ISPIRAZIONI: "Minialbum" di Alice Carman by Fiorella

Dopo aver vistoquesto post di Alice Carmansono rimasta colpita dalla semplice struttura di questo minialbum

tanto che ho deciso di riproporvelo secondo il mio gusto.. molto country!

Ben si adattano a questa mia interpretazione le nuove carte della October Afternoon collezione Farm Freshe

Report card che saranno presto diponibili nello shop on-line, ma gi disponibili presso il magazzino o alle

prossime fiere.

Un solobazzil "espresso" serve per costruire sia l'interno ( 2 strisce 10 x 30,5 piegate a 10/20/30 unite tra di

loro) che l'esterno ( un striscia 10,5 x 27 piegata a 8/9/19,5/20,5), sul quale ho timbrato un fiorellino della

Aladinetono su tono con ildistress vintage photo, usato anche per dare l'effetto invecchiato sui bordi di tutte lecarte.

Come abbellimenti ho usato dei bottoncini ricavati con ilpunch Ek success double buttone dei frutti ritagliati

dalla carta October Afternon Root cellar, per la chiusura trovo veramente comodi questi dischetti di velcro

Hook & Loop.

Per decorare i bordi delle pagine e la copertina ho usato i punchFiskars Scalloped LaceeScalloped Sentiment.

Accordian fold mini album with Emily Pitts!

Happy Wednesday! I was happy to see such positive comments on the Monday Challenge, I had intended to do

a basic tutorial on making an accordion fold mini album, but I thought I'd incorporate the idea of doing a

monthly "Currently" into the project as well. I've made this album twelve pockets large, perfect for on

"Currently" sheet and photo each month. At the end of 2012, I'll have a snapshot of me throughout the year.

First off, you'll want to score a 12x12 piece of cardstock into thirds (at 4 inches and 8 inches), then you'll cut

that 12x12 in half, so you have two 6 inch pieces. Fold them accordion style and glue together by overlapping

two of the flaps. A 12-pocket album will use six6 inch strips glued together.

Once your accordion is glued together, cut twelve 3 " x 4" rectangles and punch a half hole on one of the 4 inch

sides. Then glue a rectangle to the right side of each two page spread. To get all twelve, you'll also be using the

back of the accordion to house your pockets and photos.

I then printed off the questions and cut them into 3" x 4" rectangles. I also cut up a sheet of calender bingo

cards from theYearology collectionfrom Simple Stories (all patterned papers and stickers are from this line).

I slipped the questions and the calendar in the pocket. When I answer my questions, I'll circle the date on the

calendar, clever, no?

Supplies:Paper trimmer

Scoring tool

2 - 12x12 sheets of card stock

Patterned paper to decorate (used MME 6x6 Lost and Found Madison Ave)

Crystal Stickles

Bling

Magnet for closure (you could also use ribbon or velcro)

Cut the first sheet of card stock in half, you will make 2 shutter cards for the bases.

Take the card stock horizontally (long side) and score it at the 2, 4, 8, and 10 marks.Turn the card stock 90 degrees and cut between the 2 and 10 score marks 1 in on each side, you will have

3 sections of the card but it will be in one piece. Fold the score lines so that front and back are a sideways T

and the other flaps tuck in behind.

To do this you will fold as follows: Take the middle section and fold the second score line out (mountain) and

the next one in (valley). Note you will fold at 4, and 8 marks.

Add the frames to each end of your album. Glue a label piece onto each page of your album and add a photo

onto five of the album pages (skipping the first one since thats for your title). Photos measure 2-1/2 x 2-1/2.

Add adhesive to all of the small tabs, cut the last two small tabs off. Since there is not another page that thesesmall tabs will attach to, you dont need them.

Fold the main part of your album flat using the valley/mountain/valley fold technique.

Adhere your inside pages together followingpackage directions. Folding the small tabs as you go and adding

them to the backside of your pages. Your inside pages will fold the opposite direction of your album frame.

Cut two more frames, they are to help make your album a bit sturdier. Fold your album flat once again and gluethe label frames to the front and back of your album. Your title should be facing up once your album is

completely folded.

To finish off your album, open it back up and decorate with title, dates, and names.

6. Turning the second piece over so the wrong side is up, place glue on the middle two panels, and adhere them to each other.This will be the central insert, dividing the two fold out CD panels.

7. Apply strong adhesive tape to the wrong sides of each of the four 3/8" wide panels at the end of the central insert.Carefully insert into the 3/4" panel of the cover (not the one that was formed by putting the two front pieces together, but the one that is inthe first piece).Be sure that the folds in the insert align with the folds in the cover.

8. Glue the two 5 1/4" square panels to the right-most and center panels of the cover, right side up, reinforcing each panel.Glue the 3/4" x 5 1/4" panel over the left 3/4" panel so that both the inside and outside of the cover has the right-side of the cardstockshowing.

14. Cover each of the exposed CD panels with the patterned paper, mixing the papers as desired.o To cover the panels with the circular punchout, first insert the paper into the holder (right side up), and mark the punchout with a

pencil or disappearing ink pen.Remove the paper from the holder, and use the 3/4" circle punch to punch the marked partial circle.

Glue the panel into place.

o To cover the panels with the cut slot, first insert the paper into the holder (right side up), mark the edge of the slot with a pencilor disappearing ink pen.

Remove the paper from the holder, and carefully cut along the drawn line.Glue each of the two pieces into place.

15. Attach a 24" piece of ribbon to the outside of the front cover, so that the ribbon will be able to extend around the album and be tied into abow to the right side of the front of the cover.

16. Using a portion of the 3rd piece of Bazzill, die cut the largest of the labels 1 dies.Sponge around the piece with the dusty concord ink.Attach it to the front cover, over the ribbon, using foam dots or foam tape.

17. Decorate the label panel with the dimensional stickers as desired.

18. Cut a small tag out of the Bazzil Scraps.Stamp the "Happy Birthday" from the on it with the concord ink.Punch a small hole in the tag using the Crop-a-Dile.Attach a small piece of ribbon through the hole.Attach the tag to the dimensional stickers decoration on the front panel.

19. The album is completed. Set aside.

20. Cover the front of eight tags with the patterned paper or Bazzill paper as desired.

21. Recreating the hole in the tag, punch a hole through the cover paper with the Crop-a-Dile.Attach an eyelet through the hole.Tie a length of ribbon through the eyelet.

22. Randomly stamp the tags with the iris stamp or with the script stamp as desired.

23. Tear around the birthday sayings.Glue a saying to the front of each tag.Lightly sponge ink around the edges of the sayings.

24. Embellish the tags with dimensional stickers as desired.

Start with the front cover: glue a piece of batting to a square of cardboard and allow to dry.

Sew or glue the ribbon in place leaving a space between the covers sufficient to hold the necessary pages, and

glue the remaining two squares of thick cardboard over it.

Cut 11 or more pieces of card stock the same height as the outside cover, and twice as wide.

Fold each piece in half.

Using glue or double sided tape, fix the folded pieces together to create an accordion-style fold as shown below.

Glue the first accordion page to the front cover and the last page to the back cover.

Close the book and make a bow with the ribbon. Add a charm of your choice.

To make a 4 inch explosion album, you will need:

Three 8 x 8 inch pieces of sturdy cardstock can be all the same color or 3 coordinating colors

1 sheet of patterned paper (thinner paper folds around the cover easier) Two 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch pieces of chipboard Coordinating ribbon approximately 24 inches long Scissors Adhesive Paper trimmer with scoring blade Bone folder

Directions:

1. Score each of the 8 inch squares of cardstock three times. First horizontally, next vertically and finally on ONE ofthe diagonals. I added dotted lines for you to see more easily where to fold, but DO NOT draw those on yourproject! Crease each fold well with a bone folder. Then turn your paper over and crease again on the back side.

13.You are then going to take each 6"x12" piece and score them on the 12" side at 2-4-8-10 inch marks

14.15.Cut 1 and a half inches in on the long side from the 2 inch mark to the 10 inch mark

16.17.The folding is the trickiest part, but once you get it figured out this is what you will end up with

18.19.You are now going to take more pieces of cardstock and cut 2 - 4"x6" pieces and 2 - 6"x6" pieces

20.21.Taking the 2 tri-fold pieces, match up together and attatch the 4"x6" cardstock to the front and back

22.23.Now take the 2 6"x6" pieces of cardstock and score them both at the 2 inch mark

24.25.Add these 2 pieces to the right and left sides. These will be your cover.

26.27.As you can see, I wanted to add a few more pictures so I took the first photo and added a folded strip so

I could make a little flip up of photos. I did this on both sides where you first open the album...

28.29.To acheive this look...use a 1 inch strip and attatch halfway on the back of your photos and then attatch

cardstock over the back of each photo

30.31.You are now ready to decorate your album...be creative, and most importantly...have fun! This album

was a little hard to photograph, but here is my finished product...
