The Life of Dennis Houser Black

February 17, 1970 – April 23, 2017

In God’s eternal studio hangs a very special portrait. The master creator produced one of his finest pieces of

art. On April 23, 2017 at the young age of 47, the master couldn’t resist removing the portrait from His

collection any longer. He had to put him in His special gallery. Surely God took time to reflect on the selection

of the perfect roll of film. He selected Henry Black, Jr and Dorothy Withrow Black to snap into focus Dennis

Houser Black on February 17, 1970. Dennis began to unwind in his own camera of life, as he dedicated his life

back to God at an early age and he attended Destiny Metropolitan Worship Church in Atlanta, Ga where he

continued to serve the Lord. Dennis continued his education and graduated from New Horizon Medical

Institute in Norcross, Ga where he studied Medical Assistant and attained his certifications in Certified Nurse

Assistant and EKG. He recently was accepted to Liberty University with studies in Christian Counseling with a

concentration in Substance Abuse. He also achieved his Master Barber License and serviced many people with

his master skills for many years. He loved to protect others and worked part-time as a security guard in Rhode

Island, North Carolina, and Georgia surrounding areas. His passion was speaking about God’s word and telling

those about his goodness every chance he got. He was employed with Malamav Community & Human

Services in Powder Springs, GA as a Certified Nurse Assistant doing what he loved; serving and assisting those

with physical and mental disabilities. He was an advocate and voice for children and those in need. He loved

his job family, who he referred to as his sisters and brothers in Christ.

He leaves to cherish his memories the love of his life, soulmate, fiancé of the home, Veronica Fullove (Black),

Norcross, GA, two wonderful children, son Kenyon Jones, Gaffney, SC, daughter of the home, Victoria Fullove

Wiley, Norcross, GA, grandson Ke’Nyon Jones, Gaffney, SC, parents Henry Black, Jr, Providence, RI and

Dorothy Withrow Black, Shelby, NC, two brothers Gregory Withrow, Shelby, NC and Wade Withrow, Asheville,

NC, one sister Leslie Black, Corona, CA, nephew Nathan Black, Corona, CA, niece Allysha Clark-Hinton (Joshua),

Birmingham, AL, two uncles Jimmy Black, Providence, RI and Leonard Flack, Jamesburg, NJ, two aunts Gladys

Chambers, Shelby, NC and Evangeline Jones, Lawndale, NC, and a host of relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death his beautiful sister Sandra Withrow-Brooks, Uncle Sammie Black, maternal

grandparents, Yourse Shade and Jessie Mae Houser; paternal grandparents, Henry Black, Sr. and Leslie Black.

Dennis H. Black loved his entire family. He was always concerned, always helping, always loving, never ceased

to give his all...And never asking for anything in return. Dennis ladder life reflected God’s agape love. Many

photos were taken and shared in this magnificent scrapbook of life. He touched many lives, yet, no one will

forget or compare to the special imprint that Dennis’s footprints of love have placed upon their lives. God is

smiling now with a joy, unexplainable joy, that gave Him a closer inspection of this fine masterpiece, and He

saw that tears were beginning to form around the edges knowing that no earthly photographer could repair

the photo to His specifications. He decided that this final touch up could be done by none other than Himself.

So without anyone’s approval, which He needed none, the photo was His. He took from the mantel of our

lives and began to repair the small tears that had occurred. The color has all been restored to perfection. No

photo could look any better. God, having completed this masterpiece of life now has Dennis in His heavenly

home. So now Dennis will be with Him as He continues to create and recall photos for His eternal studio.

Inspired with Love by Fiancé Veronica & Sis Valerie

Remember our Love I was chosen today I’m learning to fly

God took me away, But please don’t you cry.

And I chose you today To try and be strong

So please don’t you cry, And don’t say that I’m gone.

When you’re feeling alone Just remember our Love,

I’m up near the stars Looking down from above.

Remember our Love,

In a moment you will see That I’m still here beside you Every time you think of me.

I know you long to see me,

but there’s nothing I can do. I’ll still send you messages and I hope you understand, that when your time comes to cross over, I’ll be there to

take your hand…

I love you to the Moon and Eternity Until We Meet Again…

Acknowledgements

Perhaps you sent a lovely card, or sat quietly in a chair, maybe you sent a

flower, if so we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words to

Veronica, Victoria, Kenyon, Dorothy, Henry, Greg, Wade, Leslie, and Nathan as

any friend could say, or you just silently prayed for us and really that’s ok.

Whatever you did to console our grieving hearts. We thank you so very

much, whatever the part…. The Family
