like this is what you should be saying, by Allahazwj, upon the clear aim. Therefore, assist usasws with the devoutness, and striving. There is no crime upon the one whom Allahazwj Recognises with this matter (Al-Wilayah). Indeed! The people would recognise him by it. It is so that the one who works for the people, his Reward would be upon the people, and the one who works for Allahazwj, his Reward would be upon Allahazwj.

لب جهاد الأمغالب و ل لب من الأعفهة و ل تجاهد الطه مال في الطه جأة و الأ نه ل من الس تغاء الأفضأ لم فإنه ابأ تسأ ست تتهكلأ على الأمسأ و ليأ

قوف و جل موأ سوم و الأ ق مقأ زأ ل فإنه الر ص بجالب فضأ قا و ل الأحرأ م الأعفهة بدافعة رزأ ثأ ص يورث الأ الأحرأ

And do not strive excessively (like) the seeking of the conqueror, and do not rely upon the submissive ones, for the seeking of the Grace is from the Sunnah, and the generality of the seeking is from the chastity, and there isn’t the chastity in the pull of the sustenance, nor does the greed bring Grace, for the sustenance is apportioned, and the death is suspended, and the greed tends to inherit the sin.

Allahazwj should not Miss you from where Heazwj has Commanded you (to be), nor should Heazwj See you where Heazwj has Forbidden you (to be). Whatever Allahazwj has Favoured upon a servant, so he thanks for it by his heart, except Allahazwj would Obligate the increase before he even manifests its gratefulness upon his tongue. The one who shortens his hand from the reward, so let him prolong his tongue with the gratefulness, and from the right of thanking for the Bounties of Allahazwj is that after his thanking he thanks the Oneazwj Who Flowed that Bounty upon his hand’’.34

Salman Al-Farsyra said: ‘Myra friend Abu Al-Qasimsaww advised meas with seven (things) Ias should not leave these upon every state until Ira die – Ira should look at the one who is below mera and that Ira should not look at the one who is above mera, and that Ira should love the poor and be closer to them, and Ira should say the truth and even if it was bitter, and that Ira should maintain myra relationships and even if it was restricted, and that Ira should not ask the people for anything and frequently be saying, ‘There is neither Might

nor Strength except with Allahazwj’, for it is a treasure from the treasures of the Paradise’’.35

And Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Three are savers and three are destroyers. So, as for the saved ones, it is the fear of Allahazwj in the privacy and the public, and the (doing of) justice during the anger and the pleasure, and the moderation during the poverty and the prosperity. As for the destroyers, it is the lustful desires obeyed, and personal opinions followed, and the wonderment of the man with himself (self-conceitedness)’’.36

The Prophetsaww informing Aliasws on the Day of Ohad that heasws would

not be martyred during the event, but heasws would be killed after that.

From Ikrama, from Ibn Abbas who said,

هد إنه قال علي ع تشأ هد منأ اسأ تشأ هادة و اسأ ت عن الشه رأ م أحد حين أخه إنهك قلأت لي يوأ هادة منأ ورائك قال ص : يا رسول للاه الشها ب يته و رأأسه فقال علي ع لمه وى بيده إلى لحأ رك إذا خضبتأ هذه منأ هذا و أهأ ف صبأ ر و كيأ بأ س ذلك منأ مواطن الصه ليت فليأ

رى و الأكرام ة.لكنأ هو مواطن الأبشأ

‘Aliasws Said: ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! Yousaww said to measws on the Day of Ohad, when Iasws was delayed, about the martyrdom, and he witnessed, the one who witnessed, that: ‘The martyrdom is from behind youasws’. Hesaww said: ‘How would yourasws patience be when this is dyed from this?’ – and hesaww gestured by hissaww hand to hisasws beard and hisasws head. So Aliasws said: ‘When Iasws am afflicted, so that isn’t from the places of patience, but it is a place of the glad tidings and the prestige’’.37

happened to Musa Bin Isa Al-Hashimy with the soil of Al-Husaynasws.

بعي الأكاتب قال: ن موسى الره د بأ محمه د للاه ثنا أبو عبأ د الأعزيز قال: قال: حده ن عبأ ثني أبي موسى بأ حده

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Abu Abdullah Muhammad Bin Musa Al Rabi’e, the scribe whosaid, ‘It was narrate to me by Abu Musa Bin Abdul Aziz who said,

مد ف راني الأمتطبب في شارع أبي أحأ ن سراقيون النهصأ ا بأ قفني و قال لي بحق نبيك و دينك منأ هذا الهذي يزور لقيني يوحنه توأ اسأم ره ]قوأ حابه هو قبأ س هو منأ أصأ ؟ قلأت ليأ كمأ حاب نبي رة؟ منأ هو منأ أصأ ن هبيأ ر ابأ كمأ بناحية قصأ ته فما دعاك [ منأ ن بنأ إلى ابأ

Youhanna Bin Saraqiyun the Christian physician met me in Abu Ahmad street, so he paused by and said to me: ‘By the right of your Prophetsaww and this Religion of yours, Who is this one whose grave you are visiting, this grave which is by the area of the mansion of Ibn Hubeyra? Who is he from the companions of your Prophetsaww?’ I said, ‘Heasws isn’t from hissaww companions. Heasws is a sonasws of hissaww daughterasws. So what called you to ask about himasws?’

ل فقال له شيد في اللهيأ ه إليه سابور الأكبير الأخادم الره ني به فقال وجه ثأ دي حديث طريف قلأت حد ه فقال تعال معي عنأ ت إليأ فصرأن ن عيسى الأهاشمي فوجدأ ت فيها فمضى و أنا معه حتهى دخلأنا على موسى بأ ه طشأ ن يديأ كئا على وسادة و إذا بيأ ل مته اه زائل الأعقأ

ضره من الأكوفة تحأ شيد اسأ فه و كان الره و جوأ حشأ

So he said to him, ‘With me is an odd Hadeeth.’ I said, ‘Narrate to me with it’. He said, ‘Sabour, the main servant of Al-Rasheed came to me during the night, so I went to him, and he said, ‘Come with me’. So he went and I was with him, until we entered to see Musa Bin Isa Al-Hashimy, and we found in with a fleeting mind, reclining upon a cushion, and in front of him there was a tray wherein were some fillings in the middle of it, and it was so that Al-Rasheed had brought him from Al-Kufa.

برك أنه حك ما خبره؟ فقال له أخأ ة موسى فقال له ويأ بل سابور على خادم منأ خاصه له ندماؤه و فأقأ ه كان منأ ساعة جالسا و حوأن علي ع ن بأ ر الأحسيأ يبهمأ نفأسا إذأ جرى ذكأ ما و أطأ هو منأ أصح النهاس جسأ

So Sabour turned towards the special servants of Musa and said to him, ‘Woe be unto you! What is his news?’ He said to him, ‘I shall inform you. He was seated for a while and around him were his sympathisers. He was from the most healthy ones of the people and of good self, when the mention of Al-Husayn Bin Aliasws flowed.

Youhanna said, ‘This is what I asked you about’. So Musa said, ‘The Rafizis (Shias) tend to exaggerate regarding himasws to the extent that they, in what I understand, are making hisasws soil as a medicine and are curing by it’. So the man from the Clan of Hashim said to him, ‘I was present and there was a serious illness with me, and I treated it with every treatment, but it did not benefit me until my scribe described to me that I should take from this soil. So I took it and Allahazwj Benefited me with it, and it declined, what (illness) is used to find.

ها دك منأ خلها د شيأ قال فبقي عنأ تدأ ن عيسى فأخذها موسى فاسأ عة فناولها موسى بأ ها بقطأ ه فجاءوه منأ زاء ء قال نعمأ فوجه تهأ بره اسأني ا بته يعأ جل الهذي هذه ترأ غيرا لهذا الره تقارا و تصأ بمنأ يداوي بها و احأ خلها دبره حتهى صا تدأ ن أن اسأ ن ع فما هو الأ لأحسيأ

دماء فصار الأ صرف الن رج فيها ما ترى فانأ ت فأخأ شأ ناه بالطه ت فجئأ شأ ت الطه شأ ار الطه ار النه لس مأأتما النه مجأ

He said, ‘Does something from it (the soil) remain with you?’ He said, ‘Yes’. So he diverted to it and came with a piece from it and gave it to Musa Bin Isa. So Musa took it and inserted it into his backside as a mockery with the ones who cure with it, and as a contempt and belittling to this manasws whose soil it was, meaning Al-Husaynasws. Thus, what he is now is that he had inserted it in his backside until fire became fire, and the tray, the tray. So we came to him with the tray and extracted into it what you see. And the sympathisers left, and the gathering came to be a mourning.

عة فإذا كبده و طحاله و رئته فأقأ ت بشمأ ظرأ هلأ لك فيه حيلة؟ فدعوأ ت بل عليه سابور فقال انأ ت فنظرأ شأ ه في الطه و فؤاده خرج منأع إله أنأ يك ر عظيم فقلأت ما لحد في هذا صنأ تى إلى أمأ يي الأموأ ون لعيسى الهذي كان يحأ

So Sabour turned to me and he said, ‘Look, is there a scheme for you regarding him (to cure him)?’ So I treated him with a candle, and there was his liver, and his spleen, and his lung, and his heart, (pieces) of it had come out from him into the tray. So I looked at a grievous matter, and I said, ‘There is nothing to do for anyone with regards to this except for Isaas who used to revive the dead’.

Sabour said to me, ‘You speak the truth, but be over here in the house until it becomes clear what is to happen from his matter’. So I remained with them and he was in that state, not raising his head, and he died in the time of pre-dawn.

Muhammad Bin Musa said, ‘Musa Bin Sari’e said to me, ‘It was so that Youhanna was visiting the grave of Al-Husaynasws and he was upon his Religion (Christianity). Then he became a Muslim after this, and excellent was his Islam’’.39

Relying upon part of it, he said, ‘It was narrated to us by Abd Rabbih Bin Alqamah, from Hammad Bin Salama, from Yahya Bin Saeed, from Saeed Bin Al Musayyab who said,

اب ن الأخطه قو قال عمر بأ دوا و اته راف و توده شأ بوا إلى الأ ه ل يتم شرف إله بولية : تحبه لموا أنه فلة و اعأ راضكمأ من السه ا على أعأن أبي طالب ع. علي بأ

‘Umar Bin Al-Khattab said, ‘Be loving towards the noblemen and be cordial, and fear upon your honour from the lowly ones, and know that the nobility is not complete except by the Wilayah of Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws’’.40

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Yahya Bin Abdul Hameed Al Himmany, dictating upon a pulpit of his, said,

ن عيهاش ر بأ زلي فلقيني أبو بكأ ن عيسى الأهاشمي الأكوفة منأ منأ ام ولية موسى بأ ت أيه ض ب خرجأ يى إلى هذا فلمأ فقال لي امأ نا يا يحأر عنأ مراجعته و كان راكبا حمارا له فجعل يسير عليأ ت أجل أبا بكأ ني و كنأ ر منأ يعأ د أدأ نا عنأ ا صرأ شي مع ركابه فلمه ه و أنا أمأ

د روفة بدار عبأ ار الأمعأ شي الده تك أنأ تمأ تك معي و حشمأ ما جررأ اني إنه ن الأحمه ن جابر الأتفت إليه فقال يا ابأ بأ معك ما للاه خلأفي لسأاغية أقول لهذا الطه

‘I went out from my house during the days of the rule of Musa Bin Isa Al-Hashimy in Al-Kufa, and Abu Bakr Bin Ayyash met me, and he said to me, ‘Come with us, O Yahya, to this one’. But, I did not know what he meant, and I used to deter Abu Bakr from his reviews, and he was riding a donkey of his. So he went on easily upon it and I was walking with his ride. So when we came to be by the house well known as the house of Abdullah Bin Jabir, he turned towards me and he said, ‘O Ibn Al-Himany! But rather, I brought you with me and your virtue, so that you would walk behind me in order for you to hear what I would be saying to this tyrant’.

ه و مضى و ن عيسى فسكت عنأ ر؟ فقال هذا الأفاجر الأكافر موسى بأ ن قال فقلأت منأ هو يا أبا بكأ بعه حتهى إذا صرأ ا إلى باب أنا أتهزلأ بة فلمأ ينأ حأ د الره زلون عنأ اس ينأ نه و كان النه ن عيسى و بصر به الأحاجب و تبيه مئذ موسى بأ ه يوأ ر هناك و كان عليأ أبو بكأ

He said, ‘So I said, ‘Who is he, O Abu Bakr?’ He Said, ‘This immoral, disbeliever, Musa Bin Isa (the governor)!’ So I was silent from him and kept going, and I followed him until when we came to the door of Musa Bin Isa and the guard saw him and became clear to him. And it was so that those people were being lodged at Al-Rahba, but Abu Bakr did

not lodge over there, and on that day he had upon him a shirt and a loincloth, and he had buttoned the loincloth.

ن نعه يا فاعل و هو معي فتركني قال فدخل على حماره و ناداني فقال يا ابأ ر و قال أ تمأ اني فمنعني الأحاجب فزجره أبو بكأ الأحمهيوان ع ر الأ يوان فبصر بنا موسى و هو قاعد في صدأ رير لى سر فما زال يسير على حماره حتهى دخل الأ بي السه ير و بجنأ

نعون رجال متسلحين و كذلك كانوا يصأ

He said, ‘So he went over to his donkey and called out to me, and he said, ‘O Abu Al-Himmany!’ But the guard prevented me. So Abu Bakr rebuked him and said, ‘Are you preventing him, O subject, and he is with me?’ So he left me, and I did not cease to travel upon his donkey until we entered the hallway, and we saw Musa and he was seated in the middle of the hallway, upon a bed, and on the side of the bed were some men, heavily armed, and that is how they normally used to be.

ت أنا حين وصلأت إلى الأ عده على سريره و منعأ به و أقأ ب به و قره ا أنأ رآه موسى رحه ر فلمه تقره أبو بكأ ا اسأ يوان أنأ أتجاوزه فلمه

So when Musa saw him, he welcomed him and drew him nearer, and sat him upon his bed, and I was prevented, when I arrived to the hallway that I should exceed it. So when Abu Bakr settled upon the bed, he (Musa) turned, so he saw me where I had paused. So he called out to me, ‘Come, woe be unto you’. So I went over to him, and my slippers were in my legs, and upon me was a shirt and a loin cloth, and he sat me in front of him.

ك قال ت به شاهدا عليأ نا فيه قال ل و لكني جئأ ه موسى فقال هذا رجل تكلهمأ تك و ما فالأتفت إليأ ت بهذا فبما ذا قال إني رأيأ صنعأت رسول للاه ن فاطمة بنأ ن علي ابأ ن بأ ر الأحسيأ ر قال قبأ ر قال أي قبأ الأقبأ

Musa turned towards me and he said, ‘This man, you would like us to speak regarding him?’ He said, ‘No, but I came with him as a witness upon you’. He said, ‘Regarding what, would that be?’ He said, ‘I saw you, and what you did with this grave’. He said, ‘And which grave?’ He said, ‘The grave of Al-Husaynasws Bin Aliasws, sonasws of Fatimaasws, daughterasws of Rasool-Allahsaww’.

ع فيها و رأ ض الأحائر و حرثها و زرع الزه ه منأ كربه و كرب جميع أرأ ه إليأ قده كان موسى قدأ وجه تفخ موسى حتهى كاد أنأ ينأ فانأبرك. معأ حتهى أخأ ت و ذا قال اسأ ثمه قال و ما أنأ

And it was that Musa was facing towards him, ‘Who would agonise himasws and agonise the entirety of Al-Ha’ir and plough it and plant it with the plantation in it?’ So Musa bulged (with anger) until he almost came to criticising. Then he said, ‘And what is it to you and that?’ He said, ‘I heard it, so I informed you’.

(He said), ‘Know, that I saw in my dream as if I had gone to my people, the Clan of Ghazira. So when I came to the archway of Al-Kufa, ten pigs presented to me, coming towards me. So Allahazwj Helped me by a man whom I recognised as being from the Clan of Asad. So he repelled them from me, and I went on towards my direction. So when I came to Shahy, I lost the way, and I saw over there an old woman. She said to me, ‘Where are you intending (to go to), O you Sheykh?’ I said, ‘I am intending Al-Ghazira’.

طنأ هذ تبأ نوى فقال لي اسأ ت إلى نيأ ا صرأ ت و فعلأت ذلك فلمه ريق فمضيأ ت آخره اتهضح لك الطه خ كبير ا الأوادي فإذا أتيأ إذا أنا بشيأل هذه الأق خ؟ فقال أنا منأ أهأ يأ ها الشه ت أي ن أنأ ا مضى منأ جالس هناك فقلأت منأ أيأ فظ ممه نين؟ فقال ما أحأ ية فقلأت كمأ تعد من الس رأ

له و ن علي ع و منأ كان معه منأ أهأ ن بأ ت الأحسيأ ري أني رأيأ عد ذكأ نعون الأماء الهذي سني و عمري و لكنه أبأ تراه و منأ تبعه يمأت ذلك ظمأ تعأ ربه فاسأ ش تشأ نع الأكلب و ل الأوحأ ل يمأ

So she said to me, ‘Move into this valley, and when you come to the end of it, the road would become clear to you’. So when I came to Naynawa, I saw an aged old man seated over there, and I said to him, ‘Where are you from, O you Sheykh?’ He said, ‘I am from the people of this town’. So I said, ‘What is the count of your years (age)?’ He said, ‘I have not preserved from what has passed from my years and my age, but my distant memory is that I saw Al-Husaynasws Bin Aliasws and the ones who were with himasws from hisasws family, and the ones who pursued himasws preventing the water which you see, and neither are the dogs prevented nor the wild beasts to drink from it. Thus, heasws was thirsty due to that’.

ت هذا قال إي و منأ سمك ت رأيأ حك أنأ حابك تعينون على ما قدأ فقلأت ويأ ت و أصأ ته و أنأ خ و عاينأ يأ ها الشه ت هذا أي ماء لقدأ رأيأ السهحك و ما هو؟ قال حيأث لم فقلأت ويأ يا مسأ نأ لمين إنأ كان في الد عيون الأمسأ ر نا فما أقأ ك رأيأ ه فقلأت لمأ تنأ رى سلأطانكمأ إليأ روا ما أجأر؟ ق ن الأقبأ ضه فقلأت و أيأ رث أرأ ت النهبي ص و يحأ ن بنأ ر ابأ رب قبأ ه قال أ يكأ رى إليأ ا ال ها هو ذاما أجأ ضه فأمه ت واقف في أرأ أنأ

ر فقدأ عمي عنأ ضعه. الأقبأ رف موأ أنأ يعأ

So I said, ‘Woe be unto you! You saw this?’ He said, ‘Yes, by the Oneazwj Who Thickened the sky! I have seen this, O you Sheykh, and I witnessed it and observed it, and you and your companions are setting your eyes upon what we have seen. So how ulcerated are the eyes of the Muslims, if there is a Muslim in the world’. So I said, ‘Woe be unto you! So what is it?’ He said, ‘Where you are not denying what your ruling authority is implementing to it’ .So I sa said, ‘What is he implementing to it?’ He said, ‘A distressed grave of a sonasws of the daughterasws of the Prophetsaww and plough hisasws ground’. So I said, ‘Where is the grave?’ He said, ‘Here it is, that one. You are paused in hisasws ground. So, as for the grave, so it has been lost from its place being recognised’.

ته في طول عمري فق ل ذلك قط و ل أتيأ ر قبأ ت الأقبأ ت رأيأ ن عيهاش و ما كنأ ر بأ خ قال أبو بكأ يأ رفته فمضى معي الشه لأت فمنأ لي بمعأن بنأ حتهى وقف لي على خول على ابأ ذن أريد الد فقال حائر له باب و آذن و إذا جماعة كثيرة على الأباب فقلأت للأ ت رسول للاه

راه ت زيارة إبأ ت قلأت و لم؟ قال هذا وقأ در على الأوصول في هذا الأوقأ رئيل و ل تقأ و معهما جبأ د رسول للاه و محمه يم خليل للاه ميكائيل في رعيل من الأملئكة.

Ibn Bakr Bin Ayyash said, ‘And I had not seen the grave before that, at all, nor had I come to be in the length of my lifetime. So I said, ‘So who would be for me with in recognising it?’ So the Sheykh went with me until he paused me upon a hesitation of his

at a door and sought permission, and there were a lot of groups at the door. So I sought to the door keeper, ‘I want the entry permission upon the sonasws of the daughterasws of Rasool-Allahsaww’. So he said, ‘You will not be able upon the arrival during this time’. I said, ‘And why not?’ He said, ‘This is the time of the visitation of Ibrahimas, the Friend of Allahazwj, and Muhammadsaww, Rasoolsaww of Allahazwj, and with themasws are Jibraeelas and Mikaeel among a group of Angels’.

ت تبهأ اش فانأ ن عيه ر بأ سى الأمنام قال أبو بكأ ت أنأ ام حتهى كدأ يه ن و كآبة و مضتأ بي الأ ع شديد و حزأ مي و قدأ دخلني روأ ثمه منأ نوأكر ت و أنا ل أذأ همأ فخرجأ ن على رجل منأ ت إلى الأخروج إلى بني غاضرة كان لي ديأ طررأ طرة اضأ ت بقنأ الأحديث حتهى صرأ

يتي لهمأ فق ت منأ خشأ ت الأحديث و رعبأ تهمأ ذكرأ سك و الأكوفة لقيني عشرة من اللصوص فحين رأيأ ج بنفأ الوا لي ألأق ما معك و أنأقة. كانتأ معي نفيأ

Abu Bakr Bin Ayyash said, ‘So I woke upon from my sleep and intense fright and grief and depression had entered into me. And the days passed by me until I almost forgot the dream. Then I was desperate to the going out to the Clan of Ghazira, as there was a debt for me upon a men from them. So I went out and I did not remember the Hadeeth until I came to the archway of Al-Kufa, and ten thieves came across me. So when I saw them, I remembered the Hadeeth and I was awed from my fear of them. They said to me, ‘Cast whatever is with you, and escape yourself’, and there was expense monies with me.

طع ل تقأ للاه ن لي فالله ت في طلب ديأ ما خرجأ اش و إنه ن عيه ر بأ حكمأ أنا أبو بكأ وني في نفقت فقلأت ويأ ني و تضر ي وا بي عنأ طلب ديأيان ض فتأ ضأ له ثمه قال لبعأ ل تعره لي و للاه همأ موأ ضاقة فنادى رجل منأ

ريق فإني شديد الأ همأ كنأ معه حتهى تصير به إلى الطهمن يأ الأ

So I said, ‘Woe be unto you! I am Abu Bakr Bin Ayyash, and rather I came out seeking a debt of mine. So for the Sake of Allahazwj, do not cut off my way from seeking my debt, and make me desperate regarding my expense monies, for I am intensely constricted (financially)’. So a man from them called out, ‘My slave! Do not expose him’. Then he said to one of his youths, ‘Be with him until you come with him to the right road.

ت ب منأ تأأويل الأخنازير فمضيأ ت في الأمنام و أتعجه ر ما رأيأ ر فجعلأت أتذكه ت و الهذي ل حتهىقال أبو بكأ نوى فرأيأ ت إلى نيأ صرأته في الأيقظة كم ئته رأيأ ته في منامي بصورته و هيأ ت رأيأ خ الهذي كنأ يأ ت إله إله هو الشه ته ذكرأ ته في الأمنام سواء فحين رأيأ ا رأيأ

ر و الر مأ يا الأ ما كان هذا إله وحأ يا فقلأت ل إله إله للاه ؤأ

Abu Bakr said, ‘So I went on to remember what I had seen in the dream, and I was astounded from the interpretation of the pigs. I went on until I came to Naynawa, and I saw, by the Oneazwj there is no god except Heazwj, the (very same) Sheykh whom I had seen in my dream, in his image and appearance I saw during the wakefulness just as I had seen him in the dream, same. So when I saw him, I remembered the matter and the dream, so I said, ‘There is no god except Allahazwj, this wasn’t except for a Revelation’.

ض بنا ف اه في الأمنام فأجابني بما كان أجابني به ثمه قال لي امأ ألتي إيه ضع و ه ثمه سألأته كمسأ ت معه على الأموأ ت فوقفأ و مضيأني شيأ روب فلمأ يفتأ ر فإني لمأ أر حائرا و لمأ أر آذنا مكأ ذن و الأحيأ ء في منامي إله الأ

Then I asked him just as was my questioning him in the dream, and he answered me just as he had answered me with it. Then he said to me, ‘Come with us’. So I went and paused with him upon the place, and he was distressed. Nothing in my dream tried me except for the door keeper and the hesitation, for I did not see the hesitation and did not see a door keeper.

ت على نفأسي أله أدع إذاعة هذا الأحديث و ل زيا جل فإني قدأ آليأ ها الره أي ظامه فاتهق للاه ده و إعأ ضع و قصأ فإنه رة ذلك الأموأيانه و زيار غب في إتأ رئيل و ميكائيل لحقيق أنأ يرأ د و جبأ راهيم و محمه ضعا يأأتيه إبأ موأ ثني أنه رسول للاه ن حده ته فإنه أبا حصيأ

ه بي.ص قال: منأ رآني في الأمنام فإيهاي رأى فإنه طان ل يتشبه يأ الشه

Therefore, fear Allahazwj, O you man, for I have determined upon myself that I will not leave broadcasting this Hadeeth, nor (leave) visiting that place, and would aim for it and revere it, for it is a place to which have come Ibrahimas, and Muhammadsaww, and Jibraeelas, and Mikaeelas. In reality, I will be wishing with regards to coming to it and visiting it, for Abu Husayn narrated to me that Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘The one who sees mesaww in the dream, so it is mesaww he has seen, for the Satanla cannot resemble mesaww’.

هذه الحمقة التي ظهرت منك و بالل لئن بلغني بعد هذا الوقت أنك فقال له موسى إني إنما أمسكت عن إجابة كلمك لستوفيمنك فإني إنما أردت للا تحدثت بهذا لضربن عنقك و عنق هذا الذي جئت به شاهدا علي فقال أبو بكر إذا يمنعني للا و إياه

بما كلمتك به فقال أ تراجعني يا ماص و شتمه فقال اسكت أخزاك للا و قطع لسانك فأرعد موسى على سريره.

Musa said to him, ‘But rather I withheld from answering your speech to fulfil this episode which has appeared from you, and by Allahazwj, if it ever reaches me after this time that you are narrating this, I will strike off your neck, and the neck of this one whom you have come with as a witness with upon me’. So Abu Bakr said, ‘Then, may Allahazwj Defend me and him from you, for I rather intended Allahazwj with what I spoke with’. Are you debating with me?’ And he reviled him. So he said, ‘May Allahazwj Break your body parts and cut off your tongue!’ – and Musa thundered upon his bed.

لقد مر بنا من للسحب و الجر و الضرب ما ظننت أنا ل تكثر الحياء ثم قال خذوه فأخذ الشيخ عن السرير و أخذت أنا فو للاأبدا و كان أشد ما مر بي من ذلك أن رأسي كان يجر على الصخر و كان بعض مواليه يأتيني فينتف لحيتي و موسى يقول

ك اللهم إياك أردنا و لولد نبيك اقتلوهما بني كذا و كذا بالزاني ل يكنى و أبو بكر يقول له أمسك قطع للا لسانك و انتقم من غضبنا و عليك توكلنا

Then he said, ‘Seize him!’ So the Sheykh was seized upon the bed and I was seized. So, by Allahazwj, I suffered from the pulling, and the dropping, and the beatings what I don’t think I would make it alive, ever, and what was the most difficult what occurred with me from that was that my heard was banged upon the rock, and it was so that one of his slaves would come to me and he would pluck my beard. And Musa was saying, ‘Kill them both with such and such adulterer’, and did not teknonym him. And Abu Bakr was saying, ‘Refrain! May Allahazwj Cut your tongue and Take Revenge from you! O Allahazwj! It was Youazwj we intended and for the sonasws of Yourazwj Prophetsaww we are suffering the anger, and upon Youazwj we rely’.

فقال يا فصير بنا جميعا إلى الحبس فما لبثنا في الحبس إل قليل و التفت إلي أبو بكر فرأى ثيابي قد خرقت و سالت دمائي.حماني قد غضبنا لل حقا و اكتسبنا في يومنا هذا أجرا و لن يضيع ذلك عند للا و ل عند رسوله فما لبثنا إل مقدار غذاء و

نومه حتى جاءنا رسوله فأخرجنا إليه و طلب حمار أبي بكر فلم يوجد

So they went with us altogether to the prison. But, we did not say in the prison except for a little, and Abu Bakr turned to me, and he saw my clothes which had been ripped and my blood was flowing. So he said, ‘O Himany! We suffered the anger for the Sake of Allahazwj truly, and we earned a Recompense in this day of ours, and that will never be wasted in the Presence of Allahazwj nor in the Presence of Hisazwj Rasoolsaww’. So we did not remain except for a measurement of feeding and its sleep, until his messenger came to us. So he brought us out to him, and Abu Bakr looked for his donkey but could not find it.

فدخلنا عليه فإذا هو في سرداب له يشبه الدور سعة و كبرا فتعبنا في المشي إليه تعبا شديدا و كان أبو بكر إذا تعب في مشيه ال لنا ل حيا جلس يسيرا ثم يقول اللهم إن هذا فيك فل تنسه فلما دخلنا على موسى و إذا هو على سرير له فحين بصرنا به ق

للا و ل قرب من جاهل أحمق يتعرض لما يكره ويلك يا دعي ما دخولك فيما بيننا معشر بني هاشم

So we went to him and there he was in a basement of his resembling the house, vast and big. So we were exhausted in the walking to him with an intense tiredness, and it was so that Abu Bakr, whenever he was tired in his walking would sit down for a while. Then he was saying, ‘O Allahazwj! This is regarding Youazwj, therefore do not Forget it’. So when we entered to see Musa, and there he was upon a bed of his. When he saw us, he said to us, ‘Neither does Allahazwj Cause to live nor Draw closer the one who is ignorant, an idiot. Turning away due to what Heazwj Dislikes. Woe be unto you, O inviter for what you entered regarding what is between us and the community of the Clan of Hashimas’.

فقال له أبو بكر قد سمعت كلمك و للا حسيبك فقال له اخرج قبحك للا و للا لئن بلغني أن هذا الحديث شاع أو ذكر عنك لضربن عنقك

So Abu Bakr said to him, ‘I have heard your speech, and Allahazwj will Suffice us’. He said to him, ‘Get out! May Allahazwj Distort you. By Allahazwj! If it ever reaches me that this Hadeeth has been publicised, or mentioned from you, I will strike off your neck!’

أن تظهر هذا فإنه إنما خيل لهذا الشيخ الحمق شيطان يلعب في ثم التفت إلي فقال لي يا كلب و شتمني و قال إياك ثم إياك منامه أخرجا عليكما لعنه للا و غضبه فخرجنا و قد يئسنا من الحياة

Then he turned towards me and he said to me, ‘O dog!’, and he reviled me, and said, ‘Beware! Then beware, of manifesting this, for rather there are cavalry horses (to go against) this stupid Sheykh. Satanla plays with him in his sleep. I will bring them out against both of you. May Allahazwj Curse him’. And he was angry upon him, and he exited both of us, and we had despaired from the life.

فلما صرنا إلى منزل الشيخ أبي بكر و هو يمشي و قد ذهب حماره فلما أراد أن يدخل منزله التفت إلي و قال احفظ هذا أهل العقول و الدين الحديث و أثبته عندك و ل تحدثن هؤلء الرعاع و لكن حدث

So when we came to the house of the Sheykh Abu Bakr, and he was walking and his donkey had gone, and he saw that he has entered his house, he turned towards me and said, ‘Preserve this Hadeeth and affirm it with you, and do not narrate to these riffraff, but narrate it to the people of the intellect and the Religion’.41

لأت قال: ن الصه ان بأ يه يري عنأ أبيه عن الره فر الأحمأ ن جعأ بأ د للاه ن عبأ د بأ ثنا محمه حده

It was narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Abdullah Bin Ja’far Al Humeyri, from his father, from Al Rayyan Bin Al Salt who said,

لسه جماعة منأ علماء الأعراق و خر تمع في مجأ و و قد اجأ لس الأمأأمون بمرأ ضا ع مجأ بروني عنأ اسان حضر الر فقال الأمأأمون أخأ نا منأ عبادنا فقالت الأعلماء أراد للاه طفيأ نا الأكتاب الهذين اصأ رثأ ية ثمه أوأ نى هذه الأ ة كلهها فقال الأمأأمون ما معأ مه عزه و جله بذلك الأ

رة اتقول يا أبا الأ عزه و جله بذلك الأعتأ ضا ع ل أقول كما قالوا و لكني أقول أراد للاه اهرة حسن فقال الر لطه

‘Al-Rezaasws attended the gathering of Al-Mamoun at Merv, and he had gathered in his gathering a group of scholars of Al-Iraq and Khurasan. Al-Mamoun said, ‘Inform me about the meaning of this Verse [35:32] Then We Gave the Book as an inheritance to those whom We Chose from among Our servants’. So the scholars said, ‘Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Intends by that the community, all of it’. So Al-Mamoun said, ‘What are youasws saying, ‘O Abu Al-Hassanasws?’ So heasws said: ‘Iasws am saying just as what they are saying, but Iasws am saying, Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Intends by that the clean offspring (of Rasool-Allahsaww)’.

Al-Mamoun said, ‘So how does it Mean the offspring (only) besides the (whole) community?’ Al-Rezaasws said: ‘It is so that if it Meant the community, all of it, they would (all) be gathered in the Paradise due to the Words of Allahazwj Blessed and High [35:32] but from them is he who unjust to his own self, and of them is he who is moderate, and of them is he who is foremost in deeds of goodness by Allah’s Permission; that is the great virtue. Then, all of them would be gathered in the Paradise, so Heazwj Said [35:33] Gardens of Eden, they shall enter therein; they shall be wearing therein bracelets of gold. So it will come to be an inheritance for the clean offspring, not for others’.

Al-Mamoun said, ‘Who are the clean offspring?’ So Al-Rezaasws said: ‘Those whom Allahazwj the Exalted has Described in Hisazwj Book, and the Majestic and Mighty Said [33:33] But rather, Allah Desires to Keep away the uncleanness from you, O people of the House! And to Purify you a with a Purification. And theyasws are those

for whom Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Isaww am leaving behind among you all, two weighty things – the Book of Allahazwj and mysaww offspring, the People of mysaww Household, and these two will never separate until they return to mesaww at the Fountain. Look at how they are opposing mesaww regarding them. O you people! Do not (try to) teach themasws, for theyasws are more knowledgeable than you are!’

نا يا أبا الأحسن عن برأ قال الأعلماء أخأ ل فقالت الأعلماء فهذا رسول للاه ضا ع هم الأ ل؟ فقال الر ر الأ ل أوأ غيأ رة أ هم الأ ص الأعتأك تفاض الهذي ل يمأ حابه يقولون بالأخبر الأمسأ تي آلي و هؤلء أصأ ه قال: أمه ه أنه ثر عنأ ته ن يؤأ د أمه عه آل محمه دفأ

The scholars said, ‘Inform us, O Abu Al-Hassanasws, about the offspring, are they the family or other than the family?’ So Al-Rezaasws said: ‘Theyasws are the family’. So the scholars said, ‘This is Rasool-Allahsaww. There is a Hadeeth from himsaww that hesaww said: ‘Mysaww community is mysaww family, and they are hissaww companions. They are speaking with the goodness. It is widespread, which it is not possible to repel that the family of Muhammadsaww is hissaww community’.

مه م على الأ ل؟ قالوا نعمأ قال فتحره دقة على الأ م الصه بروني هلأ تحره ل و فقال أبو الأحسن ع أخأ ن الأ ق ما بيأ ة قالوا ل قال هذا فرأر كأ تمأ عن الذ هب بكمأ أ ضربأ ن يذأ حكمأ أيأ ة ويأ مه هارة على الأ ه وقعت الأوراثة و الطه تمأ أنه رفون؟ أ ما علمأ م مسأ تمأ قوأ صفأحا أمأ أنأ

So Abu Al-Hassanasws said: ‘Inform me, is the charity Prohibited unto the family?’ They said, ‘Yes’. Heasws said: ‘So, it is Prohibited upon the (whole) community?’ They said, ‘No’. Heasws said: ‘This is the difference what is between the family and the community. Woe be unto you all! Where are you heading? Are you striking (examples) about the Zikr or are you an extravagant people? But, do you not know that the inheritance and the cleanliness occur upon the Chosen ones, the Guided ones, besides the rest of them?’

عزه و جل ل للاه ن يا أبا الأحسن؟ قال منأ قوأ تد و لق قالوا أيأ همأ مهأ ة و الأكتاب فمنأ بوه تهما الن يه راهيم و جعلأنا في ذر سلأنا نوحا و إبأ دأ أرأهمأ فاسقون تدين دون الأفاسقين و كثير منأ ة و الأكتاب للأمهأ بوه فصارتأ وراثة الن

They said, ‘Where (is this from the Quran), O Abu Al-Hassanasws?’ Heasws said: ‘From the Words of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic [57:26] And certainly We sent Nuh and Ibrahim and We Made the Prophet-hood and the Book to be in their offspring; so among them are those who are guided, and most of them are transgressors. Thus, the Guided ones came to be the inheritors of the Prophet-hood and the Book besides the transgressors.

ه عزه و جل تمأ أنه نوحا ع حين سأل ربه كم الأحاكمين فقال أ ما علمأ ت أحأ دك الأحق و أنأ لي و إنه وعأ ني منأ أهأ ؟ و ذلك رب إنه ابأله فقال له ربه جيه و أهأ عزه و جله وعده أنأ ينأ ر صالح فل ت أنه للاه ه عمل غيأ لك إنه س منأ أهأ ه ليأ س لك به علأم إني إنه ئلأن ما ليأ سأ

أعظك أنأ تكون من الأجاهلين

But, do you not know that Noahas, when hesaww asked hisas Lordazwj Mighty and Majestic and heas said [11:45] And Noah cried out to his Lord and said: Lord! Surely my son is of my family, and Your Promise is the Truth, and You are the Judge of the judges? And that is because Allahazwj Mighty and Majestif Promised himas that Heazwj

would Save himas and hisas family. So hisas Lordazwj Said to himas [11:46] He is not from your family; he is (the doer of) other than righteous deeds, therefore do not ask Me of that which you have no knowledge of; I Advise you, lest you may become of the ignorant.

So Al-Mamoun said, ‘Has Allahazwj Merited the offspring over the rest of the people in the Decisive (Verses) of Hisazwj Book?’ Abu Al-Hassanasws said: ‘Certainly Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Clarified the Merits of the offspring over the rest of the people in the Decisive (Verses) of Hisazwj Book’. So Al-Mamoun said, ‘Where is that from the Book of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic?’

له عزه و جل ضا ع في قوأ طفى فقال له الر اصأ ة بعأ إنه للاه يه ران على الأعالمين ذر راهيم و آل عمأ ضها منأ آدم و نوحا و آل إبأض سدون النهاس على بعأ ضع آخر أمأ يحأ مة و و قال عزه و جله في موأ راهيم الأكتاب و الأحكأ نا آل إبأ له فقدأ آتيأ منأ فضأ ما آتاهم للاه

ناهمأ ملأكا عظيما آتيأ

So Al-Rezaasws said to him: ‘In Hisazwj Words, the Mighty and Majestic [3:33] Surely Allah chose Adam and Noah and the Progeny of Ibrahim and the Progeny of Imran above the nations [3:34] Offspring one from the other. And the Mighty and Majestic Said in another place [4:54] Or are they envying the people for what Allah has Given them of His Grace? But indeed We have given to the Progeny of Ibrahim, the Book and the Wisdom, and We have Given them a Grand Kingdom.

منين فقال كمأ ي ثمه رده الأمخاطبة في أثر هذا إلى سائر الأمؤأ ر منأ مأ سول و أولي الأ و أطيعوا الره ها الهذين آمنوا أطيعوا للاه ني ا أي يعأله عزه و جل هما فقوأ مة و حسدوا عليأ فهمأ بالأكتاب و الأحكأ سدون النهاس على الهذين عره أمأ يحأ نا آل ما آتاهم للاه له فقدأ آتيأ منأ فضأ

اهرين فالأم ن الطه طفيأ اعة للأمصأ ني الطه ناهمأ ملأكا عظيما يعأ مة و آتيأ راهيم الأكتاب و الأحكأ اعة لهمأ إبأ لأك هاهنا هو الطه

Then Heazwj Returned to Address in the follow up of this to the rest of the Momineen, so Heazwj Said [4:59] O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Rasool and those in authority from among you, Meaning those whom Heazwj had Acquainted with the Book and the wisdom, and they had been envied upon. Thus, Hisazwj Words, the Mighty and Majestic, [4:54] Or are they envying the people for what Allah has Given them of His Grace? But indeed We have given to the Progeny of Ibrahim, the Book and the Wisdom, and We have Given them a Grand Kingdom. Means the obedience to the Chosen ones, the clean ones. Therefore, the kingdom over here, it is the obedience to themasws’.

ر ا ضا فسه طفاء في كتابه فقال الر عزه و جله الصأ ر للاه نا هلأ فسه برأ نيأ قالت الأعلماء فأخأ اهر سوى الأباطن في اثأ طفاء في الظه لصأله عزه و جل ل ذلك قوأ ضعا فأوه طنا و موأ ربين و عشر موأ قأ ذرأ عشيرتك الأ ب و أنأ لصين هكذا في قراءة أبي و كعأ طك الأمخأ و رهأ

ل عظيم و شرف عال ح زلة رفيعة و فضأ عود و هذه منأ ن مسأ بأ د للاه حف عبأ بذل هي ثابتة في مصأ ل فذكره ين عنى للاه ك الأ ص فهذه واحدة لرسول للاه

The scholars said, ‘Inform us, has Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic explained the Choosing in Hisazwj Book?’ So Al-Rezaasws said: ‘The Choosing is explained in the apparent,

besides the hidden, in twelve places and subjects. The first of that are Hisazwj Words, the Mighty and Majestic [26:214] And warn your nearest relations and your group of sincere ones’. This is how it was in the recitation of myasws fatherasws and Ka’ab, and it is proven in the Parchment of Abdullah Bin Mas’ud, and this is its stature, and great merit, and high nobility, where Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic has Meant the Progenyasws. So Heazwj Mentioned it for Rasool-Allahsaww’. So this is one.

له عزه و جل طفاء قوأ انية في الصأ ية الثه ل و الأ هيرا و هذا الأفضأ ركمأ تطأ ت و يطه ل الأبيأ س أهأ جأ كم الر هب عنأ ليذأ إنهما يريد للاهل ه فضأ هله أحد إله معاند ضال لنه انية الهذي ل يجأ تظر فيها فهذه الثه د طهارة ينأ بعأ

And the second Verse regarding the Choosing are the Words of the Mighty and Majestic [33:33] But rather, Allah Desires to Keep away the uncleanness from you, O people of the House! And to Purify you a with a Purification. And this is the merit which no one is ignorant of except for an obstinate strayer, because it is a merit after the cleansing awaiting therein. So this is the second.

اهرين الطه الثة فحين ميهز للاه ا الثه د و أمه تهال فقال عزه و جله قلأ يا محمه فمنأ منأ خلأقه فأمر نبيهه ص بالأمباهلة بهمأ في آية البأناءكمأ و نساءنا و نساء ناءنا و أبأ ع أبأ ا ندأ د ما جاءك من الأعلأم فقلأ تعالوأ ك فيه منأ بعأ علأ حاجه تهلأ فنجأ فسكمأ ثمه نبأ فسنا و أنأ كمأ و أنأ

على الأكاذبين نت للاه رز النهبي ص عليا و الأحسن لعأ له فأبأ نى قوأ رون ما معأ سه فهلأ تدأ فسهمأ بنفأ ن و فاطمة و قرن أنأ و الأحسيأفسكمأ تعالى فسنا و أنأ و أنأ

And as for the third, so when Allahazwj Distinguished the clean ones from Hisazwj creatuers, Heazwj Commanded Hisazwj Prophetsaww with the imprecation by themasws in the Verse of the Imprecation. So the Mighty and the Majestic Said [3:61] But whoever argues with you in this matter after what has come to you from the Knowledge, then say: Come, let us call our sons and your sons and our women and your women and ourselves and yourselves, then let us invoke and make the Curse of Allah to be upon the liars. So the Prophetsaww brought forward Aliasws, and Al-Hassanasws, and Al-Husaynasws, and (Syeda) Fatimaasws, and paired theirasws selves with himselfsaww. So are you knowing what is the Meaning of Hisazwj Words, the Exalted ourselves and yourselves?’

ن أبي طالب ما عنى بها عليه بأ تمأ إنه سه فقال أبو الأحسن ع غلطأ ل النهبي ص قالت الأعلماء عنى به نفأ ا يدل على ذلك قوأ ع و ممههمأ رج عثنه إليأ تهينه بنو وليعة أوأ لبأ ن و عنى حين قال لتنأ ناء الأحسن و الأحسيأ بأ ن أبي طالب و عنى بالأ ني عليه بأ ل كنفأسي يعأ

ل ل يلأحقهمأ فيه بشر و ش مهمأ فيها أحد و فضأ ة ل يتقده ساء فاطمة ع فهذه خصوصيه بقهمأ بالن ه خلأق إنأ جعل نفأس رف ل يسأ إليأالثة سه فهذه الثه علي كنفأ

The scholars said, ‘It Means by it, himselfsaww’. So Abu Al-Hassanasws said: ‘You are wrong. But rather is Means by it, Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws, and from what indicates upon that are the words of the Prophetsaww where hesaww said: ‘Isaww shall finish them, the Clan of Waliyya, or Isaww shall send to them a man like myselfsaww, meaning Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws. And it Means by the ‘sons’, Al-Hassanasws and Al-Husaynasws, and it Means by ‘the women’, Fatimaasws. Thus, this is the speciality no one has preceded themasws to, and a merit no mortal is joined with them in it, and a nobility no creature has preceded themasws to, that hesaww made the self of Aliasws like hissaww own self. So this is the third.

And as for the fourth, so hesaww exited the people from hissaww Masjid apart from the offspring, to the extent that the people talked regarding that, and Al-Abbas spoke and he said, ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! Yousaww left Aliasws and exited us?’ So Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘It was not Isaww who left himasws and exited you all, but Allahazwj Left himasws and Exited you all’. And in this is the explanation of hissaww words to Aliasws: ‘Youasws are from mesaww at the status of Harounas from Musaas’’.

آن قال أبو الأحسن أوج ن هذا من الأقرأ عزه و جل قالت الأعلماء فأيأ ل للاه كمأ قالوا هات قال قوأ رؤه عليأ آنا أقأ نا دكمأ في ذلك قرأ حيأ و أوأزلة ه موسى إلى ية منأ لة ففي هذه الأ علوا بيوتكمأ قبأ ر بيوتا و اجأ مكما بمصأ ءا لقوأ ن منأ موسى و فيها أيأضا اروو أخيه أنأ تبوه

زلة هارون و مع هذا دليل ظاهر في ق ت مني بمنأ ص حين قال أنأ زلة علي منأ رسول للاه ص حين قال إله أنه منأ ل رسول للاه وأجد ل يحل لجنب إله لم د و آله هذا الأمسأ حمه

The scholars said, ‘So where is this from the Quran?’ Abu Al-Hassanasws said: ‘You will find this in the Quran. I shall recite it upon you all’. They said, ‘Give!’ Heasws said: ‘The Words of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic [10:87] And We Revealed unto Musa and his brother, saying: Provide for your people houses to abide in Egypt and make your (own) houses as a Qiblah (Direction). So in this Verse is a status of Harounas from Musaas, and therein as well is a status of Aliasws from Rasool-Allahsaww where hesaww said: ‘Youasws are from mesaww at the status of Harounsaww’, and along with this is an apparent evidence in the words of Rasool-Allahsaww where hesaww said: ‘Except that this Masjid, there is no Permission for one with sexual impurity, except for Muhammadsaww and hissaww Progenyasws’’.

ت رسول للاه ل بيأ دكمأ أهأ و هذا الأبيان ل يوجد عنأ كر لنا ذلك و قالت الأعلماء يا أبا الأحسن هذا الشهرأ قال أبو الأحسن و منأ ينأ ي ض رسول للاه مة و علي بابها فمنأ أراد الأمدينة فلأيأأتها منأ بابها ففيما أوأ ل و الشهرف قول أنا مدينة الأحكأ ناه من الأفضأ ناه و شرحأ حأ

كره معاند و هارة ما ل ينأ طفاء و الطه دمة و الصأ قأ ابعة و الته د على ذلك فهذه الره عزه و جله الأحمأ لله

The scholars said, ‘O Abu Al-Hassanasws! This commentary this statement is not found with you all, the Peopleasws of the Household of Rasool-Allahsaww’. Abu Al Hassanasws said: ‘And who can deny that to usasws, and Rasool-Allahsaww is saying: ‘Isaww am the city of Wisdom and Aliasws is its gate’?’ Therefore, the one who intends the city, so let him come to it from its gate. From among what Iasws have clarified it, and commented on it from the merits, and the nobility, and the precedence, and the Choosing, and the cleanness what (even) an obstinate one cannot deny it. And for Allahazwj is the Praise upon that. So this is the fourth’.

ل للاه ا الأخامسة قوأ بى عزه و جل و أمه ة حقهه و آت ذا الأقرأ مه طفاهمأ على الأ ار بها و اصأ تعالى الأعزيز الأجبه هم للاه ة خصه خصوصيهعوا لي فاطمة فدعيتأ له فقال قال ادأ ية على رسول للاه ا نزلتأ هذه الأ ك يا رسول للاه فلمه يأ يا فاطمة قالتأ لبه

And as for the fifth, the Words of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic [17:26] And give to the near of kin his due in particular. Allahazwj, the Exalted, the Mighty, the Compeller Particularised themasws with it and Chose them over the community. So when this Verse

was Revealed upon Rasool-Allahsaww, hesaww said: ‘Call Fatimaasws for mesaww’. So sheasws was called for himsaww and hesaww said: ‘O Fatimaasws!’ Sheasws said: ‘Here Iasws am, O Rasool-Allahsaww!’

ل و ل ركاب ه ب خيأ ا لنأ يوجف عليأ فقال ص هذه فدك هي ممه لمين و قدأ جعلأتها لك كما أمرني للاه ة دون الأمسأ و هي لي خاصه فخذيها لك و لولأدك فهذه الأخامسة

Hesaww said: ‘This here is (Estate of) Fadak. It is from what a battle was never fought upon with the cavalry horses, nor camels, and it is for mesaww exclusively without any share for the Muslims, and Isaww have made it to be for youasws just as Allahazwj the High Commanded mesaww for it. Therefore, take it for yourselfasws and yourasws childrenasws’. So this is the fifth.

عزه و جل ل للاه ادسة قوأ ية السه بى و الأ ة في الأقرأ را إله الأموده ه أجأ ئلكمأ عليأ ة قلأ ل أسأ م الأقيامة و و هذه خصوصيه للنهبي ص إلى يوأ ع في كتابه ر نو حكى في ذكأ رهمأ و ذلك أنه للاه ل دون غيأ ة للأ و خصوصيه ه مال إنأ أجري إله على للاه ئلكمأ عليأ م ل أسأ يا قوأ

هلون ما أنا بطارد الهذين آمن ما تجأ همأ و لكني أراكمأ قوأ همأ ملقوا رب وا إنه

And the sixth Verse are the Words of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic [42:23] Say: I do not ask of you any reward for it but love for my near relatives. And this is especially for the Prophetsaww up to the Day of Judgment and especially for the Progenyasws besides the others, and that is because Allahazwj Related in the Mention of Noahas in Hisazwj Book [11:29] And, O people! I do not ask you for wealth in return for it; my Recompense is upon Allah and I am not going to drive away those who believe; they shall meet their Lord, but I see you as a people who are ignorant.

ه قال ري إله على الهذي و حكى عزه و جله عنأ هود ع أنه را إنأ أجأ ه أجأ ئلكمأ عليأ قلون ل أسأ ه فطرني أ فل تعأ و قال عزه و جله لنبيبى قلأ ص ة في الأقرأ را إله الأموده ه أجأ ئلكمأ عليأ د ل أسأ ون عن الد يا محمه تد همأ ل يرأ تهمأ إله و قدأ علم أنه موده رض للاه ين و ل و لمأ يفأ

جعون إلى ضلل أبدا يرأ

And the Mighty and Majestic Related about Hudas that heas said [11:51] O people! I do not ask of you any Recompense for it; my Recompense is only with Him Who Originated me; do you not then understand? And the Mighty and Majestic Said to Hisazwj Prophetsaww [42:23] Say: O Muhammadsaww! I do not ask of you any Recompense for it except for the cordiality for my near relatives. And Allahazwj did not Impose theirasws cordiality except and Heazwj had Known that theyasws will not be reneging from the Religion nor would theyasws be returning to the straying, ever!

جل فأحبه لم قلأب الره ض عدوا له فل يسأ جل فيكون بعأ جل وادا للره رى أنأ يكون الره عزه و جله و أخأ أنأ ل يكون في قلأب للاهمنين شيأ ص على الأمؤأ ته رسول للاه ل بيأ ص و أحبه أهأ بى فمنأ أخذ بها و أحبه رسول للاه ة ذوي الأقرأ همأ موده لمأ ء ففرض عليأ

غضه و منأ ت أنأ يبأ تطعأ رسول للاه ه ترك فريضة يسأ غضه لنه أنأ يبأ ته فعلى رسول للاه ل بيأ غض أهأ منأ ركها و لمأ يأأخذأ بها و أبأ فرائض للاه

And another is that the man cannot happen to be cordial to the man and he happens to be partly inimical to him, so the heart of the man does not submit. So Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Loved that there should not happen to be in the heart of Rasool-Allahsaww anything against the Momineen, and Heazwj Imposed upon them the cordiality of near

relatives. Thus, the one who takes with it and loves Rasool-Allahsaww and loves the Peopleasws of hissaww Household, there would not be a capacity for Rasool-Allahsaww to hate him; and the one who leaves it and does not take with it and hates the Peopleasws of hissaww Household, so it is upon Rasool-Allahsaww that hesaww hates him, because he neglected an Obligation from the Obligations of Allahazwj.

ية على نبيه ص هذه الأ زل للاه م هذا أوأ يدانيه فأنأ بىق فأي فضيلة و أي شرف يتقده ة في الأقرأ را إله الأموده ه أجأ ئلكمأ عليأ فقام لأ ل أسأ قدأ فرض ها النهاس إنه للاه ه و قال يا أي نى عليأ و أثأ حابه فحمد للاه في أصأ وه؟ رسول للاه تمأ مؤد ضا فهلأ أنأ كمأ فرأ ه لي عليأ فلمأ يجبأ

روب فقالوا هات إذ ة و ل مأأكول و ل مشأ س بذهب و ل فضه ه ليأ اس إنه ها النه ا هذا فنعمأ أحد فقال أي ية فقالوا أمه همأ هذه الأ ا فتل عليأثرهمأ فما وفى بها أكأ

So which merit and which nobility can precede this or come near it. Therefore, Allahazwj Revealed this Verse upon Hisazwj Prophetsaww [42:23] Say: I do not ask of you any Recompense for it except for the cordiality for my near relatives. So Rasool-Allahsaww stood among hissaww companion, and hesaww Praised Allahazwj and Lauded upon Himazwj and said: ‘O you people! Allahazwj has Necessitated for mesaww an Obligation upon you all, so would you perform it?’ But no one answered himsaww. So hesaww said: O you people! It isn’t to be with the gold nor silver nor foodstuff nor drinks’. So they said, ‘Give!’ When hesaww recited this Verse to them, they said, ‘As for this, so yes’. But, most of them were not loyal with it.

ح عزه و جله نبيا إله أوأ و ما بعث للاه د ص فرض للاه بياء و محمه نأ ر الأ يوفيه أجأ را إله أنه للاه مه أجأ أل قوأ ه أنأ ل يسأ عزه و ى إليأوه في قرابته ره فيهمأ ليؤد عل أجأ ته و أمره أنأ يجأ ة قرابته على أمه عزه و جله لهمأ فإنه جله موده لهم الهذي أحبه للاه رفة فضأ بمعأ

ل رفة الأفضأ ر معأ ما تكون على قدأ ة إنه الأموده

And Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic did not Send a Prophetsaww except Heazwj Revealed unto himas that heas should not ask hisas people for a recompense except that Allahazwj would be Fulfilling the Recompense of the Prophetsas. And (as for) Muhammadsaww, Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Necessitated the cordiality of hissaww relatives upon hissaww community and Commanded himsaww that hesaww makes hissaww recompense among them that should be cordial regarding hissaww relatives by recognition of theirasws merits which Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic had Gifted to themasws, for the cordiality rather, would happen to be in accordance of the recognition of the merits.

ميثاقهمأ عل م أخذ للاه ك بها قوأ اعة فتمسه ذلك ثقل لثقل وجوب الطه جب للاه ا أوأ فاق و الأحسد و فلمه قاق و الن ل الش ى الأوفاء و عاند أهأوته ف ألأحدوا في ل دعأ فقالوا الأقرابة هم الأعرب كلها و أهأ ه للاه ه الهذي حده نا أنه ذلك فصرفوه عنأ حد ن كان فقدأ علمأ على أي الأحالتيأ

لهمأ ب ربهمأ من النهبي ص أوأ ة للأقرابة فأقأ ة الأموده رها الأموده ة على قدأ و كلهما قربت الأقرابة كانت الأموده

So when Allahazwj Obligated that weight of the heaviness of the Obligation of the obedience, so a people attached with it. Allahazwj Took their Covenant upon the loyalty, and the people of wretchedness and hypocrisy and the envy were obstinate and they limited regarding that. So they left from its limits which Allahazwj had Limited it and they said, ‘The relatives? They are the Arabs, all of them, and the people of hissaww calling (converts). So upon which two states would it be?’ So they had know that the cordiality is for the relatives, and the closest of them from the Prophetsaww would be the most

preferential of them with the cordiality, and everyone who was closer with the closeness, the cordiality would be upon its measurement.

جزه ا تعأ ته ممه به على أمه ص ص في حيطته و رأأفته و ما منه للاه صفوا نبيه للاه ه أنأ ل ما أنأ ر عليأ ف الشكأ لأسن عنأ وصأ الأذوه في أأس حفأظا لرسول للاه يؤأ ن من الره زلة الأعيأ همأ كمنأ علوهمأ منأ ته و أنأ يجأ ل بيأ ته و أهأ يه و حبا لبنيه ذر

And they did not do justice to the Prophetsaww of Allahazwj regarding hissaww care and hissaww kindness, and whatever Allahazwj had Favoured with upon hissaww community, from what the tongues are frustrated from describing the gratefulness upon, that they should not be hurting himsaww with regards to hissaww offspring and the Peoplesaww of hissaww Household, and that they should make themasws from them at the status of the eyes from the head, preserving to Rasool-Allahsaww and love for Hisazwj Prophetsaww.

بار ثابتة بأنهه خأ ه و الأ عو إليأ طق به و يدأ آن ينأ ف و الأقرأ ها فما و فكيأ تهمأ و وعد الأجزاء عليأ موده ة و الهذين فرض للاه ل الأموده مأ أهأل ة لقوأ جب الأجنه توأ لصا إله اسأ منا مخأ ة ل يأأتي بها أحد مؤأ عزه و جله في ه وفى أحد بها فهذه الأموده ية و الهذين آمنوا و للاه ذه الأ

ل الأكبير همأ ذلك هو الأفضأ د رب ات لهمأ ما يشاؤن عنأ ضات الأجنه الحات في روأ عملوا الصه

And how could they, and the Quran is speaking with it and calling towards it, and the Ahadeeth are affirming that theyasws are the peopleasws of the cordiality, and those whose cordiality Allahazwj has Necessitated and Promised the Recompense upon it. But no one was loyal with it. Thus, this is the cordiality, no Momin would come with it sincerely except Allahazwj would Obligated the Paradise (for it) due to the Words of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic in this Verse [42:22] and those who believe and do righteous deeds shall be in the Gardens of the Paradise; they shall have whatever they desire in the Presence of their Lord: that is the Great Grace.

را إله ه أجأ ئلكمأ عليأ الحات قلأ ل أسأ عباده الهذين آمنوا و عملوا الصه بىذلك الهذي يبشر للاه ة في الأقرأ نا الأموده را و مبي مفس

That is what Allahazwj is Giving the glad tidings of to Hisazwj servant who are believing and doing righteous deeds [42:23] Say: I do not ask of you any Recompense for it except for the cordiality for my near relatives, explained and clarified’.

صار إلى رسول للاه ثمه قال أبو الأحسن ع نأ تمع الأمهاجرون و الأ ن علي ع قال اجأ ن بأ ي عن الأحسيأ ثني أبي عنأ جد ص فقالوا حدهوالن مئونة في نفقتك و فيمنأ يأأتيك من الأوفود و هذه أمأ ت و إنه لك يا رسول للاه ط ما شئأ كمأ فيها بارا مأأجورا أعأ ا مع دمائكمأ فاحأ

ر حرج ت منأ غيأ سكأ ما شئأ أمأ

Then Abu Al-Hassanasws said: ‘Myasws fatherasws narrated to measws from myasws grandfatherasws, from Al-Husaynasws Bin Aliasws having said: ‘The Emigrants and the Helpers gathered to Rasool-Allahsaww and they said, ‘For yousaww, O Rasool-Allahsaww for you there is a provision regarding yoursaww expenses, and regarding the ones who come to yousaww from the delegation, and this here is our wealth with our blood. So decide righteously with regards to it as a recompense. We would give whatever yousaww so desire and withhold whatever yousaww so desire, from without any objection’.

ه الر عزه و جله عليأ زل للاه بىقال فأنأ ة في الأقرأ را إله الأموده ه أجأ ئلكمأ عليأ د قلأ ل أسأ مين فقال يا محمه الأ وا قرابتي و ني أنأ يود يعأه إ نا عليأ ك ما عرضأ على ترأ دي فخرجوا فقال الأمنافقون ما حمل رسول للاه ده إنأ هو إله شيأ منأ بعأ نا على قرابته منأ بعأ ء له ليحثه

لهمأ عظيما لسه و كان ذلك منأ قوأ ه في مجأ أقره

Heasws said: ‘So Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Caused the Trustworthy Spirit to descend unto himasws, and heas said: ‘O Muhammadsaww! [42:23] Say: I do not ask of you any Recompense for it except for the cordiality for my near relatives – meaning, ‘You should be cordial to mysaww relatives from after mesaww’. So they went out, and the hypocrites said, ‘Nothing carried Rasool-Allahsaww upon neglecting what we presented to himsaww except urging us upon hissaww relatives from after himsaww, it is only a thing to be accepted in hissaww gathering’. And that was grievous (to Rasool-Allahsaww) from their words.

زل للاه لكون لي م فأنأ ته فل تمأ تريأ تراه قلأ إن افأ ية أمأ يقولون افأ رئيل ع بهذه الأ لم بما تفيضون فيه عزه و جله جبأ ئا هو أعأ شيأ ن للاهحيم كفى نكمأ و هو الأغفور الره ني و بيأ لقدأ قال ف به شهيدا بيأ يا رسول للاه هم النهبيه ص فقال هلأ منأ حدث فقالوا إي و للاه بعث إليأ

تده بكاؤهمأ ا و اشأ ية فبكوأ ص الأ همأ رسول للاه ناه فتل عليأ ضنا كلما غليظا كرهأ عزه بعأ زل للاه بة و جل فأنأ بل التهوأ و هو الهذي يقأعلون لم ما تفأ يئات و يعأ فوا عن السه ادسة عنأ عباده و يعأ فهذه السه

So Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Send down Jibraeelas with this Verse [46:8] Or they say: He has forged it. Say: If I have forged it, you do not control anything for me from Allah; He Knows best what you utter concerning it; He is Sufficient as a Witness between me and you, and He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. So the Prophetsaww sent a message to them and hesaww said: ‘Has anything new occurred?’ They said, ‘Yes, by Allahazwj, O Rasool-Allahsaww! Some of us have said a serious speech. We abhorred it’. So Rasool-Allahsaww recited at that the Verse, and they cried, and their crying intensified. So Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Revealed [42:25] And He it is Who Accepts repentance from His servants and Pardons the evil deeds and He knows what you are doing. So this is the sixth.

تعالى ل للاه ابعة فقوأ ية السه ا الأ و ملئكته و أمه ليما و قدأ علم إنه للاه ه و سلموا تسأ ها الهذين آمنوا صلوا عليأ يصلون على النهبي يا أيا نزلتأ هذه ه لمه همأ أنه ف الصه الأمعاندون منأ ك و كيأ ليم عليأ نا التهسأ قدأ عرفأ ية قيل يا رسول للاه لة قال تقولون اللههمه صل على الأ

نكمأ م راهيم إنهك حميد مجيد فهلأ بيأ راهيم و آل إبأ ت على إبأ د كما صلهيأ د و آل محمه لمين في هذا خلف؟ فقالوا ل محمه عاشر الأمسأ

And as for the seventh Verse, so Allahazwj the Exalted is Saying [33:56] Surely Allah and His Angels are Sending Blessings upon the Prophet; O you who believe! Send blessings upon him and submit to him with a (complete) submission. And the obstinate ones from them had known that when this Verse was Revealed, it was said, ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! We have recognised the submission to yousaww, and how is the Blessings (to be sent)?’ Hesaww said: ‘You should be saying, ‘O Allahazwj! Send Blessings upon Muhammadsaww and the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww just as Youazwj Sent Blessings upon Ibrahimas and the Progeny of Ibrahimas, Youazwj being the Praise-worthy, the Glorified’. Group of Muslims! So is there any differing between you all regarding this?’ They said, ‘No’.

ل شيأ قال الأمأأمون هذا دك في الأ ة فهلأ عنأ مه ماع الأ ه إجأ ل و عليأ آن قال أبو الأحسن ما ل خلف فيه أصأ ضح منأ هذا في الأقرأ ء أوأ عزه و جل ل للاه بروني عنأ قوأ آن الأحكيم إنهك لمن ع نعمأ أخأ سلين علىيس و الأقرأ تقيم الأمرأ له صراط مسأ قالت يس فمنأ عنى بقوأ

د ص لمأ يشكه فيه أحد الأعلماء يس محمه

Al-Mamoun said, ‘This is what there is no differing in it, originally, and upon it is the consensus of the community. Is there with youasws anything clearer than this in the Quran?’ Abu Al-Hassanasws said: ‘Yes. Inform me about the Words of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic [36:1] Ya Seen [36:2] I swear by the Wise Quran [36:3] Most surely you are one of the Rasools [36:4] Upon a Straight Path. So who is Meant by Hisazwj Word ‘Ya Saeen’?’ The scholars said, ‘Ya Seen is Muhammadsaww. No one has doubts in it’.

لغ أحد ل ل يبأ د منأ ذلك فضأ دا و آل محمه طى محمه أعأ لمأ يسلمأ قال أبو الأحسن ع فإنه للاه فه إله منأ عقله و ذلك أنه للاه هه و وصأ كنأبياء ع فقال تبارك و تعالى نأ في الأعالمين سلم على على أحد إله على الأ راهيم سلم على و قال نو موسى سلم على و قال إبأ

د ص و هارون ني آل محمه و لمأ يقلأ سلم على آل موسى و هارون و قال سلم على آل يس يعأ

Abu Al-Hassanasws said: ‘Allahazwj Gave Muhammadsaww and the Progenyasws of Muhammadasws certain merits from that no one can reach hissaww nature and hissaww description except the one who has the ‘Aql’ (pious wisdom). And that is because Allahazwj did not Greet upon anyone except upon Hisazwj Prophetsas. So the Blessed and High Said [37:79] Greetings upon Nuh among the nations. And Said [37:109] Greetings be upon Ibrahim. And Said [37:120] Greetings be on Musa and Haroun. And did not Say: “Greetings be upon the Progeny of Musaas and Harounas, and Said [37:130] Greetings be on Progeny of Yaseen – Meaning the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww’.

ابعة هذا و بيانه فهذه السه ة شرأ بوه دن الن ت أنه في معأ فقال الأمأأمون قدأ علمأ

Al-Mamoun said, ‘I have known that in the mine of Prophet-hood, there is an explanation of this and its declaration’. (Al-Rezaasws said): ‘So this is the seventh.

عزه و جل ل للاه امنة فقوأ ا الثه تمأ منأ شيأ و أمه لموا أنهما غنمأ بى و اعأ سول و لذي الأقرأ خمسه و للره بى ء فأنه لله م ذي الأقرأ فقرن سهأم رس مه و سهأ ر و جعل النهاس ف مع سهأ تعالى جعلهمأ في خيأ ة لنه للاه مه ل و الأ ن الأ ل أيأضا بيأ ر دون ذلك و وله فهذا فضأ ي خيأ

سه ثمه برسوله ثمه ب طفاهمأ فيه فبدأ بنفأ سه و اصأ بىرضي لهمأ بما رضي لنفأ ذي الأقرأ

And as for the eighth, so Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic is Saying [8:41] And know that whatever booty you gain, a fifth of it is for Allah and for the Rasool and for the near of kin. Thus Heazwj Paired the portion of the relatives with Hisazwj Portion and the portion of Hisazwj Rasoolsaww. So this is a merit as well between the Progenyasws and the people, because Allahazwj Exalted Made themasws to be in goodness and Made the people to be in goodness besides that, and was Pleased for themasws what Heazwj was Pleased for Himself, and Chose themasws with regards to it. So Heazwj Began with Himselfazwj, then with Hisazwj Rasoolas, then with the relatives.

ا رضيه جله و فكل ما كان من الأفيأ ر ذلك ممه له الأحق ء و الأغنيمة و غيأ سه فرضيه لهمأ فقال و قوأ تمأ منأ عزه لنفأ لموا أنهما غنمأ و اعأبى شيأ سول و لذي الأقرأ خمسه و للره م الأقيامة في كت ء فأنه لله د و أثر قائم لهمأ إلى يوأ اطق الهذيفهذا تأأكيد مؤكه النه ل يأأتيه اب للاه

زيل منأ حكيم حميد ه و ل منأ خلأفه تنأ ن يديأ الأباطل منأ بيأ

Therefore, everything which was from Al-Fey and the booty and other than that from what the Majestic and Mighty is Pleased for Himselfazwj, Necessitated for them. So Heazwj Said and Hisazwj Word is the Truth [8:41] And know that whatever booty you gain, a fifth of it is for Allah and for the Rasool and for the near of kin. This is an emphatic confirmation, and an impact established for them up to the Day of Judgment in the Speaking Book of Allahazwj which [41:42] Falsehood has not come to it from before it nor from after it; a Revelation from the Wise, the Praised One.

له ا قوأ مه ف و الأمساكين و الأيتامى و أمه قطع قيمة سهمه ]يتأ [ خرج من الأغنائم و لمأ يكنأ له فيها نصيب و كذلك إنه الأيتيم إذا انأم ذ ذه و سهأ نم و ل يحل له أخأ كنته لمأ يكنأ له نصيب من الأمغأ قطع مسأ كين إذا انأ م الأقيامة قائم فيهمأ للأغني و ي الأ الأمسأ بى إلى يوأ قرأ

عزه و جله و ل منأ رسوله ص نى من للاه ه ل أحد أغأ همأ لنه الأفقير منأ

And as for Hisazwj Words [8:41] and the orphans and the needy, so the orphan is when the amount of his share is cut off (when his orphan-hood is cut off), he is exited from the war booty and there would not happen to be a share for him in it, and similar to that is the need, when his neediness is cut off, there would not happen to be a share for him from the war booty, nor would it be Permissible for him to take it, and the share of the near relatives is up to the Day of Judgment, established regarding them, for the rich and the poor from them, because there is no one richer than Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic, nor (richer) than Hisazwj Rasoolsaww.

سه و لرسوله ما فما رضيه لنفأ ها و لرسوله سهأ ما منأ سه سهأ ه رضيه لهمأ و كذلك الأفيأ فجعل لنفأ سه و لنبي ه لنفأ ء ما رضيه منأسه جله جلله ثمه برسوله ثمه بهمأ و قرن س رضيه لذي راهمأ في الأغنيمة فبدأ بنفأ بى كما أجأ م رسوله الأقرأ و سهأ م للاه مه بسهأ هأ

So Heazwj Made a share for Himselfazwj from it and a share for Hisazwj Rasoolsaww. Whatever Heazwj was Pleased for Himselfazwj, and for Hisazwj Rasoolsaww, Heazwj was Pleased for themasws. And similar to that is Al-Fey. Whatever Heazwj was Pleased from it for Himselfazwj and for Hisazwj Prophetsaww, Heazwj was Pleased for the near relatives, just as Heazwj Informed them regarding the booty. So Heazwj Began with Himselfazwj, Majestic is Hisazwj Majesty, then with Hisazwj Rasoolsaww, then with themasws, and theirasws share is Paired with the Share of Allahazwj and the share of Hisazwj Rasoolsaww.

اعة قال كمأ كذلك في الطه ر منأ مأ سول و أولي الأ و أطيعوا الره ها الهذين آمنوا أطيعوا للاه ل يا أي سه ثمه برسوله ثمه بأهأ ل بنفأ فبدأ قبأ كم للاه ته و كذلك آية الأولية إنهما ولي رونة بطاعته كما جعل بيأ سول مقأ و رسوله و الهذين آمنوا فجعل وليتهمأ مع طاعة الره

مه في الأغنيمة و الأفيأ رونا بسهأ سول مقأ م الره مهمأ مع سهأ ء سهأ

Similar to that is the obedience. Heazwj Said [4:59] O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Rasool and those with Divine authority from among you. Heazwj Began with Himselfazwj before, then with Hisazwj Rasoolsaww, then with the Peopleasws of hissaww Household. And similar to that is the Verse of the Wilayah [5:55] But rather, only Allah is your Guardian and His Rasool and those who believe. So Heazwj Made theirasws Wilayah with the obedience to the Rasoolsaww, being paired with Hisazwj

obedience, just as Heazwj Made theirasws share with the share of the Rasoolsaww paired with Hisazwj Share in the booty and Al-Fey.

دقة نزه ة الصه ا جاءتأ قصه ت فلمه ل هذا الأبيأ مته على أهأ ظم نعأ و تعالى ما أعأ ته فقال فتبارك للاه ل بيأ ه أهأ ما ه رسوله و نزه إنهقاب و الأغارم ها و الأمؤلهفة قلوبهمأ و في الر دقات للأفقراء و الأمساكين و الأعاملين عليأ بيل فريضة الصه ن السه و ابأ ين و في سبيل للاه

So the Blessed and High, how great is Hisazwj Bounty upon the Peopleasws of this Household. So when the story of the charity came, Heazwj Removed Hisazwj Rasoolsaww and Removed the Peopleasws of hissaww Household, and Heazwj Said [9:60] But rather, the charities are only for the poor and the needy, and the officials (appointed) over them, and those whose hearts are made to incline (to Truth) and the (ransoming of) captives and those in debts and in the Way of Allah and the wayfarer; an Ordinance from Allah; and Allah is Knowing, Wise.

ه ن ء م فهلأ تجد في شيأ ا نزه ه لمه بى لنه سه أوأ لرسوله أوأ لذي الأقرأ ما لنفأ ه جعل عزه و جله سهأ ه نأ ذلك أنه دقة و نزه سه عن الصه فأمة ع دقة محره همأ لنه الصه م عليأ ته ل بلأ حره ل بيأ ه أهأ همأ طهروا منأ رسوله نزه ساخ النهاس ل تحل لهمأ لنه د و آله و هي أوأ لى محمه

سه و كره لهمأ ما طفاهمأ رضي لهمأ ما رضي لنفأ و اصأ رهم للاه ا طهه سه عزه و جله ف كل دنس و وسخ فلمه امنة كره لنفأ هذه الثه

So, can you find in anything from that, that the Mighty and Majestic Made a Share to be for Himselfazwj, or for Hisazwj Rasoolsaww, or for the relatives? Because, when Heazwj Removed Himselfazwj from the Charity, and Removed Hisazwj Rasoolsaww, (also) Removed the Peopleasws of hissaww Household. No! But, Heazwj Prohibited pon themasws, because the charity is Prohibited upon Muhammadsaww and the hissaww Progenyasws, and it is the dirt of the people. It is not Permissible for themasws because theyasws are clean from every filth and grime. So when Allahazwj Cleaned themasws and Chose themasws, was Pleased for themasws what Heazwj was Pleased for Himselfazwj, and Disliked for themasws whatever Heazwj Disliked for Himselfazwj, Mighty and Majestic. So this is the eighth.

كم كتابه تعالى في محأ ر الهذين قال للاه كأ ل الذ ن أهأ اسعة فنحأ ا الته لمون و أمه تمأ ل تعأ ر إنأ كنأ كأ ل الذ ئلوا أهأ ر فسأ كأ ل الذ ن أهأ فنحأتمأ ل ت ألونا إنأ كنأ لمون فاسأ عأ

And, as for the ninth, so weasws are the Peopleasws of the Reminder (Ahl Al-Zikr) whom Allahazwj the Exalted Speaks of in the Decisive (Verse) of Hisazwj Book [16:43] so ask the People of the Reminder if you do not know. So weasws are the Peopleasws of the Reminder, therefore ask usasws if you are not knowing’.

و هلأ حان للاه ما عنى بذلك الأيهود و النهصارى فقال أبو الأحسن ع سبأ عونا إلى دينهمأ و يقولون فقالت الأعلماء إنه يجوز ذلك إذا يدأ بخلف ما قالوا يا أب دك في ذلك شرأ لم فقال الأمأأمون فهلأ عنأ سأ ه أفأضل منأ دين الأ ا الأحسن؟إنه

So the scholars said, ‘But rather, it Means by that the Jews and the Christians’. So Abu Al-Hassanasws said:’ Glory be to Allahazwj! And it that allowed? When they are calling us to their Religion and are saying that it is superior that the Religion of Al-Islam?’ So Al-Mamoun said, ‘So is there with youasws, regarding that, an explanation opposite to what they are saying, O Abu Al-Hassanasws?’

So heasws said: ‘Yes. The Reminder (Zikr) is Rasool-Allahsaww, and weasws and hissaww Peopleasws, and that is clear in the Book of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic where Heazwj is Saying in Surah Al-Talaaq [65:10] therefore fear Allah, O men of understanding who believe! Allah has Sent down to you a Reminder, [65:11] A Messenger reciting to you the clear Verses of Allah. Thus, the Reminder is Rasool-Allahsaww and weasws are hissaww Peopleasws. So this is the ninth.

ريم عزه و جله في آية التهحأ ل للاه ا الأعاشرة فقوأ هاتكمأ و بناتكمأ و أخواتكمأ و أمه كمأ أمه متأ عليأ ية إلى آخرها ف حر بروني هلأ الأ أخأني نة ابأ نتي و ابأ لح ابأ بروني هلأ تصأ جها لوأ كان حيا؟ قالوا ل قال فأخأ ص أنأ يتزوه نة و ما تناسل منأ صلأبي لرسول للاه كانت ابأ

جها لوأ كان ح لح له أنأ يتزوه يا؟ قالوا نعمأ أحدكمأ تصأ

And as for the tenth, so Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic is Saying in the Verse of the Prohibition [4:23] Forbidden to you are your mothers and your daughters and your sisters – the Verse up to its end. So inform measws! Is it correct for myasws daughter and the daughter of myasws son, and whatever is linked from myasws lineage to Rasool-Allahsaww, you should marry her, if hesaww was alive?’ They said, ‘No’. Heasws said: ‘Then inform measws, would it be correct for a daughter of one of you that hesaww marry her if hesaww was alive?’ They said, ‘Yes’.

ه بناتك م عليأ تمأ منأ آله لحر تمأ منأ آله و لوأ كنأ ا منأ آله و لسأ ت قال ففي هذا بيان لنه ا منأ آله و أنأ ه بناتي لنه م عليأ ته مأ كما حر مأ منأ أمهه ستأ منأ ل ليأ ة إذا لمأ تكنأ من الأ مه ه و الأ ل منأ ة لنه الأ مه ل و الأ ن الأ ق بيأ فهذه الأعاشرة فهذا فرأ

Heasws said: ‘So in this is a clarification, as Iasws from hissaww Progenyasws and you are not from hissaww Progenyasws, and had you been from hissaww Progenyasws, your daughters would have been Prohibited unto himsaww, and just as mysaww daughter would be Prohibited unto himsaww, because Iasws am from hissaww Progenyasws and you are from hissaww community. So this is the difference between the Progenyasws and the community, because the Progenyasws is from himsaww, and the community, when it does not happen to be from the Progenyasws, isn’t from himsaww. So this is the tenth.

ن و أمه عوأ من منأ آل فرأ ل رجل مؤأ من عنأ قوأ عزه و جله في سورة الأمؤأ ل للاه من منأ آل ا الأحادية عشر فقوأ و قال رجل مؤأ و قدأ جاء تلون رجل أنأ يقول ربي للاه تم إيمانه أ تقأ ن يكأ عوأ كمأ فرأ ن فنسبه كمأ بالأبينات منأ رب عوأ ن خال فرأ ية و كان ابأ إلى تمام الأ

ا منأ آل رسول للاه ن إذأ كنه نا نحأ ه بدينه و كذلك خصصأ ه إليأ ن بنسبه و لمأ يضفأ عوأ ه إلى فرأ ين ص بولدتنا منأ نا النهاس بالد و عممأة فهذه الأحادية عشر مه ل و الأ ن الأ ق بيأ فهذا الأفرأ

And as for the eleventh, so Allahazwj Mighty and Majetic is Saying in Surah Al-Momin on behalf of the words of the Momin man from the family of Pharaohla, [40:28] And a believing man of Pharaoh’s people who hid his faith said: Will you slay a man because he says: My Lord is Allah, and indeed he has brought to you clear Proofs from your Lord? – up to the completion of the Verse. And he was a son of the paternal uncle of Pharaohla, so he was linked to Pharaohla by his link, and he did not add to him with hisla religion. And similar to that weasws are particularised from himsaww, when weasws were from the Progenyasws of the Rasoolsaww by ourasws linage from himsaww, and the

people are generalised with the Religion. So this is the difference between the Progenyasws and the community. This is the eleventh.

أحدا منأ ذراري رم للاه و ما أكأ لة رحمكم للاه ات فيقول الصه س مره رمنا حضور كل صلة خمأ ل هذه الأكرامة الهتي أكأ بياء مثأ نأ الأته ل بيأ نا منأ دون جميع أهأ مأ بها و خصه

And as for the twelfth, so Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic is Saying [20:132] And enjoin Salat upon your followers, and be constant at it. So Allahazwj Particularised usasws with this speciality when Heazwj Commanded with the establishment of the Salat, then Specialised usasws from besides the community. And it was so that Rasool-Allahsaww would come to the door of Aliasws and (Syeda) Fatimaasws after the Descent of this Verse for nine months, every day, at the attendance of every Salat, five times, and hesaww was saying: ‘May Allahazwj have Mercy on youasws all, and Allahazwj has not Honoured anyone from the offspring of the Prophetsas with the like of this prestige which Heazwj has Honoured usasws with, and Particularised usasws from besides the entirety of the People of theiras Households’.

را فما نجد الشهرأ ة خيأ مه كمأ عن الأ ت نبي ل بيأ أهأ .فقال الأمأأمون و الأعلماء جزاكم للاه دكمأ نا إله عنأ تبه عليأ و الأبيان فيما اشأ

So Al-Mamoun and the scholars said, ‘May Allahazwj Recompense youasws all, the Peopleasws of the Household of yourasws Prophetsaww with goodness on behalf of the community. So we cannot find the explanations and the clarifications with regards to what is confusing upon us except with youasws all’’.42

د عنأ أنس عنأ أبي ذر قال: ثنا أبي عنأ حميأ حده

It was narrated to us by my father, from Humeyd, from Anas, from Abu Zarras who said,

تا و هو يقول ت النهبيه ص بأذنيه و إله صمه ل سمعأ ش منأ قبأ نة الأعرأ على يمأ ت أنا و علي منأ نور واحد نسبح للاه لق خلقأ أنأ يخألب صأ نا في صلأبه ثمه نقلأنا منأ كرام الأ ا خلق أبونا آدم صرأ نا في صلأب إلى مطههر أبونا آدم بألأفيأ عام فلمه حام حتهى صرأ رأ ات الأ

لب د الأمطه ي عبأ جد

Ias heard the Prophetsaww saying, by myas own ears, or else Ias be deafened, and hesaww was saying: ‘Isaww and Aliasws were Created from one Light. Weasws Glorified Allahazwj upon the right of the Throne from before Heazwj Created ourasws fatheras Adamas, by two thousand years. So when ourasws fatheras Adamas was Created, weasws came to be in hisas forehead. Then weasws transferred from the honourable foreheads to the purified laps until weasws came to be in the forehead of mysaww grandfatheras Abdul Muttalibas.

تارني ر عليا في صلأب أبي طالب و اخأ و صيه د للاه رني في صلأب عبأ ن و صيه فيأ مة و الأبرك ثمه شقهنا نصأ حأ ة و الره بوه تار للن ة و اخأمود و مائه عزه و جله محأ ن منأ أسأ ميأ تقه لنا اسأ جاعة و الأعلأم و الأفصاحة و اشأ .عليا للشه الأعلي و هذا علي د و للاه أنا محمه

Then weasws split into two halves, and Isaww came to be in the forehead of Abdullahasws, and Aliasws came to be in the forehead of Abu Talibasws, and Heazwj Chose mesaww for the Prophet-hood and the Mercy and the Blessings, and Chose Aliasws for the bravery, and the knowledge, and the eloquence, and Derived two names for usasws from Hisazwj Names. The Mighty and Majestic is ‘Mahmoud’ (The Most-Praised One) and Isaww am ‘Muhammad’ (the praised one), and Allahazwj is ‘Ali Al-Azeem’ (the Magnificent), and this is Aliasws (High)’’.43

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Ibrahim Bin Yusuf Bin Abu Is’haq, from Abdul Jabbar Bin Al Abbas Al Shibamy, from Ammar Al Duhny, from Abu Fakhita who said,

سع له في الأمجأ ضع و تواضع و أوأ ا رآه عمر تضعأ لسه فلمه بل علي ع و عمر جالس في مجأ ض أقأ ا قام علي ع قال له بعأ لس فلمه صا حاب رسول للاه نعه بأصأ نع بعلي صنيعا ما تصأ ا لنراك تصأ منين إنه م يا أمير الأمؤأ نع به قال لأقوأ تني أصأ قال عمر و ما رأيأ

ل ت له حتهى يجأ سعأ ت و أوأ ت و تواضعأ ضعأ ناك كما تضعأ من.رأيأ لى كل مؤأ لي و موأ ه لموأ إنه نعني فو للاه س قال و ما يمأ

‘Aliasws came over and Umar who was seated in his gathering. When Umar saw himasws, so he became dejected and humble, and made space for himasws in the gathering. So when Aliasws arose (left the gathering), some of the people said to him, ‘O commander of the faithful! We saw you doing with Aliasws what you do not do with the companions of Rasool-Allahsaww’. Umar said, ‘And what did you see me do with himasws?’ They said, ‘We saw you as if you were dejected and humble and made space for him until heasws was seated’. He said, ‘And what would prevent me, for by Allahazwj, heasws is my Masterasws and Masterasws of every Momin’’.44

س قال لى قيأ م موأ ن الأحسن عنأ أبي سله ب عنأ هارون بأ ن كليأ برنا يوسف بأ قال: أخأ

He said, ‘It was informed to us by Yusuf Bin Kuleyb, from Haroun Bin Al Hassan, from Abu Sallam, a slave of Qays who said,

ت مع ت خرجأ فة يقول سمعأ ت أبي حذيأ فة يقول سمعأ ن حذيأ د بأ ت سعأ س إلى الأمدائن قال سمعأ لي قيأ ص يقول موأ : ما رسول للاهدل منأ حب علي ة منأ خرأ قال حبه د و ل أمة يموت و في قلأبه مثأ ة. منأ عبأ عزه و جله الأجنه خله للاه ع إله أدأ

‘I went out with my master Qays, to Al-Madayin. I heard Sa’ad Bin Huzyefa saying, ‘I heard my father Huzeyfa saying, ‘I heard Rasool-Allahsaww saying: ‘There is none from a servant or a maid who dies and in his/her heart is a measurement of a mustard seed from the love of Aliasws, except that Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic would Enter him into the Paradise’’.45

(It has been narrated) from Aliasws bin Abu Talibasws having said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘There is none from a supplication except between it and the sky there is a Veil, until he sends Salawat upon the Prophetsaww and upon the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww. So when he does that, that Veil splits and the supplication enters. But when he does not do that, the supplication returns’’.46

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Ali Bin Hashim Bin Al Bareyd, from Ibrahim Bin Hayyan,

ن ن رجليأ ضي بيأ فر ع قال: أمر عليا أنأ يقأ درأ عنأ أبي جعأ ه ازأ ننا فكأنه ه هذا الهذي يقأضي بيأ نهما فقال الهذي قضي عليأ فقضى بيأن أبي طالب هذا م ري منأ هذا هذا علي بأ لك و ما ندأ ه فأخذ عمر بتلبيبه و قال ويأ لى كل عليأ لي و موأ من فمنأ لمأ يكنأ وأ مؤأ

(It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’farasws having said: ‘Aliasws was instructed (sought by Umar) to judge between two men, so heasws judged between them. So the one who was judged against, said, ‘This one who has been judged between us, so it as if heasws had been unfair upon it’. So Umar grabbed his collar and said, ‘Woe be unto you! And don’t we know who this is? This is Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws. This is my Masterasws and the Masterasws of every Momin. So the one whose Masterasws heasws does not happen to be, so he isn’t a Momin’’.47

رفوا لذلك و قالوا لق تشأ م اسأ ائف فكان الأقوأ ص دعا عليا ع و هو محاصر الطه م فقال ما دأ أنه رسول للاه ذ الأيوأ واك له منأ طال نجأتجاه. انأ ته و لكنه للاه تجيأ أنا انأ

‘Rasool-Allahsaww called Aliasws, and heasws was besieging Al-Ta’if, and it was so that the people were getting fed up to that, and they said, ‘Yoursaww whispering to himasws has been prolonged since today’. So hesaww said: ‘It was not Isaww who was whispering to himasws, but Allahazwj was Whispering to himasws’’.48

From Ibn Abbas who said, ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Love Allahazwj for what Heazwj has Provided you all with from the Bounties, and love mesaww for the love of Allahazwj, and love the Peopleasws of mysaww Household for mysaww love’’.49

Sermon of Al-Hassanasws on the morning of the murder of Amir Al-

Momineenasws.

It was informed to us by Yahya Bin Al A’la Al Razy, from his uncle Saeed Bin Khalid, from Abu Is’haq, from Hubeyra Ibn Maryam who said,

لة رجل ن أبي طالب ع فقال لقدأ فارقكم اللهيأ ن علي ع صبيحة قتل علي بأ خرون خطبنا الأحسن بأ ه الأ ركأ لون و لمأ يدأ وه ه الأ بقأ لمأ يسأتنف بعلأم و لقدأ صعد بروحه في ث فيكأ عثه في الأبعأ يبأ ا كان رسول للاه ن زكريه يى بأ يحأ لة الهتي صعد فيها برو رئيل عنأ اللهيأ ه جبأ

ه عزه و جله عليأ تح للاه ثني حتهى يفأ يمينه و ميكائيل عنأ يساره فل ينأ

‘Al-Hassanasws Bin Aliasws addressed us on the morning of the assassination of Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws, so heasws said: ‘There has separated from you all tonight, a manasws whom the former ones did not precede nor will the later ones catch up with the knowledge. Hisasws soul has ascended during the night in which the soul of Yahyaas Bin Zakariyyaas ascended. Rasool-Allahsaww used to send himasws regarding the despatch, so Jibraeelas would surround himasws from hisasws right, and Mikaeel from hisasws left, so heasws would be undeterred until Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Granted victory to himasws.

هم فضلتأ م عمائة درأ ضاء إله سبأ راء و ل بيأ له.ما ترك صفأ تاع بها خادما لهأ نأ عطائه أراد أنأ يبأ

Heasws did not leave (as an inheritance), neither a yellow (gold) nor white (silver), except for seven hundred Dirhams, being an excess from hisasws stipend, intending to buy a servant with it for hisasws family’’.50

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Al Muttalib Bin Ziyad, from Al Sudayy, from Abdul Khayr,

(It has been narrated) from Amir Al-Momineen Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws regarding the Words of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic [13:7] But rather, you are only a warner, and

for every people is a Guide. Heasws said: ‘The warner is the Prophetsaww, and the Guide is a manasws from the Clan of Hashimas’, meaning himselfasws’’.51

It was narrated to us by Ubeydullah Al Masoudy, and he was Ubeydullah Bin Al Zubeyr, from Amro Bin Shimr, from Jabir,

From Abu Ja’farasws, from Ibn Abbas who said, ‘I was at the door on the day of the consultation (to choose the third Caliph), and I heard Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws saying: ‘Iasws adjure you all to Allahazwj, O you number who have gathered! Is there anyone among you to whom Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘O Allahazwj! Befriend the one who befriends himasws and be Inimical to the one who is inimical to himasws’, apart from measws?’ They said, ‘O Allahazwj! No’’.52

ن عيسى قا د بأ ن محمه بأ د للاه ثنا عبأ يري قال: حده فر الأحمأ ن جعأ بأ د للاه ثنا عبأ ن قال: حده ن الأمغيرة عن ابأ بأ د للاه ثنا أبي عنأ عبأ ل: حدهن يزيد ار بأ كان عنأ عمه مسأ

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Abdullah Bin Ja’far Al Humeyri, from Abdullah Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from his father, from Abdullah Bin Al Mugheira, from Ibn Muskan, from Ammar Bin Yazeed,

ا نزل رسول للاه د ع قال: لمه ن محمه فر بأ جعأ د للاه عزه و عنأ أبي عبأ ن أبي طالب ع يا علي إني سألأت للاه د قال لعلي بأ ن قديأ بطأنك ففعل و سألأته أنأ ني و بيأ نك ففعل و سألأته أنأ يواخي بيأ ني و بيأ علك وصيي ففعل جله أنأ يوالي بيأ يجأ

(It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws having said: ‘When Rasool-Allahsaww descended in the middle of Qadeed, said to Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws: ‘O Aliasws! Isaww asked Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic that Heazwj Establishes friendship between mesaww and youasws, so Heazwj Did. And Isaww asked Himazwj that Heazwj Establishes brotherhood between mesaww and youasws, so Heazwj Did. And Isaww asked Himazwj that Heazwj Make youasws mysaww successorasws, so Heazwj Did’.

ه هله س د ربه ا سأل محمه ر ممه ر في شن بال خيأ لصاع منأ تمأ م و للاه زا فقال رجل من الأقوأ ه أوأ كنأ ضده على عدو أله ملكا يعأتعين به على حاجته يسأ

So a man from the people said, ‘By Allahazwj! A Sa’a (3kg.) of dates in a wretched occupation is better than what Muhammadsaww asked hissaww Lordazwj. Had hesaww asked for an Angel, he (Angel) would have supported himsaww against hissaww enemies, or (asked for) a treasure to be assisted by it upon hissaww need’.

So Allahazwj the Exalted Revealed [11:12] So, perhaps you will leave part of what is Revealed to you and your chest would become straitened by it that they are saying: Why has not a treasure been sent down upon him or an angel come with him? But rather, You are only a warner; and Allah is in Charge of all things’’.53

The most superior of the Eids is Eid of Al-Ghadeer, etc..

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Ibrahim Bin Hashim, from Al Qasim Bin Yahya, from his grandfather Al Hassan Bin Rashid,

رفها قال ق ظمها و أشأ ن قال نعمأ يا حسن أعأ ر الأعيديأ لمين عيد غيأ م نصب أمير لأت و قلأت جعلأت فداك للأمسأ م هو؟ قال يوأ أي يوأم ام تدور و هو يوأ يه م هو؟ قال إنه الأ منين ع علما للنهاس قال جعلأت فداك و أي يوأ ة الأمؤأ ثمانية عشر منأ ذي الأحجه

(It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullahasws, said, ‘I said, ‘May I be sacrificed for youasws! Is there an Eid for the Muslims other than the two Eids (Al-Fitr and Al-Az’ha)?’ Heasws said: ‘Yes, O Hassan, greater than the two and more noble’. He said, ‘I said, ‘And which day is it?’ Heasws said: ‘The day in which Amir Al-Momineenasws was nominated as a ‘ علما’ flag for the people’. He said, ‘And which day is it?’ Heasws said: ‘The days turn around, and it is the eighteenth day from Zil-Hajj’.

He said, ‘I said, ‘May I be sacrificed for youasws! And what is befitting for me to do during it?’ Heasws said: ‘You should Fast in it, O Hassan, and frequent during it the Salawat upon Muhammadsaww and the Peopleasws of hissaww Household, and disavow to Allahazwj from the ones who oppressed themasws of their rights’.

Heasws said: ‘The (former) Prophetsas used to instruct the succesorsas with the day in which the successoras would stand (with the command) during it, that it should be taken as an Eid (Festival)’.

He said, ‘I said, ‘So what (Reward) is for the one from us who Fasts during it?’ Heasws said: ‘The (Reward of the) Fasts of sixty months for you, and do not leave the Fasting of

the twenty-seventh day of Rajab, for it is the day in which the Prophet-hood was Revealed upon Muhammadsaww, and its Reward is like sixty months’’.54

Acknowledgment of Ibn Abbas at the time of death, with the Wilayah

for Aliasws.

ثنا أبي قال: يى قال: حده ن يحأ د بأ ثنا محمه ري قال: حده ن علي الأبصأ ثنا الأحسن بأ ي قال: حده د ر عن الس ن ظهيأ ثنا الأحكم بأ عنأ أبي حدهالح قال: الصه

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Al Hassan Bin Ali Al Basry, from Muhammad Bin Yahya, from hs father, from Al Hakam Bin Zuheyr, from Al Sudy, from Abu Al Salih who said,

ن الأعبهاس الأ بأ د للاه ا حضرتأ عبأ ن أبي طالب ع.لمه ب بولية علي بأ وفاة قال اللههمه إني أتقره

‘When the death presented itself to Abdullah Bin Al-Abbas, he said, ‘O Allahazwj! I acknowledge the Wilayah of Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws’’.55
