ACTIVE DIRECTORY SAMPLE

Page 8: FINAL Revised PPT

A hierarchical distributed naming system for computers, services, or any resource connected to the Internet or a private network.

Responsible for name-to-IP conversion behind the scenes.

We implemented this in our Project because it makes it easier to Map all our services to a name.

Domain Name System

Page 9: FINAL Revised PPT

A standard network protocol used to transfer files from one host to another host over a TCP-based network, such as the Internet.

For our project scenario we often used FTP to upload web pages and other documents from Ubuntu machine to our Debian Apache web-hosting server.

Can be configured easily so more users can be added to the NetworkLow level Cisco router and switch will do. We

used Linksys router because our makeup company only had 3 computers

If the company requires another Web server we can just access DNS and add the Name and IP then configure the new Web server Accordingly

Maintenance is needed:Regular backup of the configuration files and

settings to avoid losing them.
