compensatorios en lo« segmentos adyacentes, puesto que las
posición«! del esqueleto permanecen Inalteradas, aunque una
de tilas, la final, hay« sido desasociada del contenido
segmenta! que poseia subyacentemente. Los fenómenos de
alargamiento compensato!io son una reestructuración de las
unidades temporales del esqueleto.
1.7.3.1 Consonanticos.
11 segmento /s/, que antes de desaparecer provoca la
disimilación de (»tenso), es además el causante de otios
efectos, como la geminación de las consonantes siguientes.
Aparecen consonantes geminadas en:

alargamientos vocálicos y alargamientos consonanticos i*

4.1.S. La "abertura" dt lai.
Una cuestión polémica en lo« diferentes tratamientos
de 1« armonia vocálica del andaluz h« sido la abertura Ut
la vocal baja /a/, fn algunas descripciones su abertura se
interpreta cono palatalización y en otras cow» velariza-
ción. LOS datos que aporta Martínez Melgar (1990) muestran
que efectivamente se dan ambas, aunque los casos de (al
palatal son Más reducidos. Pero esta posible alternancia
vocálica es completamente regular; si (al palatal aparece
en la serie de vocales abiertas, la] velar forma serle con
las vocales cerradas, o bien viceversa; si dentro de las

1.7.1, Otros efectos de /a/ en »ndalus.
f n los dialectos con armonia vocàlica actúa la regla
(101) que es la que provoca la párdlda segmenta! de /s/,
pero COMO «sta deleción es sólo de su contenido de rasgos,
la posición temporal que ocupaba permanece en el esqueleto
cono demuestran los efectos compensatorios que ocurren en
los elementos adyacentes; vocales largas finales y con-
sonantes geminadas.
En los dialectos no armonizantes /s/ subyacente
presenta otras soluciones;

fn este trabajo hemos diferenciado las dos vibrantes
/r/ y /M/ a treves del rasgo I trilli. Podemos substituirlo
por el imago (tenso 1, siendo /t/ e] segmento ñateado, por
lo tanto con la especificación í+tenso). En las represen-
taciones fonológicas de (134), donde todas las vocales son
(•tenso), lo que ocurre es también la disimilación de
l+tenso) porque las estructuras resultantes son violaciones
del OCP Í106J:

4.7.8. Cuestión final.
ft ha constatado que la armonia vocálica del andaluz

La explicación fonológica do este hecho seria que en
la franatici de los hablantes que no tienen armonia, no se
da la representación de /s/ (102 b) sino la de (102 a), que
cono no está especificada COMO I*tenso J nunca creará la
violación del Principia de los Contornos Obligatorios que
origina (102 b) haciendo necesaria la dislmlación de esos
dos rasgos iguales; pero si está la regla (108) puesto que
los fenómenos de alargamientos compensatorios aparecen
Igualmente en los hablantes no armónicos.
