What is a TAG?

• A Tag is a variable, a register that contains a numeric value. (Notion coming from SCADA market)

• The Tag’s value may come from different sources such as a local eWON IO, the eWON Memory or a third party device (PLC, Meter,…)

Define the source of a Tag

• The source of a Tag value is defined by selecting an “IO Server” and an address for this Tag.

• The IO Server defines the Field Protocol to use for communicating with the device.

• It exists many IO Servers in eWON, mainly oriented for connecting Program Logic Controller devices such as Siemens or Rockwell PLC.

Historical Logging

• The eWON Flexy is able to record up to 1.000.000 time stamped records.• The Historical logging is stored in the Flash memory of the eWON. So no data loss in

case of power shutdown.• The Historical logging can be exported/sent through different formats (HTML, CSV,

Binary or PNG/Graph) and on an incremental way (Only new data can be exported).• Logging is based on a time interval or on a deadband and can be customized for

every Tag.

Alarming

• The eWON Flexy is able to generate alarms and send alarm notifications in the form of an email, a SMS or a file sending over FTP.
