SCHOOL HATS AND SUNSCREEN Meadow Heights Primary is a SunSmart School. With higher UV levels from September onwards it is important to use a combination of sun-protection measures to minimise the risk of skin and eye damage and skin cancer. Between 1 SEPTEMBER TO 30 APRIL when outdoors at MHPS it is COMPULSORY, that staff and students wear appropriate clothing that covers as much skin as possible and a wide-brimmed hat or legionnaire cap to protect the head, face, neck and ears. Staff and students should also apply SPF 30+ broad spectrum sunscreen, use shade whenever possible and if practical, sunglasses should also be worn. Students without appropriate hats must sit in the shade in the main court-yard during their breaks, NO HAT! NO PLAY! NO SUN! MHPS appreciates your support in our efforts to encourage your child about the importance of being SunSmart. MHPS legionnaire caps or wide-brimmed hats can be purchased at the school office for $6:00 or $9:00.

Dear Parent, As part of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development’s Health and Safety Management Plan, new labelling will be installed at our school. The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2007 (OHS Regulations) include specific duties in relation to identifying the presence of asbestos in workplaces and indicating its location. Once identified, the presence and location of asbestos must be recorded in the asbestos register and clearly indicated. Labelling must be used to indicate the presence of fixed or installed asbestos containing materials. The labels remind people to contact school reception prior to undertaking any works at the school, to ensure they have up to date information from the schools asbestos register. Asbestos - which was used extensively in building materials in the past but is now banned - is considered safe unless damaged or in poor condition. The new labels form part of a comprehensive program to ensure Victorian government schools remain safe. Children’s safety is our number one priority. That is why we are taking this extra step as a precaution.

حالما يتم تحديد وجود مادة االسبستوس وبيان موقعه يجب تسجيله في السجل الخاص

باالسبستوس والتاشير عليه بوضوحه . يجب وضع العالمات لالشارة لوجود مواد تحتوي على االسبستوس المركب او المثبت .

ان العالمات سوف تذكر الناس باالتصال باستعالمات المدرسة قبل البدء بانجاز اي عمل في المدرسة للتاكد من ان لديهم اخر المعلومات الدقيقة من المدرسة بخصوص سجل

مادة االسبستوس .االسبستوس كان يستعمل على نطاق اوسع في مواد البناء قديما ولكن قد تم منع

استعماله حاليا وتعتبر هذه المادة امنة اال في حالة وجود ضرر او كان في حالة سيئة .ان شكل العالمات الجديدة يشكل جزءا من برنامج شامل للتاكد من السالمة العامة في

المدارس الحكومية لوالية فيكتوريا . ان سالمة االطفال هي من اولوياتنا . ولهذا السبب نقوم بخطوات اضافية كاالحيطة .
