a prescribed or accepted code of behavior in

THREE CATEGORIES:

Page 5: Etiquette for Choirs

Onstage

While on stage, performers should remain professional throughout the performance by remaining silent and not applauding other performers. Performers should also restrain the urge to fidget with attire or hair.

Hands should remain at the performer’s side at all times (unless in the case of choreography).

Silence

Before and after the music, a moment of silence allows the performer to concentrate on the music while members of the audience are allowed to

focus on the performance.

Music

An important piece of concert stage etiquette is the performer's ability to look at the conductor with music only referred to when it is needed

(we memorize our pieces so we should ALWAYS be referring to the conductor for cues, entrances, cut offs and dynamics).

STAGE ETIQUETTE

All movements should be organized, clean, quiet, and PRACTICED.

Moving from one space to another requires discipline and self control. In Ms. Hines’ class, we use the number

system.

Let us practice OUR rehearsed transitions now!
