Area happenings Brushes growing Twelve taverns in Frackville have formed Brothers of the Brush chapters for the borough centennial. "Mush's Bushes" came in first, with 35 mem- bers. "Hummel's Guinea Hill Brush" with 41 members is largest. Other tavern chapters are Kaplafka's Friendly Tavern, .Jackie's Bar, Pauper's Pub, Kirelawich's, Flatly's Place, Sportsman's Bar, B&J Lonely tine, Prep's, Turk's Tavern, and Con Gudaitis. Altamont Fire Company formed a chapter with 37 members, and Good Will Hose Brush added 97 members, bringing their total to 189, largest in the borough. Total membership of all chapters now stands at 774. Anyone interested in helping plan Brush activities or starting a chapter may attend meetings the third Thursday of each month at 8 p.m. in the former fire house on East Oak street. Woman's 'Club Afashion show by Pomeroy's was viewed by the Frackville Woman's Club at Ace Hall. Narrator Barbara Smythe introduced spring wear modeled by Lori Berg, Nicole Graziano, Robert Judd, Helen , Solinsky, Michelle Halupa, Lydia Monti, June Anthony, Marian Wagner, Anna Ben- drick, Dianne Decker, Joanne Brophy, Rosalie Miller, Joan Halupa and Kitty Kopey.
