Educational Philosophy ／教育理念

The University’s philosophy is to promote peace among nations by producing leaders who can guide the next generation by

drawing on a wealth of ‘human capital’. This human capital is a quality KUFS seeks to instill in students. It is an all-encompassing

ability that lets graduates be aware of their responsibilities as global inhabitants and live an energized life as highly educated

individuals of value.

「国際社会の平和に貢献し、次世代を担うことのできる『人間力』豊かなリーダーの養成」です。本学が求める「人間力」とは、「国際社会の一員としての責任を自覚し、教養豊かな魅力ある人間として力強く生きていくための総合的な力」のことです。

外国語学部（Faculty of Foreign Studies）

Through foreign language study, the Faculty of Foreign Studies aims

to produce graduates who can help promote world peace by

providing them with advanced language skills, expert knowledge of

the region and culture they study, and the informed judgement and

wealth of education that befit an international lifestyle.

To achieve these aims to life, our educational goals are for students

to acquire the abilities below. We want to produce graduates who

can address issues affecting the entire world, help work on finding

answers, and lead the way to solutions.

国際貢献学部（Faculty of Global Engagement）

The Faculty of Global Engagement aims to produce graduates who

can help promote world peace by providing them with advanced

foreign language skills, the informed judgement that befits an

international lifestyle, and the ability to make decisions and take

actions based on a broad perspective and long-term insight.

To bring these aims to life, our educational goals are for students to

acquire the abilities below. We want to produce graduates who can

approach events taking place around the world from a perspective

that transcends the confines of their own people and nation. They

will be able to solve issues facing society and organizations by

acquiring abilities that combine academic and experiential learning,

helping create changes that help benefit people around the world

equally.

APUCEN (Asia-Pacific University-Community Engagement Network) ／ APUCEN（アプセン：アジア太平洋大学－地域連携ネットワーク）Our university is a member of APUCEN (Asia-Pacific University-Community Engagement Network). APUCEN is a regional network of academic institutions of higher learning with the aim of promoting cooperation between universities and local communities. 93 universities and organizations in Southeast Asia and Oceania affiliate with APUCEN. APUCEN has been progressing aggressively through exchanges. Our university is a COUNCIL MEMBER (Vice-President) from 2017 to 2020. ◆Learning Environment 学修環境Multilingual Education in 20 Languages, Simultaneously Learning Two-Language ／20言語を学べるマルチリンガル教育と2言語同時学習In addition to majoring in a foreign language, Kyoto Gaidai students have the opportunity to take second and third foreign

language courses, according to their interests. We also offer programs which feature simultaneous learning in two languages.

Students can study English along with another foreign language. We have develped a multilingual education program unique to

Kyoto University of Foreign Studies.

専攻語以外の外国語も幅広く学べるように、第２外国語科目と第３外国語科目を設けており、興味や関心に応じて多様な言語を学べます。また、英語ともう１言語を同時に学ぶ２言語同時学習などのプログラムを用意し、京都外大独自のマルチリンガル教育を展開しています。

“Flipped Classroom” and “Active Learning”.

大学コンソーシアム京都が実施する事業で、他大学が開講する科目を履修し、修得した単位が所属大学の単位として認定される制度。文化、芸術、政治、経済、自然科学など、さまざまな学問分野にわたる科目を提供している。京都地域を中心に 45 校の大学・短期大学が、単位互換包括協定を締結して科目を提供しており、単位互換参加大学に在籍する学生は、この制度を利用できる。

Finance/Management　財務・経営Application, Acceptance and Enrollment Numbers ／志願者数・合格者数・入学者数The University’s applicant numbers have been steadily improving in recent years due to:

1. Accumulation of steady efforts in areas such as publicizing educational programs and the entrance exam

2. Establishment of the Faculty of Global Engagement in 2018

3. Creation of diverse entrance exam systems tailored to applicant needs

4. Creation of closer alliances by improving ties to high schools
