neue Spieler kommen hinzu!
Marktanteil der „High/Deep Reach Login-
Plattformen“ (Google, FB, AMZ, Apple, Alibaba
etc.)
Summarizing current developments driving/leading to challenges
in “(digital) marketing”
• Relevant level of analysis and action shifting more and more from channel/context touser
• Users to an increasing extend make use of multiple devices→ login as idenDfier more an more crucial
• Digital advertising eco-system will resemble to an increasing extend financial markets(plus more advertising formats turn digital and programmatic):→ integrated advertising products (=combining media and data) that are biddable→ automatization of buy-side and sell-side systems
• Increasing power of “high/deep reach login platforms” (Google, Facebook, Amazon, eBay,and Apple) in the digital advertising eco-system
→ very strong head-ache for publishers (too weak on the data side)→ “nightmare” for media agencies→ stronger dependence/challenge for advertisers→ “mine field” for investors
• Digital divide between “haves” and “have nots” deepens (in terms of performancemarketing infrastructure and knowledge)
• CRM (especially through mobile apps) the “new SEO”

9
Das Sammeln und „Beherrschen“ proprietärer Kundendaten ist der Schlüssel
10
„Kern-CRM“ bietet eine mögliche Basis für eine verteidigbareMarketing-Skalierung – Facebook weist den Weg…

Konzept:• Ansprache von Bestands-
kunden via RTA etc. aufBasis von klassischerKundensegmentierung

„Lookalike CRM“
Anwendungsbereich der technischen und logischen Infrastruktur
Konzept:• Ansprache von Usern, die mit
Website, App o.Ä. interagiert haben
Probleme:• Abgrenzung zu Re-Targeting-Anbietern• Sinnvolle Orchestrierung der verschie-
denen Ansprachemöglichkeiten
Konzept:• Ansprache von Usern, die ähnliche Charak-
teristika aufweisen wie Bestandskunden
Probleme:• Identifizierung und Modellierung von
aussagekräftigen Nutzereigenschaften• Sinnvolle Orchestrierung der verschiedenen
Ansprachemöglichkeiten
Probleme:• Verfügbarmachen von CRM-
Daten in RTA-Infrastruktur• Sinnvolle Orchestrierung von
(a) Emails, (b) Push Notifi-cations, (c) FB Custom Audience, (d) SMS, (e) Offline Anstöße etc.

More key challenges and initiatives resulting from these
developments/trends…
• Finding and continuously developing the “right” approach to BI(a) conceptual(b) infrastructure
• (a) Analyzing and (b) actively shaping the customer journey→ Storytelling becomes key competence (plus integraDon of content and adverDsing)→ “Branding” and “Performance” are part of the same journey
• Understanding cross-channel interaction (including non-online channels) and multi-device user behavior
• Finding the “right” approach to Real Time Advertising (RTA), incl. re-targeting
• Automatizing traffic management
• Understanding the characteristics of and suitable role for “new” advertising formats,e.g. video, mobile, social-network based advertising plattforms
• How to instill culture of “data-driveness”, willingness to test, and continuousimprovement into marketing organization
3
Yet even more challenges/initiatives…
• Making sense of social - how is “buzzfeedization” relevant to me?
• Connecting/bridging the gap between customer acquisition and customer retention
• Bridging the gap between branding and performance marketing
• Bridging the gap between offsite and onsite marketing→ incl. personalizaDon
• Identifying, hiring, developing, and retaining the “right” talent
