Strength
•Our sweet soup store can hold the whole market in this
campus by lack of competitors.
•A reasonable price can attract more customers. Our sweet
soup’s price is cheap that they can have one everyday.
•Our store has takeaway service. It is convenience for
students who are lazy to go out to buy.
•Stores set up by students are much credible for customers and
will receive more support. So it will be much easy in our
initial stage of pioneering.

Worse
•Our sweet soup shop is located in the north living area, so maybe
the students in the south living area are not likely to go to our shop
and we will lose a lot of potential customers.
•The varieties of our sweet soup are not so many, so the
customers don’t have a lot of choices about the sweet soup.
•Our sweet soup shop is a small business, so it’s hard for us to
expand the scale of operation.
•We are all sophomores and we don’t have much experience about
operating a small business, so the management of our shop is
not very efficient.

Opportunity
•Compared with other food industries, TG has a smaller competitive
ness. At our campus, there are various stores except a sweet soup st
ore which means a great business opportunity.
•Huge potential customers. According to the questionnaire, stud
ents in our school have a great demand for sweet soup. 58% of the stu
dents we have surveyed said that they used to keep a habit as have sw
eep soup few times a week and wish to keep it.
•With the development of economic, youngsters especially university
students nowadays spend money without considering and ha
ve no concept of thrift in their mind. This means that more students wou
ld like to spend money to buy our products.
Threat Capital : Because all of us are students, we are faced with the shortage of funds. Our start-up funding is ¥10120, and we also have to pay for the materials, Rent and Water and electricity fees monthly. It’s a large sum of money for us students in university. If the business goes well,we would need a lot of money to enlarge our shop.
Homogeneous competition: There are some milk and tea shops providing sweetmeats,milky tea and others, such as Kilocalorie Department (大卡司) , Big nine (大口九) and Water Cube (水立方) . Thought their prices are a bit higher, the trademarks are popular among students. What is worse, there are many kinds of syrup sold in our canteen,and the price of them is so cheap. It ranks from 1.5yuan to 2.5 yuan, so many students would like to choose them.
The low market share : Our target market is a bit small . It is all the students who like eating dessert in South China Normal University, just about 5800 persons. Our profit is not so high ,so it is hard to go on.We do not have chains to enlarge the business. If our customers include another 9 universities, it will be better.
